Objective:In patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC),cetuximab[a monoclonal antibody targeting epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)]has been shown to improve overall survival when combined with radiotherapy in the locally advanced setting or with chemotherapy in first-line recurrent and/or metastatic(R/M)setting,*** biomarkers of resistance to cetuximab have been identified in metastatic colorectal cancer,no biomarkers of efficacy have been identified in ***,we aimed to identify biomarkers of cetuximab sensitivity/resistance in ***:HNSCC patients treated with cetuximab at the curie institute,for whom complete clinicopathological data and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded(FFPE)tumor tissue collected before cetuximab treatment were available,were *** analyses of PTEN and EGFR were performed to assess protein expression ***3 CA and H/N/KRAS mutations were analyzed using high-resolution melting(HRM)and Sanger *** evaluated the predictive value of these alterations in terms of progression-free survival(PFS).Results:Hot spot activating PIK3 CA and KRAS/HRAS mutations were associated with poor PFS among HNSCC patients treated with cetuximab in the first-line R/M setting,but not among HNSCC patients treated with cetuximab in combination with *** of PTEN protein expression had a negative predictive value among HNSCC patients treated with cetuximab and *** EGFR expression did not predict cetuximab sensitivity in our patient ***:Hot spot activating PIK3 CA and RAS mutations predicted cetuximab resistance among HNSCC patients in the firstline R/M setting,whereas loss of PTEN protein expression predicted resistance to cetuximab when combined to radiotherapy.

Rare earth elements(REEs)play a crucial role in many technologies from daily appliances in cell phones to more advanced wind turbines and electric *** magnets account for a quarter of total global REEs production and have high recycling *** this study,smelting process was used to selectively oxidize REEs in the permanent magnets by adding Fe_(2)O_(3).This separates REEs into a slag phase from an iron-rich metallic phase.B_(2)O_(3) was also added to the system as a flux to lower the slag melting *** minimizes REEs loss to the metallic phase and allows a more efficient phase *** effect of flux and oxidizing agent addition was investigated on both regular and cerium-rich NdFeB(NdCeFeB)*** 1350℃and for 1 h,the slag phase was successfully separated from the metallic phase with the addition of 0.8 stoichiometric amount of Fe_(2)O_(3) and 40 wt%of B_(2)O_(3).Scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM-EDX)analysis reveals that REEs in the magnet do not migrate to the metal phase while the REE-rich slag phase contains almost no *** the selective removal of iron into the metallic phase,REEs are recovered from the slag phase through an acid leaching process allowing>99%of REEs *** in the magnet can also be recovered as useful boric acid by evaporation and crystallisation *** proposed process in this study is reagent and energy-efficient with almost complete valorisation of both NdCeFeB and NdFeB magnets.

We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient,EP240408a,by Einstein Probe(EP)and follow-up studies made with EP,Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other ground-based multiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescope(WXT)on board EP on April 8th,2024,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for 12 *** flare reached a peak flux of 3:9×10^(−9) erg cm^(−2) s^(−1) in 0.5-4 keV,∼300 times brighter than the underlying X-ray emission detected throughout the *** and more precise follow-up observations by EP/FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray spectrum is non-thermal in 0.5-10 keV,with a power-law photon index varying within *** X-ray light curve shows a plateau lasting for∼4 d,followed by a steep decay till becoming undetectable∼10 d after the initial *** on its temporal property and constraints from previous EP observations,an unusual timescale in the range of 7-23 d is found for EP240408a,which is intermediate between the commonly found fast and long-term *** counterparts have been found in optical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,suggestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable properties of EP240408a are inconsistent with any of the transient types known so far,by comparison with,in particular,jetted tidal disruption events,gamma-ray bursts,X-ray binaries and fast blue optical *** nature of EP240408a thus remains an *** suggest that EP240408a may represent a new type of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of∼10 *** detection and follow-ups of more of such objects are essential for revealing their origin.

We give a new justification of the linear membrane and flexural shell models. We prove that the sequence of scaled energy functionals associated with the scaled problem r-converges to the energy functional associated with a two-dimensional model. This two-dimensional model is a membrane or flexural one, depending on the geometric and kinematic conditions. Then, a classical argument allows to give a new proof of the convergence theorems recently obtained by P.G. Ciarlet, V. Lods and B. Miara.

The complexes of 3-methoxy-2-nitrobenzoates of Pr（Ⅲ）, Nd（Ⅲ）, Sm（Ⅲ）, Eu（Ⅲ）, Gd（Ⅲ）, Tb（Ⅲ）, Er（Ⅲ） and Tm（Ⅲ） with the formula： Ln（C8H6NO5）3·2H2O, where Ln=lanthanides（Ⅲ）, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, Forier transform irtrared （FTIR） spectroscopy, magnetic and thermogravimetric studies and also by X-ray diffraction （XRD） measurements. The complexes had col- ours typical for Ln（Ⅲ） ions. The carboxylate groups bound as bidentate chelating. On heating to 1173 K in air they decomposed in the same way, at first, dehydrated in one step to anhydrous salts, and then decomposed to the oxides of respective metals with intermediate formation of the oxycarbonates. The enthalpy values of the dehydration process changed from 133.72 to 44.50 kJ/mol. Their solubility in water at 293 K was of the order of 10-4 mol/dm3. The magnetic moments of analysed complexes were determined by Gouy＇s method in the range of 76-303 K.

Giant tunneling magnetoresistance(TMR)has always been a pursuit in the research of magnetic tunnel junctions(MTJ).Two-dimensional(2D)magnetic materials have been used to construct lateral MTJ with high *** we investigated the crystal structure and magnetic property of CrSI monolayer,and found that it is a ferromagnetic semiconductor with a curie temperature of about 180 *** CrSI monolayer with Li adsorption(Li-CrSI)show ferromagnetic half-metallic with a high curie temperature of 300 *** we designed a lateral Li CrSI/CrSI/Li-CrSI monolayer *** TMR of the MTJs along b transport direction is 3 orders of magnitude times larger than that of the a transport direction,which should result from the different spin filtering ability along the two *** TMR of b transport direction in the MTJ is 7.67×10^(14),which is significantly higher than that of any reported lateral MTJs based on 2D *** results provide a promising avenue for designing lateral MTJs with giant TMR and high curie temperature.

Mg-air batteries have attracted tremendous attention as a potential next-generation power source for portable electronics and e-transportation due to their remarkable high theoretical volumetric energy density,environmental sustainability,and ***,the fast hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in NaCl-based aqueous electrolytes impairs the performance of Mg-air batteries and leads to poor specific capacity,low energy density,and low ***,the conventionally used NaCl solute was proposed to be replaced by NaNO_(3)and acetic acid additive as a corrosion inhibitor,therefore an electrolyte engineering for long-life time Mg-air batteries is *** resulting Mg-air batteries based on this optimized electrolyte demonstrate an improved discharge voltage reaching~1.8 V for initial 5 h at a current density of 0.5 mA/cm^(2) and significantly prolonged cells'operational lifetime to over 360 h,in contrast to only~17 h observed in NaCl electrolyte.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry were employed to analyse the composition of surface film and scanning electron microscopy combined with transmission electron microscopy to clarify the morphology changes of the surface layer as a function of acetic acid *** thorough studies of chemical composition and morphology of corrosion products have allowed us to elucidate the working mechanism of Mg anode in this optimized electrolyte for Mg-air batteries.
