Reconstruction of characteristics of sedimentary environments of the Lower Paleozoic Sandstone (hereafter LPS) sequence in the northwestern Russian platform based on granulometric and texture analyses reveals high paleohydrodynamic conditions of sedimentation which decrease to moderate in south-east direction. Determination of quantitative paleolithodynamic parameters showed that the real sedimentation duration was considerably less than the related stratigraphic scale interval that is evidence of long interrupt of sedimentation and re-deposition of the clastic material. Study of paleolithodynamics is significant both for reconstruction of the paleobasin history and assessment of mineral resources.

The minerals of chevkinite group were commonly considered to be anhydrous minerals. The infrared absorption spectrum of natural nonmetamict chevkinite-（Ce） from the aegirine-alkali granite, Miannlng, Sichuan Province, China, exhibited two broad peaks in the 3600-2800 cm^-1 region owing to the OH stretching. The corresponding H20 content required for the charge balance in formula was 1.27%. The O-H. … O bond lengths maight cover from 0.2658 to 0.2794 nm by the correlated OH stretching energies. An electrostatic charge balance for chevkinite-（Ce） based on the assigned site-population from chemical data was calculated without the hydrogen contribution. The resulting empirical bond-valence sum on 06, 08, 02, 03, 05, and 04 ranged from 1.73 to 1.95 vu. The partial substitution of O by OH may occur in four atom sites： 06, 02, 04, and 05. The small differences in the bond-valence sums between the supposed donors and acceptors may mean a mixed donor/acceptor role of the involved oxygen atoms. The IR spectral features between 3394 and 3035 cm-1 consisted of various hydrous species at different structural sites and orientations. The OH groups in the chevkinlte-（Ce） appeared to be involved in local charge imbalance in the structure and to be present when the mineral crystallized hydrothermally.

Major, trace and rare earth element contents of Fe- and Al-rich metapelites from the Korda （Yenisey Ridge） and Amar （Kuznetsk Alatau） formations were determined to examine the nature, origin and evolution of their protoliths. Results indicate that these rocks are the redeposited and metamorphosed products of Precambrian kaolinitic weathering crusts, while the geochemical distinctions between the studied metapelites are determined by different weathering conditions in the source area and tectonic settings. The protolith of the Korda Formation metapelites was produced by erosion products of the post-Archean granitoid rocks, which accumulated under humid climate conditions in shallow-water basins along the continental margin. The geochemical characteristics of the deeper primary deposits of the Amar Formation suggest that volcanogenic material of mafic composition derived from an island-arc environment had a major role in supplying the erosion zone. These results agree with lithofacies data and with the geodynamic reconstruction of the evolution of the Yenisey Ridge and Kuznetsk Alatau during the Mesoproterozoic and Neoproterozoic, respectively. It was shown that REEs had limited mobility during contact metamorphism. The coherent mobility of REEs during collisional metamorphism may be attributed both to mineral reactions responsible for modal changes and to local chemical heterogeneity inherited from the initial protolith.

本研究利用前人1233个亚洲高山流域沉积物宇宙成因核素10Be数据统一计算了地表剥蚀速率,以约束构造、气候和地形如何影响和控制地表剥蚀过程.基于高程数据逐个像元的核素产率,使用蒙特卡洛模拟方法重新计算了10Be流域剥蚀速率.剥蚀速率变化范围从（7.4±0.7）mm ka-1（1σ;青藏高原内部）到（9,646744+777）mm ka-1（1σ;青藏高原南部）跨四个数量级,中位数为186mm ka-1.逐个像元计算的核素产率与传统模型使用质心坐标和平均高程计算的核素产率相比,后者96.6%核素产率被低估,其中高程差越大越被低估.两种方法计算的产率偏差可达40%,究其原因可能是流域高程分布不均和核素产率随海拔和纬度呈非线性变化.通过量化地表剥蚀速率与构造、气候、地形和岩性之间的相关性将有助于推演未知流域的剥蚀速率.从局部小尺度分析,亚热带台湾岛地区剥蚀速率可能主要受降水和新构造驱动的山体滑坡影响,而降水变化范围较窄的青藏高原东部的剥蚀速率主要受控于地形;冰川覆盖的高原地区剥蚀速率受冰川作用影响,如帕米尔、青藏高原内部和南部地区;青藏高原内部剥蚀速率较低是因为较低的降水和较高的侵蚀基准面,从而限制了河流的下切和地表起伏度演化.与局部小尺度强调单一主控因素不同,本研究对亚洲高山流域宏观大尺度进行量化分析发现:（1）地形指标（包括坡度、地形起伏度和河道陡峭指数）与剥蚀速率在千年尺度呈现一致的幂函数关系,而非简单线性;（2）剥蚀速率与气候（包括与海拔相关的降水、温度和植被覆盖度）和新构造活动（地震核密度分布）呈近似幂函数关系,为次要控制因素;（3）岩性与剥蚀速率没有明显的相关性,可能受限于流域复杂的岩性混合和低分辨率的可侵蚀指数数据.

