Oligodendroglial heterogeneity in health,disease,and recovery:deeper insights into myelin dynamics

Decades of research asserted that the oligodendroglial lineage comprises two cell types:oligodendrocyte precursor cells and ***,recent studies employing single-cell RNA sequencing techniques have uncovered novel cell states,prompting a revision of the existing *** forward,the oligodendroglial lineage should be delineated into five distinct cell states:oligodendrocyte precursor cells,committed oligodendrocyte precursor cells,newly formed oligodendrocytes,myelin-forming oligodendrocytes,and mature *** new classification system enables a deeper understanding of the oligodendroglia in both physiological and pathological *** this uniform terminology will facilitate comparison and integration of data across ***,including the consolidation of findings from various demyelinating models,is essential to better understand the pathogenesis of demyelinating ***,comparing injury models across species with varying regenerative capacities can provide insights that may lead to new therapeutic strategies to overcome remyelination ***,by standardizing terminology and synthesizing data from diverse studies across different animal models,we can enhance our understanding of myelin pathology in central nervous system disorders such as multiple sclerosis,Alzheimer's disease,and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,all of which involve oligodendroglial and myelin dysfunction.

In radiology,magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)is an essential diagnostic tool that provides detailed images of a patient’s anatomical and physiological *** is particularly effective for detecting soft tissue ***,radiologists manually interpret these images,which can be labor-intensive and time-consuming due to the vast amount of *** address this challenge,machine learning,and deep learning approaches can be utilized to improve the accuracy and efficiency of anomaly detection in MRI *** manuscript presents the use of the Deep AlexNet50 model for MRI classification with discriminative learning *** are three stages for learning;in the first stage,the whole dataset is used to learn the *** the second stage,some layers of AlexNet50 are frozen with an augmented dataset,and in the third stage,AlexNet50 with an augmented dataset with the augmented *** method used three publicly available MRI classification datasets:Harvard whole brain atlas(HWBA-dataset),the School of Biomedical Engineering of Southern Medical University(SMU-dataset),and The National institute of Neuroscience and Hospitals brain MRI dataset(NINS-dataset)for *** hyperparameter optimizers like Adam,stochastic gradient descent(SGD),Root mean square propagation(RMS prop),Adamax,and AdamW have been used to compare the performance of the learning ***-dataset registers maximum classification *** evaluated the performance of the proposed classification model using several quantitative metrics,achieving an average accuracy of 98%.

A Resource Scheduling Scheme for Spectrum Aggregation in Cognitive Radio Based Heterogeneous Networks

In spectrum aggregation(SA), two or more component carriers(CCs) of different bandwidths in different bands can be aggregated to support wider transmission bandwidth. The current resource scheduling schemes for spectrum aggregation are not optimal or suitable for CR based heterogeneous networks(Het Nets). Consequently, the authors propose a novel resource scheduling scheme for spectrum aggregation in CR based Het Nets, termed as cognitive radio based resource scheduling(CR-RS) scheme. CR-RS has a three-level structure. Under a dynamic traffic model, an equivalent throughput of the CCs based on the knowledge of primary users(PUs) is given. On this basis, the CR users data transmission time of each CC is equal in CR-RS. The simulation results show that CR-RS has the better performance than the current resource scheduling schemes in the CR based Het Nets. Meanwhile, CR-RS is also effective in other spectrum aggregation systems which are not CR based HetNets.

A Semi-Supervised WLAN Indoor Localization Method Based on l1-Graph Algorithm

For indoor location estimation based on received signal strength( RSS) in wireless local area networks( WLAN),in order to reduce the influence of noise on the positioning accuracy,a large number of RSS should be collected in offline phase. Therefore,collecting training data with positioning information is time consuming which becomes the bottleneck of WLAN indoor localization. In this paper,the traditional semisupervised learning method based on k-NN and ε-NN graph for reducing collection workload of offline phase are analyzed,and the result shows that the k-NN or ε-NN graph are sensitive to data noise,which limit the performance of semi-supervised learning WLAN indoor localization system. Aiming at the above problem,it proposes a l1-graph-algorithm-based semi-supervised learning( LG-SSL) indoor localization method in which the graph is built by l1-norm algorithm. In our system,it firstly labels the unlabeled data using LG-SSL and labeled data to build the Radio Map in offline training phase,and then uses LG-SSL to estimate user's location in online phase. Extensive experimental results show that,benefit from the robustness to noise and sparsity ofl1-graph,LG-SSL exhibits superior performance by effectively reducing the collection workload in offline phase and improving localization accuracy in online phase.

А Novel AP Placement Algorithm Based on User Distribution for Indoor WLAN System

AP deployment is significant for indoor WLAN system to achieve seamless coverage. The available algorithms do not take user distribution into consideration so that poor user coverage and imbalanced network load occur. Therefore, this paper proposed a novel AP placement algorithm to bridge the AP deployment with user distribution. The proposed algorithm employs statistics theory to model the user distribution as its location and probability. Then we obtain the AP location based on the fuzzy C-clustering algorithm. The proposed algorithm is practical for implementation, which means the actual signal transmission isn't required in our proposed method. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm could automatically achieve a good AP deployment with different user distribution, and provide a good performance in the maximum users and AP load balance in WLAN.

Deeply pipelined interpolation architecture for full ultra-HD H.265/HEVC video encoding

Fractional motion estimation(FME) improves the video encoding efficiency significantly. However, its high computational complexity limits the real-time processing capability. Therefore, it is a key problem to reduce the implementation complexity of FME, especially in hardware design. This paper presents a novel deeply pipelined interpolation architecture of FME for the real-time realization of H.265/HEVC full Ultra-HD video encoder. First, a pipelined interpolation architecture together with an elegant processing order is proposed to deal with different search positions in parallel without pipeline stall and data conflict. Second, interpolation results sharing strategies are exploited among search positions to reduce the memory cost. Finally, the structure of the interpolation filter is further optimized for an area efficient implementation. As a result, the proposed design costs 41 917 slice LUTs on the Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA platform with a 308 MHz working frequency. The measured throughput reaches a record of 1.238 Gpixels/s, which is sufficient for the real-time encoding of 8192×4320@ 30 fps video.

Efficient video downscaling transcoder from MPEG-2 to H.264

The new H.264 video coding standard achieves significantly higher compression performance than MPEG-2. As the MPEG-2 is popular in digital TV, DVD, etc., bandwidth or memory space can be saved by transcoding those streams into H.264 in these applications. Unfortunately, the huge complexity keeps transcoding from being widely used in practical applications. This paper proposes an efficient transcoding architecture with a smart downscaling decoder and a fast mode decision algorithm. Using the proposed architecture, huge buffering memory space is saved and the transcoding complexity is reduced. Performance of the proposed fast mode decision algorithm is validated by experiments.

A Bayesian Super Resolution Algorithm Based on Synthetic Gradient Distribution

A novel Bayesian super resolution (SR) algorithm based on the distribution of synthetic gradient is proposed. The synthetic gradient combines prior information in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal directions. Its distribution is modeled as a Lorentzian function and regarded as a new image model which can sufficiently regularize the ill-posed algorithm and preserve the edges in the reconstructed images. The graduated nonconvexity (GNC) optimization is employed to guarantee the convergence of the proposed Lorentzian SR (LSR) algorithm to the global minimum. The performance of LSR is compared with conventional algorithms, and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm obtains both subjective and objective gains.
