Investigation of the Potts Model on Triangular Lattices by the Second Renormalization of Tensor Network States

We employ the second renormalization group method of tensor-network states to investigate thermodynamic properties of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic Potts model on triangular lattices. From the temperature dependence of the internal energy and the specific heat, both the critical temperatures and critical exponents are evaluated. For the q = 3 antiferromagnetic Potts model, the critical temperature is found to be Tc = 0.627163±0.000003, which is at least one order of magnitude more accurate than that obtained by other methods.

In this paper,a time of flight neutron reflectometer model is *** to the original objective inputting physical parameters and expectations,computer simulation was done by McStas *** the open slit, neutron flux at sample position was about 1×10~5 n·cm^(-2)·S^(-1),and the optimal resolution could reach 0.5%.The results show that the model has a good *** design of this model can be an instruction for neutron reflectometer construction or project analysis in the future.

Measurements of boundary parameters and their fluctuations have been performed in ohmic (OH) plasma and Ion Bernstein Wave (IBW) and Lower Hybrid Current Drive (LHCD) enhanced confinement plasma using a pneumatically driven Langmuir probe array on HT-7 toka-mak. In the enhanced confinement plasma, the gradients of electron density and temperature become higher and a transport barrier comes into being in the vicinity of the limiter. The boundary potential shows a clear modification in the same region. The fluctuation levels are significantly depressed and the coherences between fluctuations are reduced evidently in the enhanced plasma. Meanwhile, we obtained the spectral features and the poloidal phase velocity of fluctuations using a two-point correlation technique and found obvious modifications of the turbulence and the poloidal flow. The results suggest that the improved confinement in the IBW and LHCD enhanced plasma is at least partially due to the modification of the boundary parameters and the suppression of the boundary fluctuations and fluctuation induced fluxes.

QCD deconfinement phase transition is supposed to be the same universality class as the 3D-Ising model. According to the universality of critical behavior, the Binder-like ratios and ratios of higher cumulants of order parameter near the critical temperature in the 3D-Ising model are studied. The Binder-like ratio is shown to be a step function of temperature. The critical point is the intersection of the ratios of different system sizes between two platforms. The normalized cumulant ratios, like the Skewness and Kurtosis, do not diverge with correlation length, contrary to the corresponding cumulants. Possible applications of these characters in locating critical point in relativistic heavy ion collisions are discussed.

Etching effects of hydrogen ions on the Si(111)-(1×1)C surface have been studied by LEED(low-energy electron diffraction)and AES(Auger electron spectroscopy).It has been found that hydrogen ions,can break the carbon-silicon covalent bonds and cause a phase transition of Si(111)-(1×1)C to the reconstructed Si(111)-(7×7)structure.

We propose a quantum-mechanical Brayton engine model that works between two superposed states,employing a single particle confined in an arbitrary power-law trap as the working substance. Applying the superposition principle,we obtain the explicit expressions of the power and efficiency,and find that the efficiency at maximum power is bounded from above by the function: η+= θ/(θ+1),with θ being a potential-dependent exponent.

In order to calculate absolute efficiency of the BF3 detector, MCNP/4C code is applied to calculate relative efficiency of the BF3 detector first, and then absolute efficiency is figured out through mathematical techniques. Finally an energy response curve of the BF3 detector for 1~20 MeV neutrons is derived. It turns out that efficiency of BF3 detector are relatively uniform for 2~16 MeV neutrons.

Quantum field theory is a fundamental tool in particle and nuclear physics. Elemental particles are assumed to be point particles and, as a result, the loop integrals are divergent in many cases. Regularization and renormalization are introduced in order to get the physical finite results from the infinite, divergent loop integrations. We propose new quantization conditions for the fields whose base is very natural, i.e., any particle is not a point particle but a solid one with three dimensions. With this solid quantization, divergence could disappear.
