Low frequency oscillations of temperature field in the industrial induction channel furnace(ICF)with symmetrical and widened channel branches as well as different iron yoke positions are obtained using Large Eddy Simulation(LES)*** application of k-ω Shear Stress Transport(SST)turbulence model for computations of ICF with typical clogging shapes shows their influence on temperature and induced Joule heat power distributions,which are to be precise in LES study.

A （2 ＋ 1）-dimensional generalized Bogoyavlensky-Konopelchenko equation that possesses a Hirota bilinear form is considered. Starting with its Hirota bilinear form, a class of explicit lump solutions is computed through conducting symbolic computations with Maple, and a few plots of a specific presented lump solution are made to shed light on the characteristics of lumps. The result provides a new example of （2 ＋ 1）-dimensional nonlinear partial differential equations which possess lump solutions.

Taking a class of linear(4+1)-dimensional partial differential equations as examples, we would like to show that there exist lump solutions and interaction solutions in(4+1)-dimensions. We will compute abundant lump solutions and interaction solutions to the considered linear(4+1)-dimensional partial differential equations via symbolic computations,and plot three specific solutions with Maple plot tools, which supplements the existing literature on lump, rogue wave and breather solutions and their interaction solutions in soliton theory.

In this paper we introduce a new mathematical model for the active contraction of cardiac muscle,featuring different thermo-electric and nonlinear conductivity *** passive hyperelastic response of the tissue is described by an orthotropic exponential model,whereas the ionic activity dictates active contraction in-corporated through the concept of orthotropic active *** use a fully incompressible formulation,and the generated strain modifies directly the conductivity mechanisms in the medium through the pull-back *** also investigate the influence of thermo-electric effects in the onset of multiphysics emergent spatiotem-poral dynamics,using nonlinear *** turns out that these ingredients have a key role in reproducing pathological chaotic dynamics such as ventricular fibrillation during inflammatory events,for *** specific structure of the governing equations suggests to cast the problem in mixed-primal form and we write it in terms of Kirchhoff stress,displacements,solid pressure,dimensionless electric potential,activation generation,and ionic *** also advance a new mixed-primal finite element method for its numerical approximation,and we use it to explore the properties of the model and to assess the importance of coupling terms,by means of a few computational experiments in 3D.

Solar Thermal Energy Generation Potential in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu States, India

Government of India has come out with an ambitious target of 100 GW of using solar energy alone by the year 2022. To reach this target, innovative ideas are required to use the solar energy more effectively. For solar electricity generation, mainly two types of technologies are presently in use, namely, solar PV and solar thermal. Being a tropical country, India has large solar PV and solar thermal energy. More research is required on economic aspects to make the solar thermal competitive to solar PV. Towards this direction, in our present study we have simulated a solar thermal power plant using Parabolic Trough Collector (PTC) technology and normalized with 1 MW solar thermal power plant at Gurgaon near New Delhi. Through simulation, we have extended our study and computed the electricity generation possible at different locations of India. For this purpose with 1? × 1?spacing, computations have been carried out at 296 locations. The work is further extended for more detailed study at two representative states, namely, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. In these two states, closer data points with 0.25? × 0.25? spacing have been considered at 273 locations for Gujarat and 197 locations for Tamil Nadu. Our results indicate a large potential of electricity generation using solar thermal energy in southern states of India, namely, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, southern and western part of Andhra Pradesh and eastern part of Maharashtra. Good potential has also been observed in eastern parts of Gujarat and parts of Madhya Pradesh and eastern part of Rajasthan. The annual potential ranges from 1800 MWh to as much as 2600 MWh. Major parts of northern states, for example Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir have medium range potential. Here, the annual potential ranges from 1000 to 1500 MWh. Poor range of potential is observed towards eastern parts of India and north eastern states. Here, the electricity generation potential ranges from 600 to 1200 MWh. Our

Computational modeling of cavitating flows in liquid nitrogen by an extended transport-based cavitation model

Developing a robust computational strategy to address the rich physical characteristic involved in the thermcdynamic effects on the cryogenic cavitation remains a challenge in research. The objective of the present study is to focus on developing mod- elling strategy to simulate cavitating flows in liquid nitrogen. For this purpose, numerical simulation over a 2D quarter caliber hydrofoil is investigated by calibrating cavitation model parameters and implementing the thermodynamic effects to the Zwart cavitation model. Experimental measurements of pressure and temperature are utilized to validate the extensional Zwart cavi- tation model. The results show that the cavitation dynamics characteristic under the cryogenic environment ale different from that under the isothermal conditions： the cryogenic case yields a substantially shorter cavity around the hydrofoil, and the pre- dicted pressure and temperature inside the cavity are steeper under the cryogenic conditions. Compared with the experimental data, the computational predictions with the modified evaporation and condensation parameters display better results than the default parameters from the room temperature liquids. Based on a wide range of computations and comparisons, the extension- al Zwart cavitation model may predict more accurately the quasi-steady cavitation over a hydrofoil in liquid nitrogen by pri- marily altering the evaporation rate near the leading edge and the condensation rate in the cavity closure region.
