Cultivated potato is a clonally propagated autotetraploid species with a highly heterogeneous *** assemblies of six cultivars including two chromosome-scale phased genome assemblies revealed extensive allelic diversity,including altered coding and transcript sequences,preferential allele expression,and structural variation that collectively result in a highly complex transcriptome and predicted proteome,which are distributed across the homologous *** species contribute to the extensive allelic diversity in tetraploid cultivars,demonstrating ancestral introgressions predating modern breeding *** a clonally propagated autotetraploid that undergoes limited meiosis,dysfunctional and deleterious alleles are not purged in tetraploid *** a quarter of the loci bore mutations are predicted to have a high negative impact on protein function,complicating breeder’s efforts to reduce genetic *** StCDF1 locus controls maturity,and analysis of six tetraploid genomes revealed that 12 allelic variants of StCDF1 are correlated with maturity in a dosage-dependent *** of the complexity of the tetraploid potato genome with its rampant structural variation and embedded deleterious and dysfunctional alleles will be key not only to implementing precision breeding of tetraploid cultivars but also to the construction of homozygous,diploid potato germplasm containing favorable alleles to capitalize on heterosis in F1 hybrids.

This paper proposes a method in order to detect the importance of the input variables in multivariate analysis problems. When there is correlation among predictor variables, the importance of each input variable, when adding variables in the model, can be detected from the knowledge stored in Artificial Neural Network （NN） and it must be taken into account. Neural networks models have been used with the analysis of sensibility, these models predict more accurately the relationship between variables, and it is the way to find a set of forecasting variables in order to be included in the new prediction model. The obtained results have been applied in a system to forecast the volume of wood for a tree, and to detect relationships between input and output variables.

This review compiles information on PCDD/F-and PCB-contaminated eggs from 20 years of global egg monitoring around emission sources in four continents conducted by the International Pollutants Elimination Network(IPEN)and Arnika as well as a compilation of data from scientific *** monitored 127 pooled egg samples including samples from 113 chicken flocks at potential PCDD/F-and PCB-contaminated sites around priority sources listed in the Stockholm Convention(*** incinerators,metal industries,cement plants,and open burning).99(88%)of pooled egg samples were above the EU maximum limits for PCDD/Fs(2.5 pg PCDD/F-TEQ/g fat)or the sum of PCDD/Fs and dioxinlike PCBs(5 pg PCDD/F-PCB-TEQ/g fat).Children consuming such eggs exceed the tolerable weekly intake(TWI).This demonstrates that close to 90%of these areas were not safe for the production of free-range *** out of the 113 egg samples(14%)were contaminated above 50 pg TEQ/g fat and exceeded the EU maximum limit more than 10 *** the 26 pooled egg samples around incinerators 24(92%)exceeded the limit with a mean of 43.1 pg TEQ/g fat(2.6e234 pg TEQ/g).All 21 egg samples around metal industries(4.4e112.6 pg TEQ/g fat)were above limits with mean concentration of 26.0 pg TEQ/g *** all 7 egg samples measured at e-waste recycling sites were above limits(mean 308 pg TEQ/g fat).In 58(51%)pooled egg samples the PCB-TEQ was above 5 pg TEQ/g fat exceeding the EU maximum limit with dioxin-like PCBs *** highlights the role of commercial PCBs for global contamination with dioxin-like *** was discovered that around metal industries,shredder plants,open burning sites of e-waste and dump sites,a high share of contamination was caused by *** clearly shows severe PCB release from the end-of-life management of PCB-containing equipment in developing *** highly contaminated eggs were found at many sites where plastic was *** highest contaminated egg sample ev

A study was conducted to examine the distribution pattern of four rhizomatous medicinal and aromatic plant species （MAPs） viz., Angelica glauca, Pleurospermum angelicoides, Rheum emodi and Arne- bia benthamii in different forest stands in Central Himalaya. Results show that A. glauca and P. angelicoides had a higher （50%） frequency at Chipkoan, Garpak and Phagati forest, R. emodi had a higher （60%） frequency at Rishikund, Suki and Himtoli, and A. benthamii had a higher （70%） frequency at Suki and Khambdhar The densities of A. glauca （0.6 plants·m -2 ） and P. angelicoides （0.5 plants·m -2 ） were higher at Chipkoan and Garpak sites than at other micro-sites, while densities of R. emodi （0.8 plants·m -2 ） and A. benthamii （1.0 plants·m -2 ） were higher at Suki and Khambdhar sites. A. glauca had highest total basal covers （TBC）（1.2 cm 2 ·m -2 ） at Chipkoan, P. angelicoides had highest TBC （0.92 cm 2 ·m -2） at Lati kharak site, A. benthamii had the highest TBC （6.48 cm 2 ·m -2 ） atKhambdhar, and R. emodi had highest TBC （4.53 cm 2 ·m -2 ） at Rishikund. For the four studied species, A. glauca showed a contagious distribution, P. angelicoides and R. emodi showed the random and A. benthamii showed the regular type of distribution.

