The complexation of high-spin lanthanides to porphyrinoids is a powerful strategy for the development of advanced molecular *** this context,the use of expanded porphyrinoids remains elusive since their coordination chemistry is challenging to ***,taking inspiration from on-surface chemistry,we explored the coordination of Dy^(3+)to a six-membered porphyrinoid,namely,the hemihexaphyrazine ***,we observed the selective formation of a mono-nuclear off-centered,out-of-plane H_(2)Hhp-Dy^(3+)complex when performing the complexation under reductive *** this reaction,the oxidation state of the macrocycle did not *** X-ray diffraction analysis,we found that the coordination number of Dy in this complex was *** macrocycle cocrystallized with decamethylcobaltocene(Cp_(2)^(*)Co)molecules,giving rise to a wellordered solid-state packing,governed byπ-π*** a result of this organization,a small magnetic coupling between the neighboring molecules was *** in all,this work provides key insights into the coordination of magnetically active metals with expanded porphyrinoids,thus motivating the development of advanced spintronic devices.

From interconnections of local electric power systems to Global Energy Interconnection

The interconnections of electric power systems are developed for the economic benefits and in order to increase the overall power supply reliability and quality level. Development of power industry shows the positive effects in operation of the country-wide electric power systems and international interconnections. Creation of World Energy System or, by the other words, Global Energy Interconnection is objective trend on the way of expansion of international and intercontinental electric power interconnections. Several important aspects of above mentioned problems are discussed in this paper.

Combined Effect of Water Deficit and Salt Stress on the Structure of Mesophyll Cells in Wheat Seedlings

The purpose of the work was to assess the combined effect of drought and salinity (50, 100, 200 mМ NaCl) on the meso- and ultrastructure of mesophyll cells of wheat seedlings. Stress development was estimated by a decrease in the relative water content (RWC) and CO2-dependent O2 evolution (An) in leaves. The decrease in the RWC and in An occurred rapidly in the absence of salt in the substrate and slowly in the presence of salt, especially at a treatment of 100 mM NaCl. The resumption of watering led to the recovery of the both parameters in all variants except one with 200 mM NaCl. Structural studies showed that a weak drought stress (RWC 60%) without salinity led to the destruction of cell membranes and hyaloplasm, which did not occur in all salt treatments. By contrast, the ultrastructure of nuclei in weak drought without salinity remained unchanged, whereas in all salt treatments chromatin changed substantially. Heterochromatin underwent a strong condensation followed by the fusion into a united mass with the simultaneous loss of electron density. A strong water stress (RWC 40%) in all variants led to cell destruction and the hydrolysis of cell compounds. Under the drought without salinity, vacuoles disappeared, whereas in salt-treated samples they were retained and filled with organelles being at different degrees of degradation. Cell nuclei under strong drought stress lost their rounded shape, nuclear envelopes were destroyed, and at the end only a finely dispersed substance remained. Thus, under the combined action of drought and salt, there is some critical level of salt concentration in substrate above which the effect of NaCl changes to the adverse, which enhances the action of drought. Among structural components of mesophyll cells, the most sensitive parts to NaCl are nuclei and their chromatin.

A Check-List of the Spiders (Araneae) of the Bolshekhekhtsyrski Nature Reserve,Khabarovsk Province,the Russian Far East

326 species of spiders belonging to 26 families are recorded from the Bolshekhekhtsyrski State Nature Reserve,of them 70 are new records for the reserve and six are new to the fauna of Russia:Asperthorax borealis Ono et Saito,2001; Cyclosa kumadai Tanikawa,1992; Cyclosa okumae Tanikawa,1992(earlier it was identified as C. argenteoalba Bosenberg et Strand,1906); Haplodrassus taepaikensis Paik,1992; Hypselistes fossilobus Fei et Zhu,1993; and Pachygnatha gaoi Zhu et al.,2003. The name Pronous minutus (S. Saito,1939) is synonymized with Pronoides brunneus Schenkel,1936. The male of H. taepaikensis is illustrated for the first time. Composition of the fauna is briefly discussed; 41% of the recorded species have their ranges confined to the SE Palaearctics. By its species diversity,the reserve's fauna is the second largest local fauna eastward of the Urals. An expected spider diversity of this reserve is likely to be over 400 species.

Reduction of Radiation Damage in Mice after Acute and Prolonged Irradiation with Gamma Rays by Means of Laser Device

An opportunity to use laser radiation as a means to reduce negative aftermath of acute and prolonged exposure to ionizing radiation was checked. The mice were exposed to γ- rays of ^60Co （whole body irradiation） in the dose of 7 Gy （the transitional clinical form of the acute radiation sickness）. The dose rate at acute irradiation was 1.14 Gy/min, and at prolonged exposure, 0.027 Gy/min. Laser radiation in the dose l mJ/cm^2 was used to irradiate only the back of a mouse. First, the mice were exposed to γ-radiation, then to laser radiation. The time interval between two types of irradiation did not exceed 30 min. It was shown that the radiation protection of mice with laser radiation is possible at exposure to ionizing radiation in a wide dose interval and can reduce negative after-effects of both the acute and prolonged radiation exposure.

