High‑Valence Transition Metal Modified FeNiV Oxides Anchored on Carbon Fiber Cloth for Efficient Oxygen Evolution Catalysis

Developing efficient and durable non-noble metal-based oxygen evolution catalysts is of great importance for electrochemical water ***,we report a new and facile strategy for controllable synthesis of high-valence Mo modified FeNiV oxides as efficient OER *** Mo-dopant displays a significant influence on the valence state of Fe species in the catalysts,which lead to tunable OER *** the feed ratio of Mo-dopant is 5%,the Mo-modified FeNiV oxide shows the best OER performance in terms of low overpotential(237 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm^(−2)),Tafel slope(38 mV per decade),and high mass activity,which exceeds its counterparts and most reported OER ***,by assembling the catalyst with a carbon fiber cloth,the fabricated water-splitting device exhibits excellent activity and longterm durability in alkaline electrolyte compared with commercial catalysts equipped *** work not only provides a series of Mo-modified FeNiV-based oxides as high-performance OER catalysts but also offers a new pathway to tune the charge states of OER active centers.

Precursor compounds(PCs)link quantum dots(QDs)and magic-sized clusters(MSCs),which is pivotal in the conversion between QDs and ***,for the first time,we report the transformation,synthesis,and composition of a type of ZnSe *** PCs can be directly transformed to two different MSCs with the assistance of octylamine and acetic acid at room *** two types of MSCs exhibit sharp absorption peaks at 299 and 328 nm which are denoted as MSC-299 and *** the preparation of ZnSe PCs,diphenylphosphine(DPP)as an additive plays a key role which not only inhibits the thermal decomposition of Zn precursor,but also acts as a reducing agent to reduce the by-products produced in the *** composition was explored by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,energy dispersive spectrometer,matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectra with ZnSe PC powder appeared as white powder after purifying by toluene(Tol)and methanol(MeOH).The results indicate that the molar ratio of Zn/Se is 2:1 with a molecular of〜3,350 ***,we propose that the molecular formula of ZnSe PCs is Zn_(32)Se_(16).In addition,at the molecular level,the covalent bond of Zn-Se is formed in ZnSe *** study offers a deeper understanding of the transformation from PCs to MSCs and for the first time proposes the composition of ***,this research provides us with a new understanding of the role of DPP in the synthesis of colloidal semiconductor nanoparticles.

Preparation and Characterization of Controlled Heparin Release Waterborne Polyurethane Coating Systems

In this study, to improve hemocompatibility of biomedical materials, a waterborne polyurethane （WPU）haepafin release coating system （WPU/heparin） is fabricated via simply blending biodegradable WPU emulsions with heparin aqueous solutions. The surface compositions and hydrophilicity of these WPU/heparin blend coatings are characterized by attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy （ATR-FTIR） and water contact angle measurements. These WPU/heparin blend coatings show effectively controlled release of heparin, as determined by the toluidine blue method. Furthermore, the biocompatibility and anticoagulant activity of these blend coatings are evaluated based on the protein adsorption, platelet adhesion, activated partial thromboplastin time （APTT）, thrombin time （TT）, hemolysis, and cytotoxicity. The results indicate that better hemocompatibility and cytocompatilibity are obtained due to blending heparin into this waterborne polyurethane. Thus, the WPU/heparin blend coating system is expected to be valuable for various biomedical applications.

Cancer is the leading cause that threatens human life expectancy due to the lack of effective *** immunotherapy has been explored to improve the body's immune system against cancer and accompanied by promising results in recent *** 15(IL-15),a pleiotropic immunomodulator,is critical for immune cells development and displays great anti-tumor potential in both preclinical and clinical *** this study,superagonist IL-15 plasmid(psIL-15)consisting of IL-15Rα-sushi-linker-IL-15 was constructed in order to secret superagonist IL-15(sIL-15)in tumor site.A gene delivery system through self-assembly by methylated polyethylene glycol-b-polylactic acid-b-methylated polyethylene glycol(m PEG-PLA-m PEG)and 1,2-dioleoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane(DOTAP),named DMAM,was designed to deliver *** study showed that DMAM/psIL-15 could successfully deliver psIL-15 to tumor cells and the supernatants of the tumor cells could further stimulate lymphocytes proliferation as well as activation in *** delivery of DMAM/psIL-15 in animal models demonstrated significant tumor inhibition through enhancing immune cells responses,reducing angiogenesis,promoting tumor cell apoptosis and inhibiting proliferation,with no evidence of system *** results indicate that DMAM/psIL-15 may be a promising strategy for cancer immunotherapy.

Ultrasonic Testing Combined with Pattern Recognition for the Detection of Kissing Bonds

Kissing bonds are defects in the adhesive bonds with intimate contact of touching surface but considerably lowered shear strength. Their detection specifically in the aerospace area is so not satisfactory. Usually, kissing bonds are inconspicuous in ultrasonic C-scans. However, the determination of attributes in the time domain and the frequency domain of an ultrasound signal provides the opportunity to derive a pattern for bonded area. Deviations from the pattern found in inconspicuous bonding areas indicate kissing bonds. The survey described here deals with the manufacturing of adhesively joint samples that purposefully include kissing bonds, as well as potential solutions for detecting them through ultrasonic testing combined with pattern recognition. The properties of the epoxy-based adhesive were varied by changing the mixing ratios between resin and hardener. Samples with a mixing ratio far apart from the manufacturer’s recommendation with an inconspicuous appearance in a C-scan, but low shear strength values were taken for further evaluation. After a definition and learning phase, a 100 percent hit rate to separate good bondings from kissing bonds could be derived in a blind test. The discriminating feature found is due to the frequency shift between good and kissing bonds as well as the relative amplitude of the second peak.
