Multi-objective constructal design for quadrilateral heat generation body based on thermal-entransy theory and NSGA-Ⅱ

Based on thermal-entransy theory, the multi-objective constructal design of quadrilateral heat generation body(HGB) with similar shapes of leaves is studied further. The relationship between the aspect ratio of quadrilateral HGB and average temperature difference based on thermal-entransy dissipation is compared with that between the aspect ratio of quadrilateral HGB and the maximum temperature difference(MTD). The relationship between a composite function, consisting of linear weighting sum of the average temperature difference and MTD, and aspect ratio is obtained, and the optimal aspect ratios under minimum composite function with different weighting coefficients are obtained. Using the NSGA-Ⅱ algorithm, the Pareto frontier containing a series of compromise results of average temperature difference and MTD is obtained, and optimization results are compared using the deviation index. There is no aspect ratio to make both MTD and average temperature difference reach the minimum, and the optimal aspect ratio under the minimum MTD is smaller than that under the minimum average temperature difference. The optimal aspect ratio is obtained by making the composite function reach the minimum, and the optimal aspect ratios obtained by minimizing the composite function with different weighting coefficients are different. Compared with the construct of the initial design, the value of the composite function with optimal construct decreases by 1.9%, and the aspect ratio of the quadrilateral HGB decreases by 9.1%. The average temperature difference with the optimal construct increases by 2.1%, and the MTD with the optimal construct decreases by 5.6%. The deviation index under multi-objective optimization is smaller than that under single-objective optimization, and the obtained construct has better comprehensive thermal conductivity. Compared with TOPSIS and LINMAP decision-making methods, the average temperature difference with composite function optimization increases by 0.5

The full array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory(LHAASO)has been in operation since July *** its kilometer-square array(KM2A),we optimized the selection criteria for very high and ultrahigh energyγ-rays using data collected from August 2021 to August 2022,resulting in an improvement in significance of the detection in the Crab Nebula of approximately 15%,compared with that of previous *** the implementation of these new selection criteria,the angular resolution was also significantly improved by approximately 10%at tens of *** aspects of the full KM2A array performance,such as the pointing error,were also calibrated using the Crab *** resulting energy spectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy range of 10-1000 TeV are well fitted by a log-parabola model,which is consistent with the previous results from LHAASO and other experiments.

A simple modification to the classical SIR model to estimate the proportion of under-reported infections using case studies in flu and COVID-19

Background:Under-reporting and,thus,uncertainty around the true incidence of health events is common in all public health reporting *** the problem of underreporting is acknowledged in epidemiology,the guidance and methods available for assessing and correcting the resulting bias are ***:We aim to design a simple modification to the Susceptible e Infected e Removed(SIR)model for estimating the fraction or proportion of reported infection ***:The suggested modification involves rescaling of the classical SIR model producing its mathematically equivalent version with explicit dependence on the reporting parameter(true proportion of cases reported).We justify the rescaling using the phase plane analysis of the SIR model system and show how this rescaling parameter can be estimated from the data along with the other model ***:We demonstrate how the proposed method is cross-validated using simulated data with known disease cases and then apply it to two empirical reported data sets to estimate the fraction of reported cases in Missoula County,Montana,USA,using:(1)flu data for 2016e2017 and(2)COVID-19 data for fall of ***:We establish with the simulated and COVID-19 data that when most of the disease cases are presumed reported,the value of the additional reporting parameter in the modified SIR model is close or equal to one,so that the original SIR model is appropriate for data ***,the flu example shows that when the reporting parameter is close to zero,the original SIR model is not accurately estimating the usual rate parameters,and the re-scaled SIR model should be *** research demonstrates the role of under-reporting of disease data and the importance of accounting for underreporting when modeling simulated,endemic,and pandemic disease *** reporting the“true”number of disease cases will have downstream impacts on predictions of disease dynamics.A simple parameter adjustment

As a versatile energy carrier,H_(2) is considered as one of the most promising sources of clean energy to tackle the current energy crisis and environmental concerns,which can be produced from photocatalytic water ***,solar-driven photocatalytic H_(2) production from pure water in the absence of sacrificial reagents remains a great ***,we demonstrate that the incorporation of Ru single atoms(SAs)into ZnIn_(2)S_(4)(Ru-ZIS)can enhance the light absorption,reduce the energy barriers for water dissociation,and construct a channel(Ru-S)for separating photogenerated electron−hole pairs,as a result of a significantly enhanced photocatalytic water splitting ***,the productivity of H_(2) reaches 735.2μmol g^(-1) h^(-1) under visible light irradiation in the absence of sacrificial *** apparent quantum efficiency(AQE)for H_(2) evolution reaches 7.5% at 420 nm,with a solarto-hydrogen(STH)efficiency of 0.58%,which is much higher than the value of natural synthetic plants(~0.10%).Moreover,Ru-ZIS exhibits steady productivity of H_(2) even after exposure to ambient conditions for 330 *** work provides a unique strategy for constructing charge transfer channels to promote the separation of photogenerated electron−hole pairs,which may motivate the fundamental researches on catalyst design for photocatalysis and beyond.

We used the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)to search for the molecular emissions in the L-band between 1.0 and 1.5 GHz toward four comets,C/2020 F3(NEOWISE),C/2020 R4(ATLAS),C/2021 A1(Leonard),and 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko during or after their perihelion *** of molecular transition lines fall in this low-frequency range,many attributed to complex organic or prebiotic *** conducted a blind search for the possible molecular lines in this frequency range in those comets and could not identify clear signals of molecular emissions in the *** several molecules have been detected at high frequencies of greater than100 GHz in comets,our results confirm that it is challenging to detect molecular transitions in the L-band frequency *** non-detection of L-band molecular lines in the cometary environment could rule out the possibility of unusually strong lines,which could be caused by the masers or non-LTE *** the line strengths are predicted to be weak,for FAST,using the ultra-wide bandwidth receiver and improving the radio frequency interference environments would enhance the detectability of those molecular transitions at low frequencies in the future.

The definition of a reference state close to the realistic atmosphere in an atmospheric model is essential for deriving prognostic deviations and improving numerical accuracy. In this study, a new dynamical framework allowing easy switching between a one-dimensional (1D) and a three-dimensional (3D) time-independent reference state is developed for the semi-implicit semi-Lagrangian solver in a global non-hydrostatic atmospheric model on Yin–Yang grids. The 3D reference state is introduced with consideration of additional horizontal gradient terms of referencestate terms, which is different from the 1D reference *** is characterized by reduced magnitude of deviations,more accurate pressure gradient force, as well as alleviated numerical noise. Four idealized benchmark tests and multiple full-physics real-case forecasts are carried out to assess the impact of the 3D and 1D reference states. The 3D reference state shows significant advantages in the simulation of atmospheric transport and wave propagation in the idealized experiments. In the real-case forecasts, batched forecasts from June to August 2021 show a comprehensive improvement in medium-range prediction by using the 3D reference state. The new scheme achieves an enhanced prediction skill for large-scale circulation and extends the effective forecast period by 0.8 days in the Northern Hemisphere.
