Introduction: Body Dysmorphia Disorder (BDD) is a mental disorder characterized by an obsessive focus on a perceived defect in appearance. This disorder can be dangerous or life-threatening. Hence, there is the need for special attention. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of Body Dysmorphia Disorder (BDD) and to identify the factors associated with it. Methods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study that took place from december 2020 to October 2021, with a census of all medical students enrolled at the University of Parakou for the 2020-2021 academic year and who volunteered to participate. DSM 5 diagnostic criteria were used to assess BDD, and the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale Modified for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD-YBOCS) was used to assess its severity. Results: A total of 669 people were included in the study. The prevalence of probable cases of BDD was 10.31%. Gender (female) (OR = 2.49;IC 95%: [1.45 - 4.26];p depressive disorders (OR = 2.4;IC 95%: [1.12 - 5.15];p = 0.025), mockery/teasing or negative comments about physique (OR = 3.54;IC 95%: [2.06 - 6.12];p deation or behavior. Conclusion: Although little studied and little diagnosed, Body Dysmorphia Disorder (BDD) is a reality in the student environment of northern Benin. Further studies are needed to more define BDD in the Beninese socio-cultural context.

Gold nanoparticles dispersed Y2O3 films were prepared through a sol-gel method by using yttrium acetate and Au nanoparticles colloid as precursors. The films were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and UV-VIS absorption spectra. XRD patterns and TEM images of Y2O3 ＋ Au films give the same resuits on structure and particle size as that of pure Y2O3 films. The surface plasma resonance （SPR） of Au nanoparticles in Y2O3 ＋ Au film was observed around 550 nm in the absorption spectrum and its position shifts to red with increasing annealing temperature is caused by the increase of dielectric constant of Y2O3 matrix and the size of Au nanoparticles. The second and third order nonlinear optical effects of Y2O3 ＋ Au films were also observed. The photoluminescent properties of Y2O3 ： Eu ＋ Au films were investigated and results indicate that there exist an energy transfer from Eu^3 ＋ to Au nanoparticles and this energy transfer decreases the emission of Eu^3 ＋ in Y2O3 ： Eu ＋ Au film.

This work aims at the characterization of the clay of the locality of Dolisie for its valorization. The mineralogical analysis was determined by the following techniques (DRX, IR, ATG and ATD), chemical analysis was determined by ICP-AES, CEC was assessed by the Metson method. The geothermal properties were determined by the granulometric analysis of the clay soil and allowed us to position the Dolisie clay in the texture triangle, the landings limits obtained allowed to place the Dolisie clay in the abacus of Casagrande and on the workability map of Bain and Highy. Chemical analysis showed that silica alumina as well as iron oxides are the major constituents in Dolisie clay The mineralogical balance showed that kaolinite and illite have similar percentages which are (20.51%) kaolinite, (28.08) illites. This leads us to believe that kaolinite is not the dominant mineral and the IR spectrum shows that kaolinite is poorly crystallized.

Background: Anastatica hierochuntica L. (Brassicaceae) has been claimed to treat various conditions, including complicated childbirth. The principal objective of this research was to provide scientific evidence on the contractile effect of the aqueous and hydroethanolic extracts of the whole plant from A. hierochuntica during labor. Method: Qualitative and quantitative methods helped identify and quantify the phytoconstituents in both extracts. The antioxidant activity was studied using four standard methods (ABTS, DPPH, FRAP, and LPO). Results: The inhibitory power of the extracts on pro-inflammatory enzymes such as 15-lipoxygenase and phospholipase A2 was determined. The contractile effects of the extracts were evaluated using isolated pregnant mice uteri. Steroids, triterpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, coumarins, and reduced compounds were identified in both extracts. The hydroethanolic extract exhibited higher content of hydrolyzable tannins (15.07 ± 0.24 mg tannic acid equivalent/g) than the aqueous decoction (11.8 ± 0.69 mg TAE/g). The extracts demonstrated the ability to scavenge DPPH and ABTS radicals, reduce ferric ions, and inhibit especially lipid peroxidation. No significant difference was noted in the phospholipase inhibition between the extracts and betamethasone. The hydroethanolic extract displayed the most significant anti-lipoxygenase activity with an IC50 value of 55.82 ± 1.15 μg/mL. The lethal dose (LD50) of extracts was estimated to be superior to 2000 mg/kg body weight (bw). The ability of the samples to produce one cm amplitude of contraction at 50% effective concentrations (EC50) was 5.33 × 10−8 ± 0.32 mg/mL for oxytocin, 1.51 ± 0.08 mg/mL for aqueous extract and 3.57 ± 0.61 mg/mL for hydroethanolic extract. Conclusion: These findings could provide evidence for using Anastatica hierochuntica to facilitate childbirth.

