Printing accuracy tracking with 2D optical microscopy and super-resolution metamaterial-assisted 1D terahertz spectroscopy

Printable electronics is a promising manufacturing technology for the potential production of low-cost flexible electronic devices,ranging from displays to active *** is known that rapid printing of conductive ink on a flexible substrate is vulnerable to several sources of variation during the manufacturing ***,this process is still not being subjected to a quality control method that is both non-invasive and in *** address this issue,we propose controlling the printing accuracy by monitoring the spatial distribution of the deposited ink using terahertz(THz)*** parameters studied are the printing speed of an industrial roll-to-roll press with flexography printing units and the pre-calibration compression,or expansion factor,for a pattern printed on a flexible plastic *** pattern,which is carefully selected,has Babinet’s electromagnetic transmission properties in the THz frequency *** validate our choice,we quantified the geometric variations of the printed pattern by visible microscopy and compared its accuracy using one-dimensional THz *** study shows a remarkable agreement between visible microscopic observation of the printing performance and the signature of the THz ***,under specific conditions,one-dimensional(1D)THz information from a resonant pattern can be more accurate than two-dimensional(2D)microscopy *** result paves the way for a simple strategy for non-invasive and contactless in situ monitoring of printable electronics production.

A linear Quadratic Controller design Incorporating a Parametric Sensitivity Constraint

The purpose of this paper is to propose a synthesis method of parametric sensitivity constrained linear quadratic (SClQ) controller for an uncertain linear time invariant (lTI) system. System sensitivity to parameter variation is handled through an additional quadratic trajectory parametric sensitivity term in the standard lQ criterion to be minimized. The main purpose here is to find a suboptimal linear quadratic control taking explicitly into account the parametric uncertainties. The paper main contribution is threefold: 1) A descriptor system approach is used to show that the underlying singular linear-quadratic optimal control problem leads to a non-standard Riccati equation. 2) A solution to the proposed control problem is then given based on a connection to the so-called lur'e matrix equations. 3) A synthesis method of multiple parametric SClQ controllers is proposed to cover the whole parametric uncertainty while degrading as less as possible the intrinsic robustness properties of each local linear quadratic controller. Some examples are presented in order to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach.

Exact Solution of D-Dimensional Klein-Gordon Oscillator with Minimal length

Specific modifications of the usual canonical commutation relations between position and momentumoperators have been proposed in the literature in order to implement the idea of the existence of a minimal observablelength. Here, we study a consequence of this proposal in relativistic quantum mechanics by solving in the momentumspace representation the Klein-Gordon oscillator in arbitrary dimensions. The exact bound states spectrum and thecorresponding momentum space wave function are obtained. Following Chang et al. (Phys. Rev. D 65 (2002) 125027),we discuss constraint that can be placed on the minimal length by measuring the energy levels of an electron in a penningtrap.

Reconstructing f(T) modified gravity from ECHde and ECNAde models

We investigate alternative candidates to dark energy(de) that can explain the current state of the Universe in the framework of the generalized teleparallel theory of gravity f(T), where T denotes the torsion scalar. To achieve this, we carry out a series of reconstructions taking into account the ordinary and entropy-corrected versions of the holographic and new agegraphic de *** models are used as alternatives to de in the literature in order to describe the current state of our Universe. It is remarked that the proposed models indicate behavior akin to phantom or quintessence models. Furthermore, we also generate the parameters of the equation of state associated with entropy-corrected models and we observe a phase transition between the quintessence state and phantom state as it is shown by the recent observational data. We also investigate the stability of these models and we create the {r-s} trajectories and compare with the ΛCDM limit. The behavior of certain physical parameters such as the speed of sound and the Statefinder diagnostic pair {r-s} is compatible with the current observational data.

