A novel metal-free porous covalent organic polymer for efficient room-temperature photocatalytic CO2 reduction via dry-reforming of methane

At room temperature,the conversion of greenhouse gases into valuable chemicals using metal-free catalysts for dry reforming of methane（DRM） is quite promising and ***,we developed a novel covalent organic porous polymer （TPE-COP） with rapid charge separation of the electron–hole pairs for DRM driven by visible light at room temperature,which can efficiently generate syngas （CO and H2）.Both electron donor (tris（4-aminophenyl）amine,TAPA) and acceptor (4,4',4'',4'''-(（1 E,1'E,1''E,1'''E）-(ethene-1,1,2,2-tetrayltetrakis （benzene-4,1-diyl）)tetrakis （ethene-2,1-diyl）)tetrakis (1-（4-formylbenzyl）quinolin-1-ium),TPE-CHO) were existed in TPE-COP,in which the push–pull effect between them promoted the separation of photogenerated electron–hole,thus greatly improving the photocatalytic *** functional theory （DFT） simulation results show that TPE-COP can form charge-separating species under light irradiation,leading to electrons accumulation in TPE-CHO unit and holes in TAPA,and thus efficiently initiating *** 20 h illumination,the photocatalytic results show that the yields reach 1123.6 and 30.8μmol g-1for CO and H2,respectively,which are significantly higher than those of TPE-CHO small *** excellent result is mainly due to the increase of specific surface area,the enhancement of light absorption capacity,and the improvement of photoelectron-generating efficiency after the formation of ***,this work contributes to understanding the advantages of COP materials for photocatalysis and fundamentally pushes metal-free catalysts into the door of DRM field.

Adoptive cell therapy(ACT)is an immunotherapy strategy for cancer that has seen widespread clinical *** ACT,patient-derived lymphocytes are stimulated with the antigen of interest ex vivo,proliferated,then returned to the patient to initiate an antigen-specific antitumor *** effective,this process is resource-intensive and logistically impossible for many *** artificial antigen presenting cells(aAPCs)offer a potential“off-the-shelf”alternative to ex vivo *** particulate aAPCs perform well in vitro,they have had limited success in vivo due to poor bioavailability after *** to bioavailability include rapid clearance,unfavorable biodistribution,and inadequate interactions with CD8+T cells at sites of *** properties such as elasticity have been shown to vastly impact the bioavailability and particle-cell interactions,but this has yet to be investigated in the context of aAPCs for in vivo T-cell *** literature likewise indicates that biomaterial properties,especially elasticity,can modulate T-cell activation in *** the goal of creating a more biomimetic,next-generation particulate aAPC,we developed a poly(ethylene)glycol hydrogel particle platform with tunable elasticity to investigate the impact of elasticity on antigen-specific T cell activation for in vivo adoptive *** this knowledge,we were able to gain more precise control over in vivo T cell activation and investigate possible mechanisms including the effects of aAPC elasticity on T cell binding,macrophage uptake,and the protein corona.

Liquid metal biomaterials: translational medicines,challenges and perspectives

Until now, significant healthcare challenges and growing urgent clinical requirements remain incompletely addressed by presently available biomedical materials. This is due to their inadequate mechanical compatibility, suboptimal physical and chemical properties, susceptibility to immune rejection, and concerns about long-term biological safety. As an alternative, liquid metal(LM) opens up a promising class of biomaterials with unique advantages like biocompatibility, flexibility, excellent electrical conductivity,and ease of functionalization. However, despite the unique advantages and successful explorations of LM in biomedical fields, widespread clinical translations and applications of LM-based medical products remain limited. This article summarizes the current status and future prospects of LM biomaterials, interprets their applications in healthcare, medical imaging, bone repair, nerve interface, and tumor therapy, *** to translate LM materials into medicine and obstacles encountered in practices are *** that, we outline a blueprint for LM clinics, emphasizing their potential in making new-generation artificial organs. Last, the core challenges of LM biomaterials in clinical translation, including bio-safety,material stability, and ethical concerns are also discussed. Overall, the current progress, translational medicine bottlenecks, and perspectives of LM biomaterials signify their immense potential to drive future medical breakthroughs and thus open up novel avenues for upcoming clinical practices.

