A novel intelligent adaptive control of laser-based ground thermal test

Laser heating technology is a type of potential and attractive space heat flux simulation technology, which is characterized by high heating rate, controlled spatial intensity distribution and rapid response. However, the controlled plant is nonlinear, time-varying and uncertainty when implementing the laser-based heat flux simulation. In this paper, a novel intelligent adaptive controller based on proportion-integration-differentiation (PID) type fuzzy logic is proposed to improve the performance of laser-based ground thermal test. The temperature range of thermal cycles is more than 200 K in many instances. In order to improve the adaptability of controller, output scaling factors are real time adjusted while the thermal test is underway. The initial values of scaling factors are optimized using a stochastic hybrid particle swarm optimization (H-PSO) algorithm. A validating system has been established in the laboratory. The performance of the proposed controller is evaluated through extensive experiments under different operating conditions (reference and load disturbance). The results show that the proposed adaptive controller performs remarkably better compared to the conventional PID (PID) controller and the conventional PID type fuzzy (F-PID) controller considering performance indicators of overshoot, settling time and steady state error for laser-based ground thermal test. A high performance 90 nm CMOS SAR ADC with hybrid architecture

A 10-bit 2.5 MS/s SAR A/D converter is presented. In the circuit design, an R-C hybrid architecture D/A converter, pseudo-differential comparison architecture and low power voltage level shiflers are utilized. Design challenges and considerations are also discussed. In the layout design, each unit resistor is sided by dummies for good matching performance, and the capacitors are routed with a common-central symmetry method to reduce the nonlinearity error. This proposed converter is implemented based on 90 nm CMOS logic process. With a 3.3 V analog supply and a 1.0 V digital supply, the differential and integral nonlinearity are measured to be less than 0.36 LSB and 0.69 LSB respectively. With an input frequency of 1.2 MHz at 2.5 MS/s sampling rate, the SFDR and ENOB are measured to be 72.86 dB and 9.43 bits respectively, and the power dissipation is measured to be 6.62 mW including the output drivers. This SAR A/D converter occupies an area of 238× 214 μm^2. The design results of this converter show that it is suitable for multi-supply embedded SoC applications.

Simulation and Experimental Research on Liquid Spreading in a Wire-Sawn Kerf

The significance of liquids in abrasive wire sawing has been demonstrated in several ***,the perfor-mance of its spreading behavior is limited by the current development trend,where the wafer has a larger area and the kerf is ***,there are very few studies on the liquid spreading behavior in wire-sawn ***,a 3D CFD(computational fluid dynamics)model is presented in this paper and used to simulate the liquid spreading behavior in a kerf based on a VOF(volume of fluid)method with a CSF(continuum surface force)model,which is used to simulate multiphase flow,and an empirical correlation for characterizing the liquid dynamic contact angle using UDF(user defined functions).Subsequently,parametric simulations are performed on the kerf area,kerf width,liquid viscosity,liquid surface tension,and liquid velocity at the inlet area of the kerf,and verification experi-ments are conducted to determine the validity of the simulation *** the simulation and experimental results,three typical liquid spreading regimes that exhibit different effects on wire sawing in the kerfs are found,and their limiting conditions are identified using non-dimensional ***,a prediction model is pro-posed for the liquid spreading regime based on a set of Weber and Capillary *** wire sawing,an increase in the wafer area does not change the liquid spreading regime in the kerf;however,a reduction in the kerf width sig-nificantly hinders the liquid spreading ***,the spreading regime can be effectively converted to facili-tate wire sawing by adjusting the physical properties and supply conditions of the liquid.

With sustaining change of production mode,layout planning is no longer a thing built once for *** layout(CL) is becoming a hotspot in the research field of manufacturing system *** researches on layout planning are mainly concentrating on aspects of layout arithmetic,style and evaluation,*** seldom efforts are paid to CL and its specific problems as cell formation(CF),equipment sharing and CL *** problem analyzing of layout in cellular manufacturing system(CMS),research approach of cell formation,interactive layout and layout analysis threaded with process interconnection relationship(PIR) is *** key technologies in CL like CF technology based on similarity analysis of part processes,interactive visual layout technology,layout evaluation technology founded on PIR analysis and algorithm of cell equipment sharing are put *** the background of one enterprise which encounters problems of low utility of key equipments and disperse material logistic,an example of four-cell layout is *** CL adjustment and analysis results show that equipment with high level of sharing degree should be disposed around the boundary of its main cell,and be near to other sharing cells as possible; process route should be centralized by all means,so equipment adjustment is to be implemented along direction that route intersection can be decreased; giving consideration to the existence of discrete cell,logistic route and its density should be centralized to cells *** proposed research can help improve equipment utility and material logistic efficiency of CL,and can be popularized to other application availably.