Laser Device for the Protection of biological Objects from the Damaging Action of Ionizing Radiation

Laser irradiation device for the protection of biological objects from the action of ionizing radiation to be used in practice has been manufactured （invention patent RU 2 428 228 C2）. Research of the action of y-radiation itself as well as of the combined action of laser devices on survival, weight, skin and the general mitotic index of the bone marrow cells （mitotic index of all nucleus-containing cells of the bone marrow） of C57BL/6 experimental young mice was carried out. The mice were irradiated with ionizing （whole body irradiation） and laser radiation, separately one by one in a special frame device. Laser radiation in the dose 1 mJ/cm^2 irradiated only the back of a mouse, or both the back and the abdomen of mice. In case of combined irradiation of mice, the time interval between two types of irradiation did not exceed 30 min. First, the mice were exposed to y-radiation then to laser radiation. The method of the laser radiation-protection of biological subjects contributes to an increase in the viability of mice, prevents the damages of skin and also increases the mitotic activity of mice bone marrow cells.

Soil respiration in paludified forests of European Russia

Soil respiration studies in paludified forests of the European part of Russia are quite rare in comparison with those of open peat bogs,which make long-term observations in this region highly *** this study,soil CO2 emissions were measured by the close chamber method in different microlandscapes of paludified *** four summer seasons with different environments,soil respiration ranged from 1078 to 248 mg CO2 m^-2 h^-1 in a paludified spruce forest site with coarse woody debris to 659–820 mg CO2 m^-2 h^-1 in a paludified boggy pine *** most intensive soil respiration was observed during the hot summer of 2013 and the lowest in the hot and humid summer of *** total soil CO2 emissions in paludified forests in 2015–2016 were approximately 2000–3000 g CO2 *** the year,the lowest CO2 emission values were observed from November to April(14–84 mg CO2 m^-2 h^-1)and the maximum were in July and August(522–1205 mg CO2 m^-2 h^-1).The contributions of CO2 emissions in the cold November–April period were 6–8.5%.The impacts of temperature on soil respiration were higher(r2=0.45–0.57)than those of groundwater levels(r^2=0.17–0.49).Soil respiration in the paludified spruce forest and in the pine bog generally were higher than emissions from ecosystems with similar hydrothermal conditions in the boreal zone.

High Accuracy Finite Volume Method for Solving Nonlinear Aeroacoustics problems on Unstructured Meshes

The paper presents a finite volume numerical method universally applicable for solving both linear and nonlinear aeroacoustics problems on arbitrary unstructured meshes. It is based on the vertexcentered multi-parameter scheme offering up to the 6th accuracy order achieved on the Cartesian meshes. An adaptive dissipation is added for the numerical treatment of possible discontinuities. The scheme properties are studied on a series of test cases, its efficiency is demonstrated at simulating the noise suppression in resonance-type liners.

The Effectiveness of Radiation Damage Reduction in Mice by Laser Light in Dependence of the Time Interval between Exposures

A research was carried out to determine the period of time during which it is possible to reduce the radiation damage in mice by means of laser radiation （650 nm） after gamma irradiation. First, the mice were exposed to γ- radiation （whole body irradiation）, then after 2 h or 24 h they were irradiated with laser radiation. The results of these studies have shown that the use of laser irradiation to reduce radiation damage in mice is effective 24 h after the exposure to 5 Gy ionizing radiation which leads to the bone-marrow clinical form of the ARS （Acute radiation sickness）. In case of the lethal dose of ionizing radiation 7 Gy （the transitional clinical form of the ARS）, the increase in life expectancy of mice is observed using laser radiation both 2 and 24 h after the exposure to γ- radiation, but the effectiveness of the laser used 2 h after the ionizing radiation is significantly more efficient.

Effects of long-term medieval agriculture on soil properties:A case study from the Kislovodsk basin,northern Caucasus,Russia

The chemical properties and biological activities of soils were studied in the vicinity of the medieval settlement Podkumskoe-3 in the Kislovodsk basin(northern Caucasus, Russia). Between the 5 th and 8 th centuries this area was ploughed regularly, but it was then abandoned up to the present day. It has been established that past human activity leads to soil undergoing significant transformations in terms of microbial communities and enzyme activity, and that such changes are maintained over long periods. Long-term manuring in the middle of the first millennium AD led to an increase in organic carbon content and the accumulation of nitrate nitrogen. Soils of ancient abandoned fields are associated with increases in microbial biomass, number of saprotrophic bacteria, urease activity, and fungal mycelium biomass. The observed changes in the microbiological and biochemical properties of soil were conditioned by secondary anthropogenically induced succession after the abandonment of arable lands.