Engineered cardiac constructs(ECC)aid in the progression of regenerative medicine,disease modeling and targeted drug delivery to adjust and aim the release of remedial combination as well as decrease the side effects of *** this research,polycaprolactone/gold nanoparticles(PCL/GNPs)three-dimensional(3D)composite scaffolds were manufactured by 3D printing using the fused deposition modeling(FDM)method and then coated with gelatin/spironolactone(GEL/SPL).Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FTIR–ATR)were applied to characterize the ***,drug release,biodegradation,behavior of the myoblasts(H9C2)cell line,and cytotoxicity of the 3D scaffolds were *** microstructural observation of the scaffolds reported interconnected pores with 150–300µm in *** 3D scaffolds were degraded significantly after 28 days of immersion in stimulated body fluid(SBF),with the maximum rate of GEL-coated 3D *** release from cross-linked GEL coating demonstrated the excess of drug release over time,and according to the control release systems,the drug delivery systems(DDS)went into balance after the 14th *** addition,cell culture study showed that with the addition of GNPs,the proliferation of(H9C2)was enhanced,and with GEL/SPL coating the cell attachment and viability were improved *** findings suggested that PCL/GNPs 3D scaffolds coated with GEL/SPL can be an appropriate choice for myocardial tissue engineering.

Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)can produce value-added hydrocarbons from renewable electricity,providing a sustainable and promising approach to meet dual-carbon targets and alleviate the energy ***,it is still challenging to improve the selectivity and stability of the products,especially the C^(2+) *** we propose to modulate the electronic structure of copper oxide(CuO)through lattice strain construction by zinc(Zn)doping to improve the selectivity of the catalyst to *** performance and in situ characterization analyses show that the compressive strain generated within the CuO lattice and the electronic structure modulation by Zn doping enhances the adsorption of the key intermediate*CO,thereby increasing the intrinsic activity of CO_(2)RR and inhibiting the hydrogen precipitation *** the best catalysts had significantly improved ethylene selectivity of 60.5%and partial current density of 500 mA·cm^(–2),and the highest C^(2+) Faraday efficiency of 71.47%.This paper provides a simple idea to study the modulation of CO_(2)RR properties by heteroatom doped and lattice strain.

Finite-time composite learning control for nonlinear teleoperation systems under networked time-varying delays

The robust finite-time synchronization control problem is investigated for master-slave networked nonlinear telerobotics systems(NNTSs) in this article. Although there have been some research achievements on finite-time control for the NNTSs, these studies are based on the strong assumptions of communication time delays or can only achieve finite-time bounded convergence even when the external forces are *** and in view of the importance of these issues, a novel robust composite learning adaptive control scheme rendering the finite-time master-slave synchronization is proposed in this paper. In particular, the influence of time delays on finite-time convergence of the system is analyzed by employing the multi-dimension finite-time small-gain framework. Meanwhile, in order to achieve accurate and fast estimation of uncertain parameters of the system, both the online historical and the instantaneous data of the estimation data are explored to derive the new parameter adaptive law under a more realizable interval-excitation(IE) ***, the convergence of the position/force synchronization errors and the adaptive parameter estimation errors is obtained in finite time, and enhanced robustness of the closed-loop system will also be ***, the superior performance of the proposed control algorithms is validated by numerical simulations and hardware experiments.

