Wireless sensor network(WSN)is effective for monitoring the target environment,which consists of a large number of sensor nodes of limited *** efficient medium access control(MAC)protocol is thus imperative to maximize the energy efficiency and performance of *** most existing MAC protocols are based on the scheduling of sleep and active period of the nodes,and do not consider the relationship between the load condition and *** this paper a novel scheme is proposed to properly determine the duty cycle of the WSN nodes according to the load,which employs the Q-leaming technique and function approximation with linear *** allows low-latency energy-efficient scheduling for a wide range of traffic conditions,and effectively overcomes the limitation of Q-learning with the problem of continuous state-action ***3 simulation reveals that the proposed scheme significantly improves the throughput,latency,and energy efficiency compared to the existing fully active scheme and S-MAC.

Cytokine levels in patients with chikungunya virus infection

Objective: To investigate cytokine profile in patients with chikungunya virus (CHIKV) infection. Methods: Twenty eight pairs of serum samples collected from CHIKV infected patients during the outbreak of chikungunya fever in South Thailand in 2008 were obtained. A multiple cytokine assay for detection of 17 cytokines was performed. Results: In the acute stage of CHIKV infection, the patients had significantly higher levels of interleukin-6, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, monocyte chemotactic protein 1 and tumor necrosis factor alpha than the control ( P<0.001, P=0.023, P=0.015, P <0.001 and P=0.024, respectively). When the disease developed to the recovery stage, the patients had significantly lower levels of interleukin-6, granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, monocyte chemotactic protein 1 and macrophage inflammatory protein beta than in the acute stage ( P<0.001). Conclusions: This study provides additional information that these cytokines could play roles in pathogenesis of CHIKV infection and could be used as disease biomarkers or drug targets.

Purpose:The purpose of this study is to identify the key aspects of the demographic characteristics and motivations of Chinese faculty at Japanese ***/Approach/Methods:Main methods include an analysis of relevant data from a national survey of full-time international faculty in Japan in 2017 and results from semi-structured interviews with several full-time Chinese faculty hired in different Japanese ***:This study suggests that,compared to the average level of international faculty,there are larger numbers of female Chinese faculty,greater numbers of Chinese professors,Chinese doctoral degree holders,Chinese faculty in engineering,and larger numbers of them being engaged in research rather than ***,this study argues that the most important reasons for Chinese faculty to work in Japanese universities are academic or professional reasons,followed by their fondness for Japanese life and culture and their agreement with better living conditions in Japan than in ***/Value:It is the first time that the key characteristics of full-time Chinese faculty at Japanese universities and their motivations to come to Japan are investigated and discussed based on both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Since 2012, the MOOCs, the massive open online courses, have brought big influences on the higher education in the world. How to use MOOCs to help universities rather than bother them to improve their education level and quality becomes an important issue. In China, many universities have explored the new modes and approaches for MOOC/SPOC-based teaching and learning. Especially, the China MOOC Association on Computing education(CMOOC association), established in 2014, has done a set of successful practice and achieved fruitful experiences on MOOC courses development and computer education reform. Based on the practical experiences, a MOOC/SPOC based "1+M+N" multi-university collaborative teaching and learning mode is presented, which is adapted to the real situation of Chinese university education. In the paper, the practices and experiences of CMOOC association are introduced, the MOOC/SPOC based "1+M+N" multi-university collaborative teaching and learning mode and its approaches are described. Finally, the suggestions for MOOCs development and applications are also presented.

A shaped binderless and two binder‐containing ZSM‐11 zeolite catalysts were prepared and characterized by powder X‐ray diffraction, N2 adsorption‐desorption, and pyridine adsorption‐infrared measurements. The binderless catalyst was synthesized using a dry‐gel conversion technique, inwhich 1,6‐hexanediamine and tetrabutylammonium bromide were used as structure‐directingagents and no other alkaline materials were added. The catalytic performance of the zeolites in the direct amination of isobutene to tert‐butylamine was evaluated in a fixed‐bed reactor. By virtue of its high crystallinity as well as its good mechanical strength, the shaped binderless ZSM‐11 catalyst showed a higher rate of formation of tert‐butylamine than did the binder‐containing catalysts.

Local cerebral perfusion pressure （CPP） is a primary factor controlling cerebral circulation and previous studies have indicated that the ratio of cerebral blood flow （CBF） to cerebral blood volume （CBV） can be used as an index of the local CPP. In this study, we investigated whether the CBF/CBV ratio differs among different brain structures under physiological conditions, by means of （15）O positron emission tomography. Nine healthy volunteers （5 men and 4 women; mean age, 47.0 ± 1.2 years） were studied by H2（15）O bolus injection for CBF measurement and by C（15）O inhalation for CBV measurement. The CBF/CBV ratio maps were created by dividing the CBF images by the CBV images after anatomical normalization. Regions of interest were placed on the CBF/CBV maps and comparing the regions. The mean CBF/ CBV ratio was highest in the cerebellum （19.3 ＋ 5.2/ min）, followed by the putamen （18.2 ± 3.9）, pons （16.4 ±4.6）, thalamus （14.5：1： 3.3）, cerebral cortices （13.2 ±2.4）, and centrum semiovale （1115 ± 2.1）. The cerebellum and putamen showed significantly higher CBF/CBV ratios than the cerebral cortices and centrum semiovale. We created maps of the CBF/ CBV ratio in normal volunteers and demonstrated higher CBF/CBV ratios in the cerebellum and putamen than in the cerebral cortices and deep cerebral white matter. The CBF/CBV may reflect the local CPP and should be studied in hemodynamicallycompromised patients and in patients with risk factors for small-artery diseases of the brain. Necroptosis is a tightly regulated form of necrosis that requires the activation of receptor-interacting protein(RIP)kinases RIPK1 and RIPK3,as well as the RIPK3 substrate mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein(MLKL).Because of membrane rupture,necroptotic cells release damage-associated molecular patterns(DAMPs)that evoke immune *** is emerging as an important cellular response in the modulation of cancer initiation,progression,and *** of cancer cells is considered to be an immunogenic cell death capable of activating anti-tumor *** also participates in the promotion of myeloid cell-induced adaptive immune suppression and thus contributes to *** addition,necroptosis of endothelial cells and tumor cells is conducive to tumor *** this review,we summarize the current knowledge of the complex role of necroptosis in cancer and discuss the potential of targeting necroptosis components for cancer therapies.