Mn Effect on Nonlinear and Structural Properties of <110>Oriented PZN-4.5PT Single Crystals

Ferroelectric single crystals Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PZN-PT) are promising full materials for non resonant or large bandwidth transducers due to the large values of their piezoelectric properties (d ij , k ij ) and their low mechanical quality factor (Q ij ). Many studies on oriented PZN-4.5PT single crystals were carried out but it is very difficult to find research findings on oriented Mn doped PZN-PT. Thus, investigations were made using XRD, Raman and EPR characterization for oriented PZN-4.5PT grown through the Flux method. Mn doping effect on structural, dielectric, mechanical and piezoelectric properties with two values of Mn percentage (1 and 2 mol%) are also reported in this paper. Through the XRD study, the lattice parameters of doped PZN-PT crystals are slightly increased compared to the undoped one but the Mn didn’t change its structure. The room temperature dielectric permittivity along direction is about 1572 and 1626 (respectively 1% and 2% Mn doped crystals) which are much lower than that of the undoped PZN-4.5PT (2553). The remnant polarization and coercive field of oriented doped crystal measured at 1 KHz are respectively 30 μC/cm2 and 4.30 kV/cm (PZN-4.5PT), 32 μC/cm2 and 6.10 kV/cm (PZN-4.5PT + 1% Mn) and 28 μC/cm2 and 7.30 kV/cm (for the 2% Mn doped crystal). The mechanical quality factor Qm changed from 139 to 441 respectively for the pure and 1% Mn doped single crystals at room temperature while it decreases slightly to 336 for the 2 mol% Mn doped.

Natural Radioactivity Measurement and Dose Assessment in Soil Samples from Some Selected Areas of Mali

This is the first time that a study applies the gamma ray spectroscopy using a high purity germanium to evaluate the terrestrial gamma radiation level by detector in selected regions of Mali. The results reveal that the activity concentrations of naturally occurring 226Ra, 232Th and 40K radionuclides ranges between respectively 17.26 ±1.81 and 105.43 ±10.36;20.41 ±2.52 and 180.85 ±19.69;41.33 ±8.26 and 627.63 ±85.62 Bq⋅kg−1. The measures of radium equivalent activity (Raeq), absorbed dose rates (ADR), annual effective dose rate (AEDR), external hazard index (Hex), internal hazard index (Hin) and excess lifetime cancer risk (ELCR) were evaluated. Some of the obtained values exceed the recommended safe levels. Further studies are necessary to constitute a baseline reference data about the terrestrial radiation in Mali.

The present work deals with the study of the thermal performances of a convective dryer for fruits and vegetables. This dryer, operating with energy generated from the combustion of biomass in a boiler connected to a water/air heat exchanger could be a solution to the problematic of energy related to drying. An experimental and theoretical study is carried out on the temperature profile inside the dryer. For this purpose, 10.3 kg of tomatoes were dried on the experimental setup. The operation lasted about 16 hours and reduced the moisture content from 93.8% to 12% in wet basis. The overall thermal efficiency of the convective dryer during the trial is 10.76%. For the theoretical study, the dryer components (boiler, water/air exchanger and drying chamber) are first modeled individually;the different sub-programs are then coupled to form the convective dryer program. The method of global heat balances combined with the one called “ε-NUT” is used. The set of equations is discretized using the implicit method of finite differences, then solved with the Gauss algorithm in Fortran 90. The theoretical results obtained are in good agreement with those measured.

Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage(SAGD)as a successful enhanced oil recovery(EOR)process has been applied to extract heavy and extra heavy *** amount of global heavy oil resources exists in carbonate reservoirs which are mostly naturally fractured *** clastic reservoirs,few studies were carried out to determine the performance of SAGD in carbonate *** though SAGD is a highly promising technique,several uncertainties and unanswered questions still exist and they should be clarified for expansion of SAGD methods to world wide applications especially in naturally fractured *** this communication,the effects of some operational and reservoir parameters on SAGD processes were investigated in a naturally fractured reservoir with oil wet rock using CMG-STARS thermal *** purpose of this study was to investigate the role of fracture properties including fracture orientation,fracture spacing and fracture permeability on the SAGD performance in naturally fractured ***,one operational parameter was also studied;one new well configuration,staggered well pair was *** indicated that fracture orientation influences steam expansion and oil production from the horizontal well *** was also found that horizontal fractures have unfavorable effects on oil production,while vertical fractures increase the production rate for the horizontal ***,an increase in fracture spacing results in more oil production,because in higher fracture spacing model,steam will have more time to diffuse into matrices and heat up the entire ***,an increase in fracture permeability results in process enhancement and ultimate recovery ***,diagonal change in the location of injection wells(staggered model)increases the recovery efficiency in long-term production plan.
