Studying the possibilities of electron beam welding (EBW) and the principles of construction of equipment for electron beam welding,led by academician Boris Evgenyevich Paton,began at the *** Electric welding institute (PWI) in *** resulted in development of the first laboratory-scale plant and welding of different small *** year later the method of electron beam welding turned out to be in great demand:in nuclear power engineering,in production of electric vacuum devices and liquid-fuel rocket *** 1961-1962 owing to effective coordination of work performed at government level,the first production machines for electron beam welding were put into operation at a number of branch *** the next few years,application of electron beam welding became wider,first of all in the above mentioned industries,and simultaneously electron beam welding began to be accepted by aircraft and power engineering *** 1960-s PWI organized in Ukraine full-scale production of power units,developed by it (guns,power sources and control systems) on the basis of Sumy Factory of Electron Microscopes.72 complete sets of power source units of SP-30 type (25 kV,500 mА),330 complete sets of U-250А (30 kV,450 mА),320 complete sets of ELA-60 (60 kV,250,500 and 1000 mА) and ELA-120 (120 kV,1000 mА) were manufactured in different periods of *** October 16th 1969 the first test of electron beam welding and cutting of metals was carried out in ?Soyuz-6? spaceship,that practically initiated the space *** was performed in Vulkan unit developed by *** that in space X-radiation and difficulties with high-voltage insulation could eliminate the possibility of electron beam application,low accelerating voltage (not higher than 8 kV) was used.

Enterprises and their products require corresponding international qualification when they participate in international market competition after China joined WTO. At present, the number of certified welding fabrication companies is still small. However, more and more enterprises are getting to realize the importance, and we have already had the following basic conditions: welding personnel qualification according to the international guidelines and rules, welding standards equivalent to ISO and EN standards, as well as full successful experiences of company certification gained through cooperation between China and Germany. So with additional industries’ support and government’s attention, company certification according to international rules will provide qualification guarantee for welding fabrication companies to participate in international market competition.

An arc light radiation phenomenon in TIG welding process was studied through experiments and theoretical *** arc spectra were acquired under a variety of welding parameters from 200 nm to 1000 nm wavelength rangein TIG. The influence of welding parameters on the arc radiation was discussed. The radiation energy from linesemission mechanisms was calculated and the comparison was made with the one from the continuum emissionmechanisms. The result shows that the radiation energy from the line emission mechanisms is equal to the one fromthe background. Based on the experiments and analysis, a physical model of arc light radiation has been *** this model. the arc plasma was presumed to be in local thermal equilibrium (LTE) with light thinness *** Bolzmann distribution and Saha equation were applied to establish the arc light radiation model. This helps laythe foundation for further mathematical modeling of the arc light radiation.

stability of welding process is the prerequisite and assurance for ideal joint. The structure of stability model and its optimization are the key to on-line evaluation technology of arc welding. Characteristic parameters are extracted from the single transfer period while variation coefficients of the characteristic parameters are concerned for whole welding process of continuous drop transfer. Based on the characteristic parameters and their variation coefficients, stability model of short-circuit arc welding process is established by partial-least-square regression （PLSR） that can overcome multicollinearity of input parameters. The experiment results show that this model can meet the requirement of accuracy.

The LY12 Al alloy was brazed with the adoption of the improved KF CsF AlF 3 flux matching Ag Al Cu Zn filler metal. The shear strength of brazed joint could reach 80% of that of the substrate and the tensile strength of butt brazed joint will be 70% of that of the substrate. This was the great progress against the traditional claim that Al alloy reinforced by heat treatment could not be brazed. The experimental results and theoretical analysis had proved that it was the key issue to remove the MgO oxide film below 503 ℃ . The addition of rare earth La was the effective way to obtain better mechanical properties of the filler metal as well as brazed joints.

Three compositions of Ag-Cu-In-Ti system brazing alloys were designed for joining SiO2 f/SiO2 ceramic composite to Nb *** wettability of the three alloys on the composite was studied with the sessile drop *** results showed that after heating at 1073 K for 30 min,they exhibited contact angles of 74°,83° and 86°,*** brazing alloys were fabricated into foils by rapid solidification *** the three brazing filler alloys the joints brazed with AgCu-10 In-5 Ti at 1073 K for 10 min presented the maximum average shear strength of 30.9 *** the brazing process the active element Ti diffused strongly from the filler alloy to the composite surface and a reaction layer with a thickness of 2-3 μm was *** metallurgical bonding was also achieved at the Nb *** interface structure of the joint brazed with the AgCu-10 In-5 Ti alloy can be described as the following sequence:SiO2 f/SiO2→SiO2+Cu3 Ti3 O→SiO2+TiO+Ti5 Si4→Ag(s,s)+(Cu-Ti)→***,for the filler alloy with 4.0 wt% Ti content the joint strength was only 15.8 MPa.

WC powder was injected onto the surface of Q235 steel by laser melt injection (LMI). The influence of process parameters was studied. The microstructure and composition of the coatings were analyzed by SEM, XRD and EDS. The hardness and wear-resistant property of the coatings and Q235 steel were measured. The results show that LMI layer can be achieved only under the condition that process parameters meet the strict requirements. By optimizing the process parameter, excellent coatings can be acquired by injecting WC powder onto the surface of Q235 steel. The microstructure in the coatings is complex, which consists of WC, W2C and M6C(Fe3W3C-Fe4W2C) phases. The difference of Fe3W3C microstructure in different zones of the coatings is obvious. Both the compositions of the reaction layers around the particle and dendrite precipitation carbides in the upper coating are Fe3W3C. The average hardness of LMI layer is above HV 900, which is about four times that of Q235 steel. The friction coefficient of LMI layer is only one quarter that of the substrate, which indicates that the wear resistance of the coatings is enhanced sharply.

Grid pattern was textured on Ti-6 Al-4 V alloy(TC4)substrate surface by nanosecond laser *** joining of carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite(CFRTP)to TC4 joints were performed,and the effect of texture grid depth was *** contact angle of molten CFRTP on textured TC4 surface was measured and the tensile-shear force was *** fracture surface and interface morphology were *** results indicated that the wettability of molten CFRTP on TC4 surface improved remarkably after laser textured *** force of CFRTP/TC4 joints was increased by 156%after laser textured TC4 *** the depth of grid was deeper than 100μm,contact angle increased and incomplete filling of molten CFRTP in grid occurred,the shear force thus decreased ***-carbon fibers mixture was adhered on the fracture surface of TC4,and the variation tendency of adhesion ratio was consistent with that of shear ***4 matrix was exfoliated from substrate and adhered at the fracture surface of CFRTP,indicating stronger mechanical interlocking occurred at the joining interface after laser textured TC4 *** mechanical interlocking,compound layer consisted of CTi_(0.42)V_(1.58)carburization phase was also confirmed at interface,suggesting that chemical bonding also occurred at the joining interface.