Integrated manufacturing Cell Formation Technology Orienting Multi-product Type and Variant Volume Production

What is pursued by multi-product type and variant volume（MPTVV） production is rapid response and quick switching,so that structure of transferring line in manufacturing system is no longer *** formation（CF） algorithm is the key technology of cellular manufacturing system（CMS）.Currently,CF methods are mainly extended on the idea of group technology（GT） that covers a lot on analysis of resource capability matching and its *** constraints are considered,but seldom utilized *** to the problem of manufacturing cell（MC） formation under MPTVV production mode,integrated formation technologies for typical MC as group type of cell（GC）,flow type of cell（FC） and inherited cell（IC） are presented based on technical analysis of *** to practical production constraints like delivery time,product batch,equipment ability,key machine,key part and machine sharing,etc,an integrated formation model is constructed and internal interrelations of these constraints are analyzed ***,formation goals of types of MCs and their formation procedures under joint effect of formation constraints and rules are *** case study,three highly balanced GC are formed first;then FC formation are implemented based on the same data which indicate good balancing effect of cell load and flow-style production for key tasks;When task is adjusted,a new scheme is constructed on the result of FC configuration by using IC formation method,and more optimal performance of flow-style production is *** proposed comparative study of different type of cells strongly explains the validation of integrated MC formation in support of rapid manufacturing resource transformation under MPTVV production mode.

Micro Flow-Through Thermocycler with Simple Meandering Channel with Symmetric Temperature Zones for Disposable PCR-Devices in Microscope Slide Format

Chip-based flow-through PCR implements the PCR as a continuous process for nucleic acid analytics. The sample is transported in a winding channel through temperature zones required for denaturation, annealing and extension. Main fields of application are the monitoring of continuous processes for rapid identification of contaminants and quality control as well as high throughput screening of cells or microorganisms. A modular arrangement with five heating zones for flow-through PCR is discussed and evaluated. The special heater arrangement allows the implementation of up to 40 cycles on the footprint of a microscope slide, which is placed on top ofa 5 zones heating plate. Liquid/liquid two phase flow of PCR reaction mixture and mineral oil have been applied to create a segmented flow process scheme. In that way, the developed system may provide flow-through PCR as a unit operation for the droplet based microfluidics platform. The single use of disposable devices is commonly preferred due to the sensitivity of the PCR process to contaminations. All-glass microfluidic chips and disposable chip devices, made from polycarbonate as a replication with identically geometry, have been fabricated and tested. For the first time, microchannel geometries with nearly circular profile developed by all-glass technology have been transferred to mass fabrication by injection compression molding. Both devices have been successfully applied for the detection of the tumor suppressor gene p53. Although product yield and selectivity of the amplification process do not depend on the chip material, a well defined, reliable segmented flow regime could only be realized in the all-glass chip.

Modelling self-sensing of a magnetostrictive actuator based on a terfenol-D rod

A simplified quasi-static computational model for self-sensing applications of magnetostrictive actuators based on terfenol-D rods is presented. Paths and angle changes in the magnetic moments rotation of Tb0.3Dy0.7Fe2 alloy are studied as functions of compressive stress and magnetic field, and then used to determine the magnetization in its actuation. Then sensing of magnetic induction picked from a driving coil in an actuator is derived. The model is quick and efficient to solve moments rotation and its magnetization. Sensing results of compressive stress and magnetostriction calculated by the model are in good agreement with experiments and will be helpful in the design and control of self-sensing applications in actuators.

In-situ monitoring plume,spattering behavior and revealing their relationship with melt flow in laser powder bed fusion of nickel-based superalloy

Laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)is a highly dynamic and complex physical process,and single-track de-fects tend to accumulate into non-negligible internal defects of *** nickel-based superalloy single track was fabricated by LPBF,and its plume and spattering behavior were monitored in situ and recorded in real time based on image recognition and tracking in this *** relationship among laser energy density,melt flow,plume and spattering behavior during LPBF was *** energy density had limitations as a design parameter for ***,we found that plume and spattering behavior can be used as real-time design parameters for the processing of LPBF parts and implemented the initial velocity statistics for LPBF single-track spattering based on the centroid extraction *** influ-ence of melt flow evolution paths on the spattering and plume behavior in three different melting modes was revealed,and a shift in plume behavior was found in the overlap region of the additive *** study provides a new method for obtaining statistics of spattering-related physical quantities in the melting mode,which is beneficial for the development of processing methods to mitigate the instability of the LPBF process.

Inventory control model based on external and interior reverse logistics

To improve the inventory control strategy for enterprise and optimize inventory control parameters of existing external and interior reverse logistics, a multi-resource inventory control model is proposed to better simulate the logistics fact, which is aimed at periodic inventory checking and pull mode of inventory control strategy, based on the return product arrival time obeying Poisson distribution, the return product employing lotsize process and the nonzero lead time of manufaeturinge/remanufacturing. The rational cost function with multiple constraints is employed to describe the inventory model. The genetic algorithm is employed to solve the inventory cost function to obtain the optimal solution of inventory checking periods, safe inventory point, product lot-sizes and process lot-sizes of return product. An example is presented to prove the feasibility and validity of the proposed method. Moreover, the influence of manufacturing/remanufacturing lead time and reuse rate of return production on the inventory control strategy of enterprise is analyzed.