Persimmon(Diospyros kaki)is an oriental perennial woody fruit tree whose popular fruit is produced and consumed *** persimmon fruit is unique because of the hyperaccumulation of proanthocyanidins during fruit development,causing the mature fruit of most cultivars to have an astringent *** this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for‘Youshi’(Diospyros oleifera,2n=2x=30),the diploid species of persimmon,by integrating Illumina sequencing,single-molecule real-time sequencing,and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture *** assembled *** genome consisted of 849.53 Mb,94.14%(799.71 Mb)of which was assigned to 15 pseudochromosomes,and is the first assembled genome for any member of the *** genomic analysis revealed that the *** genome underwent an ancientγwhole-genome duplication *** studied the potential genetic basis for astringency development(proanthocyanidin biosynthesis)and removal(proanthocyanidin insolublization).Proanthocyanidin biosynthesis genes were mainly distributed on chromosome 1,and the clustering of these genes is responsible for the genetic stability of astringency ***-based RNA-seq identified deastringency genes,and promoter analysis showed that most of their promoters contained large numbers of low oxygen-responsive motifs,which is consistent with the efficient industrial application of high CO2 treatment to remove *** the *** genome as the reference,SLAF-seq indicated that‘Youshi’is one of the ancestors of the cultivated persimmon(2n=6x=90).Our study provides significant insights into the genetic basis of persimmon evolution and the development and removal astringency,and it will facilitate the improvement of the breeding of persimmon fruit.

Effects of DPC on Agronomic Traits and Economic Characters of Machine-Harvested Cotton in the Yellow River Valley of China and Chemical Control Techniques

[Objective] The aim was to investigate the effects of DPC chemical controlling technique on agronomic traits, yield and quality of machine-harvested cotton in the Yellow River Valley of China, and clarify the reasonable control period and the application amount of DPC. [Method] The new machine-harvested cotton variety Hengmian HD008 was used as the test material, and 3 different DPC treatments were set. [Result] DPC significantly reduced plant height and branch length, reduced branch angle and leaf area, so the rational control can effectively shape the ideal plant type of machine-harvested cotton. DPC had significant effects on yield and yield components, and the proper amount of DPC could increase the number of bolls during hot days, the number bolls in autumn and the total number of bolls. It increased the boll weight and seed index, but decreased lint percentage decreased, and proper amount of DPC could increase the yield. DPC significantly increased the specific breaking strength of fibers, and proper control could improve the uniformity of fibers, but other indexes had no significant influence. [Conclusion] According to the requirements of machine harvest to the agronomic traits of cotton and the growth characteristics of cotton plant, chemical control could begin after floral bud emergence in cotton about every 10 d, and the spraying amount can be controlled according to the growth amount of the main stem. The daily growth amount of plant height should be controlled at 1.5-1.8 cm, and the plant height should be within 75-90 cm.

Phylogenomic evidence from an increasing number of studies has demonstrated that different data sets and analytical approaches often reconstruct strongly supported but conflicting *** this study,785 single-copy nuclear genes and 75 complete plastomes were used to infer the phylogenetic relationships and estimate the historical biogeography of the apple genus Malus sensu lato,an economically important lineage disjunctly distributed in the Northern Hemisphere and involved in known and suspected hybridization and allopolyploidy *** nuclear phylogeny recovered the monophyly of Malus s.l.(including Docynia);however,the genus was supported to be biphyletic in the plastid *** ancient chloroplast capture event in the Eocene in western North America best explains the cytonuclear *** conflict analysis demonstrated that ILS,hybridization,and allopolyploidy could explain the widespread nuclear gene tree *** deep hybridization event(Malus doumeri)and one recent event(Malus coronaria)were detected in Malus ***,our historical biogeographic analysis integrating living and fossil data supported a widespread East Asianwestern North American origin of Malus *** the Eocene,followed by several extinction and dispersal events in the Northern *** also propose a general workflow for assessing phylogenomic discordance and biogeographic analysis using deep genome skimming data sets.