Minimum mass-entransy dissipation profile for one-way isothermal diffusive mass-transfer process with mass-resistance and massleakage

As a new concept,mass-entransy is one of the twins in the core of entransy *** can describe mass-transfer ability for masstransfer processes(MTPes),just as thermal-entransy for describing heat-transfer ***,mass-entransy dissipation can be utilized to evaluate the loss of mass-transfer *** mass-entransy dissipation(MMED) is utilized to optimize one-way isothermal diffusive MTPes with mass-leakage and mass-transfer law(g ∝ Δ(c),where c means concentration).For a given net amount of mass-transferred key components at the low-concentration side,optimality-condition for the MMED of isothermal diffusive MTPes is obtained by using the *** of the amount of mass-transferred and mass-leakage on optimal results are analyzed,and the obtained optimization profiles are compared with those for MTP profiles of constant-concentration-difference(c_1-c_2=const) and constant-concentration-ratio(c_1/c_2=const).The product of square of key-component-concentration(KCC) difference between high-and low-concentration sides and inert component concentration at high-concentration side for the MMED of the MTP with no mass-leakage is a constant,and the optimal relationship of the KCCs between high-and low-concentration sides with mass-leakage is significantly different from the *** mass-leakage is relatively small,the MTP with c_1-c_2=const strategy is superior to that with c_1/c_2=const strategy,and the latter is superior to the former with an increase in mass-leakage.A combination of mass-entransy concept,finite-time thermodynamics,and averaged-optimization-method is a meaningful tool for optimizing MTPes.

Influence of ion species on extraction characteristicsof mixed ion beams

The spatial distributions of different kinds of ions are usually not completely the same in the process of *** order to study the reason for the different characteristics of ion extraction, a simplified simulation model of Cu+ andCr+ ions extraction process was established by 2D3V (two-dimensional in space and three- dimensional in velocity space)particle-in-cell (PIC) method. The effects of different extraction voltages from 0 V to 500 V on the density distribution ofCu+ and Cr+ ions and the change of plasma emission surface were analyzed. On the basis of this model, the ion densitydistribution characteristics of Cu+ ions mixed with Li+, Mg+, K+, Fe+, Y+, Ag+, Xe+, Au+, and Pb+ ions respectivelyunder 200-V extraction voltage are further simulated, and it is revealed that the atomic mass of the ions is the key reason fordifferent ion density distributions when different kinds of ions are mixed and extracted, which provides support for furtherunderstanding of ion extraction characteristics.

Influence of extraction voltage on electron and ion behavior characteristics

The characteristics of the extracted ion current have a significant impact on the design and testing of ion source *** this paper,a 2D in space and 3D in velocity space particle in cell(2D3V PIC)method is utilized to simulate plasma motion and ion extraction characteristics under various initial plasma velocity distributions and extraction voltages in a Cartesian coordinate *** plasma density is of the order of 10^(15)m^(-3)-10^(16)m^(-3)and the extraction voltage is of the order of 100 V-1000 *** study investigates the impact of various extraction voltages on the velocity and density distributions of electrons and positive ions,and analyzes the influence of different initial plasma velocity distributions on the extraction *** simulation results reveal that the main reason for the variation of extraction current is the spacecharge force formed by the relative aggregation of positive and negative net *** lays the foundation for a deeper understanding of extraction beam characteristics.

Flurbiprofen microneedle patches for the management of acute postoperative pain

Acute postoperative pain is commonly treated with flurbiprofen(FBP),but conventional delivery methods are *** study prepared a new non-burst release microneedles(MNs)using genipin cross-linked gelatin(cGel).By adding varying amounts of genipin to modulate the crosslinking degree of cGel,the drug release behavior of the drug-loaded MNs in the skin can be *** crosslinking parameters that meet therapeutic requirements are selected,thus providing rapid and longlasting analgesic *** solutions were successfully cross-linked,altering matrix material microstructure,confirmed by scanning electron microscope imaging and fourier transform infrared *** demonstrated increasing mechanical strength with higher *** release rates were rapid initially,then slowed,exhibiting a characteristic of decreased release rates with increasing degrees of *** vivo,FBP/cGel MNs significantly reduced allodynia and hyperalgesia post-surgery,with the greatest effect observed at 2–3 h post-surgery,and can maintain analgesia for up to 6 *** tests confirmed good ***/cGel MNs effectively penetrate the stratum corneum,safely delivering drugs with significant analgesic effects,excellent mechanical properties,and good biocompatibility,representing a promising strategy for managing acute postoperative pain.