On stability behaviors of 5D M-theory black objects

Using N=2 supergravity formalism,we investigate certain behaviors of five-dimensional black objects from the compactification of M-theory on a Calabi-Yau *** manifold has been constructed as the intersection of two homogeneous polynomials of degrees(ω+2,1)and(2,1)in a product of two weighted projective spaces given by WP^(4)(ω,1,1,1,1)×P^(1).First,we determine the allowed electric charge regions of the BPS and non BPS black holes obtained by wrapping M2-branes on appropriate two cycles in such a proposed Calabi-Yau *** that,we calculate the entropy of these solutions which takes a maximal value corresponding to ω=1 defining the ordinary projective space P^(4).For generic values of ω,we show that the non BPS states are ***,we conduct a similar study of five-dimensional black *** the allowed magnetic charge regions of the BPS and non BPS black stringy solutions derived from M5-branes on dual divisors,we calculate the tension taking a minimal value for P^(4).By determining the recombination factor,we show that the non-BPS black string states are stable in the allowed regions in the magnetic charge space.

Fresh water is one of the most significant resources for human activities and survival,and irrigation is among the most important uses of *** sustainibility and performance of irrigation canals can be greatly affected by sediment transport and *** our previous works,we proposed a lattice Boltzmann model for simulating a free surface flow in an irrigation canal,as an alternative to more traditional models mainly based on shallow water *** we introduce the sedimentation phenomenon into our model by adding a new algorithm,based on the earlier work by ***,*** and ***[9,11,12,27].Transport,erosion,deposition and toppling of sediments are taken into account and enable the global sedimentation algorithm to simulate different transport modes such as bed load and suspended *** the present work,we study both the behaviour of a sediment deposit located at an underflow submerged gate(depending on the gate opening and the flow discharge)and the influence of the presence of such a deposit on the *** numerical and experimental validations have been *** experiments were realized on the micro-canal of the lCIS laboratory at Valence,*** comparisons between simulations and experiments give good qualitative agreement.

Positron Energy levels in Cd-Based Semiconductors

Using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave FP-lAPW method within local density ap-proximation lDA, we have studied positron diffusion and surface emission in Cd-based semiconductors. This requires the calculation of electron and positron band structures. In the absence of experimental and theoretical data for CdX (X=S,Se,Te) we have treated the Si, which has been studied by several authors, as a test case. Predictive results on positron effective masses, deformation potentials, positron work functions, diffusion constants and positron mobilities are presented for CdX (X=S, Se, Te). Our calculated data for Si are compared with experimental and recent theoretical results.

Enhanced photocatalytic activities of silicon nanowires/graphene oxide nanocomposite:Effect of etching parameters

Homogeneous and vertically aligned silicon nanowires(SiNWs)were successfully fabricated using silver assisted chemical etching *** prepared samples were characterized using scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy and atomic force *** degradation properties of graphene oxide(GO)modified SiNWs have been *** found that the SiNWs morphology depends on etching time and etchant *** SiNWs length could be tuned from 1 to 42μm,respectively when varying the etching time from 5 to 30 *** etchant concentration was found to accelerate the etching process;doubling the concentrations increases the length of the SiNWs by a factor of two for fixed etching *** in bundle morphology were also studied as function of etching *** SiNWs diameter was found to be independent of etching time or etchant composition while the size of the SiNWs bundle increases with increasing etching time and etchant *** addition of GO was found to improve significantly the photocatalytic activity of SiNWs.A strong correlation between etching parameters and photocatalysis efficiency has been observed,mainly for SiNWs prepared at optimum etching time and etchant concentrations of 10 min and 4:1:8.A degradation of92%was obtained which further improved to 96%by addition of hydrogen *** degradation efficiency of 16%and 31%has been observed for bare Si and GO/bare Si samples *** obtained results demonstrate that the developed SiNWs/GO composite exhibits excellent photocatalytic performance and could be used as potential platform for the degradation of organic pollutants.

We let a set of beam splitters of vacuum mode with a chosen transmittance parameter η in interaction with a separable coherent *** model induces the production of an attenuated quantum channels based on entangled optical ***,the decoherence effect is exploited positively here to generate such kind of quantum ***,the amplitude damping and the entanglement amount of these produced channels are enhanced thereafter by a probabilistic quasi amplification process using again a 50 : 50 beam splitter.

On M-theory on real toric fibrations

Borrowing ideas from elliptic complex geometry, we approach M-theory compactifications on real fibrations. Precisely, we explore real toric equations rather than complex ones exploited in F-theory and related dual models. These geometries have been built by moving real toric manifolds over real bases. Using topological changing behaviors, we unveil certain data associated with gauge sectors relying on affine lie symmetries.