Detailed facies analysis of the Neogene successions of the Pishin Belt （Katawaz Basin） has enabled documentation of successive depositional systems and paleogeographic settings of the basin formed by the collision of the northwestern continental margin of the Indian Plate and the Afghan Block. During the Early Miocene, subaerial sedimentation started after the final closure of the Katawaz Remnant Ocean. Based on detailed field data, twelve facies were recognized in Neogene successions exposed in the Pishin Belt. These facies were further organized into four facies associations i.e. channels, crevasse splay, natural levee and floodplain facies associations. Facies associations and variations provided ample evidence to recognize a number of fluvial architectural components in the succession e.g., low-sinuosity sandy braided river, mixed-load meandering, high-sinuosity meandering channels, single-story sandstone and/or conglomerate channels, lateral accretion surfaces （point bars） and alluvial fans. Neogene sedimentation in the Pishin Belt was mainly controlled by active tectonism and thrusting in response to the oblique collision of the Indian Plate with the Afghan Block of the Eurasian Plate along the Chaman-Nushki Fault. Post Miocene deformation of these formations successively caused them to contribute as an additional source terrain for the younger formations.

X-ray fluorescence scanning with synchrotron radiation was performed to study sediment core records of floods in Amur Bay,Sea of *** of 3–8 mm with abnormally low bromine content were formed by the Razdolnaya River discharge to the central part of the bay during extreme floods,accompanied by severe storms at *** conditions in the region are typical for periods of deep tropical cyclones(typhoons),to which the distinguished interlayers were compared on the *** approach was made possible thanks to the high rate of sedimentation in the bay(3–5 mm/a) and low bioturbation of sediments under anoxic conditions.

The characteristic textures of eclogitic veins infilling the interstitial spaces among zoisite-glaucophanite pillows, the fractures crosscutting massive zoisite-glaucophanites and the relic conduits within the eclogite boudins demonstrate that the eclogitization of glaucophanites was accompanied by the presence of a free fluid phase in the Western Tianshan high-pressure metamorphic belt. Non-planar populations of fluid inclusions, parallel to C-axis, have been preserved within the omphacites in eclogitic veins. The microthermometric results indicate that fluids are low-salinity (1-4 wt%NaCI) aqueous fluids. The chemical compositions of major, trace and rare earth elements of eclogitic veins and related host rocks indicate that the eclogitization of glaucophanites required the addition of external Si and Na elements, and was accompanied by the loss of large-ion lithophile elements, rare earth elements and water. The record of eclogitization of glaucophanites along fractures and zones of high permeability by fluid infiltration has been preserved in the Wetsern Tianshan high-pressure metamorphic belt.

To make inorganic structure data more useful for further studies a five-point list of simple procedures to be followed by authors of crystal structure papers is proposed. 1. A crystal structure should be described with the space group corresponding to its true symmetry. 2. A new structure proposal should be tested, if it is realistic in principle. 3. A structure should be described with a space group in a setting given in the International Tables. 4. For a comparison with other structures the structure data should be standardized with the program STRUCTURE TIDY. 5. 揘ew?structure data should be checked in the databases, Chemical Abstracts or on-line internet resources, if they are really new. The list is supplemented with many explanations, commentaries, examples and references.
