Multimode nonlinear optics is used to overcome a long-standing limitation of fiber optics,tightly phase locking several spatial modes and enabling the coherent transport of a wave packet through a multimode fiber.A similar problem is encountered in the temporal compression of multimillijoule pulses to few-cycle duration in hollow gas-filled *** the fiber length to up to 6 m,hollow fibers have recently reached 1 TW of peak *** the remarkable utility of the hollow fiber compressor and its widespread application,however,no analytical model exists to enable insight into the scaling behavior of maximum compressibility and peak *** we extend a recently introduced formalism for describing mode locking to the analog scenario of locking spatial fiber modes *** formalism unveils the coexistence of two soliton branches for anomalous modal dispersion and indicates the formation of stable spatiotemporal light bullets that would be unstable in free space,similar to the temporal cage solitons in mode-locking *** model enables deeper understanding of the physical processes behind the formation of such light bullets and predicts the existence of multimode solitons in a much wider range of fiber types than previously considered possible.

We have coupled an upright HG mode into a fiber-optic waveguide and used the application of stress to generate a Laguerre-Gaussian laser mode. We have generalized previous results by McGloin et al. by using a polarized input beam, a true 3-mode fiber and by applying the stress on a stripped piece of the optical waveguide. These generalizations are necessary in order to perform quantum information experiments and obtain reliable information on the stress imposed on the optical fiber.

Potassium-ion batteries(PIBs) as a promising supplement to lithium-ion batteries have drawn great attention attributing to the abundant potassium resources, the fast-ionic conductivity of potassium ions in electrolyte, and the low standard redox potential of potassium. However, the development of PIBs is still in its infancy, which is largely restricted by the fact that the electrode materials, especially the cathode materials of PIBs, are far from satisfactory in practical applications regarding the capacity, voltage, and cycle life. Therefore, most of current research efforts have been devoted to exploring new and high-performance electrode materials for achieving PIBs with high capacity and voltage as well as excellent cyclability. In this review,the recent advancements on cathode materials for PIBs are specially summarized. Besides, technological developments, scientific challenges, and future research opportunities of cathode materials for PIBs are also briefly outlooked.

Employing an approach based on the Green functions of Landau-gauge QCD,some selected results from a calculation of meson and baryon properties are presented.A rainbow-ladder truncation to the quark Dyson-Schwinger equation is used to arrive at a unified description of mesons and baryons by solving BetheSalpeter and covariant Faddeev equations,respectively.

Some mathematical aspects of the Lie groups SU (2) and in realization by two pairs of boson annihilation and creation operators and in the parametrization by the vector parameter instead of the Euler angles and the vector parameter c of Fyodorov are developed. The one-dimensional root scheme of SU (2) is embedded in two-dimensional root schemes of some higher Lie groups, in particular, in inhomogeneous Lie groups and is represented in text and figures. The two-dimensional fundamental representation of SU (2) is calculated and from it the composition law for the product of two transformations and the most important decompositions of general transformations in special ones are derived. Then the transition from representation of SU (2) to of is made where in addition to the parametrization by vector the convenient parametrization by vector c is considered and the connections are established. The measures for invariant integration are derived for and for SU (2) . The relations between 3D-rotations of a unit sphere to fractional linear transformations of a plane by stereographic projection are discussed. All derivations and representations are tried to make in coordinate-invariant way.

The η meson can be bound to atomic *** search is discussed in the form of final state interaction for the reactions dp → 3 Heη and dd → 4 Heη.For the latter case tensor polarized deuterons were used in order to extract the s-wave *** both reactions complex scattering lengths are deduced： a 3 Heη = ± 10.7±0.8 ＋0.1 -0.5 ＋i· 1.5±2.6 ＋1.0-0.9 fm and a 4 Heη = [±（3.1±0.5）＋i·（0±0.5）] *** a two-nucleon transfer reaction under quasi-free conditions,p^ 27 Al → ^3 HeX,was *** system X can be the bound 25 Mg  η at *** a possible decay of an intermediate N  （1535） is required,a highly significant bump shows up in the missing mass *** data give for a bound state a binding energy of 13.3±1.6 MeV and a width of σ=4.4±1.3 MeV.
