With ultrafast laser systems reaching presently 10 PW peak power or operating at high repetition rates,research towards ensuring the long-term,trouble-free performance of all laser-exposed optical components is *** work is focused on providing insight into the optical material behavior at fluences below the standardized laser-induced damage threshold(LIdT)value by implementing a simultaneous dual analysis of surface emitted particles using a Langmuir probe(LP)and the target current(TC).HfO_(2) and ZrO_(2) thin films deposited on fused silica substrates by pulsed laser deposition at various O_(2) pressures for defect and stoichiometry control were irradiated by Gaussian,ultrashort laser pulses(800 nm,10 Hz,70 fs)in a wide range of *** TC and LP collected signals were in good agreement with the existing theoretical description of laser–matter interaction at an ultrashort time *** approach for an in situ LIdT monitoring system provides measurable signals for below-threshold irradiation conditions that indicate the endurance limit of the optical surfaces in the single-shot energy scanning *** LIdT value extracted from the LP-TC system is in line with the multipulse statistical analysis done with ISO 21254-2:2011(E).The implementation of the LP and TC as on-shot diagnostic tools for optical components will have a significant impact on the reliability of next-generation ultrafast and high-power laser systems.

Faced with autism, motherhood and parenthood are turned upside down in many ways. Coping with stress and mental health problems, continuing to assume a rewarding parental role and finding suitable care are the trials and tribulations that mark out the journey of African parents. Faith and belief have been described as providing meaning and coping mechanisms in the frightening ordeal of disability. An encounter with a young girl and her parents provided an opportunity to analyse the mother’s experience and the impact of beliefs and discourses on her commitment to care. Based on this clinical story, we discuss the place of other-actors (parents and carers) and the Other-God in relation to the psychopathological dynamics of the mother.

Introduction: Human rabies is a major public health problem in many African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire. The present work aims at describing the eco-epidemiological characteristics of human rabies cases recorded in Côte d’Ivoire. Methods: This was a retrospective and prospective cross-sectional descriptive study based on epidemiological surveillance data that ran from september 2014 to december 2017. The clinical data were extracted from the database of the human rabies epidemiological surveillance management service of the national institute of Public Hygiene’s rabies centre. These data cover the period from 1 January 2012 to 31 december 2017. Results: Human rabies is endemic in Côte d’Ivoire, with most people exposed in the south and especially in the west of the country. There was no association between any of the climatological parameters (temperature, humidity, rainfall) and the occurrence of human rabies during the months of exposure to rabies infection. Conclusion: Ultimately, effective prevention and control of human rabies requires a thorough understanding of the links between climatological parameters and rabies. Health authorities must take ownership of these results if we are to achieve our goal of eliminating rabies by 2030.

Lipid homeostasis is crucial for growth and development of *** cytochrome P450 monooxygenases(CYPs)are involved in lipid *** function of Cyp3llal in the anterior midgut as a regulator of phosphatidylethanolamine(PE)metabolism in drosophila melanogaster has been demonstrated,as depletion of Cyp31lal caused larval growth arrest that was partially rescued by supplying *** this study,we investigated the role of CYP311A1 in wing morphogenesis in *** the GAL4-UAS system,Cyp31lal was selectively knocked down in the wing disc.A deformed wing phenotype was observed in flies with reduced Cyp31lal *** and oil red O staining revealed a reduction of neutral lipids in the wing disc after the depletion of *** addition,we observed an enhanced sensitivity to Eosin Y penetration in the wings of Cyp31lal knocked-down ***,the reduction of CYP311A1 function in developing wings does not affect cell proliferation and apoptosis,but entails disordered Phalloidin or Cadherin distribution,suggesting an abnormal cell morphology and cell cortex structure in wing epithelial *** together,our results suggest that Cyp3llal is needed for wing morphogenesis by participating in lipid assembly and cell homeostasis.

The co-aromatization of methane with higher hydrocarbons represents a promising route to valorize methane, an abundant but underexploited carbon resource. In this study, we elucidate a novel approach to enhance the catalytic co-aromatization of hexane and methane by confining Pt within zeolite catalysts and modulating its electron density. Our findings show that encapsulating Pt within MFI structure is pivotal for activating the feedstock and fostering the formation of aromatic products. Interaction between K atoms and the silanol nest forms siloxy groups which are critical for the stabilization of Pt species. Tuning the K content in PtSn@MFI catalysts adeptly alters the electronic configuration of Pt clusters. This modification is corroborated by infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis, and density functional theory calculations. Remarkably, the catalyst with 0.8 wt% K exhibits an optimal Pt electron density, driving its superior efficacy in the co-aromatization reaction, converting 0.78 mol of methane for each mole of hexane processed. By employing ~(13)C isotopic labeling and solid-state NMR studies, we demonstrate the participation of methane in the adsorbed species inside the zeolite channel and its incorporation to the benzyl site of the substitute group and phenyl rings in aromatic compounds, underscoring the importance of Pt encapsulation.

Morphometric studies of 3d micro CT-scanned images can provide insights into the evolution of the brain and sensory structures but such data are still scarce for the most diverse mammalian order of *** reviewed and new data,we tested for convergence to extreme aridity and high elevation in the sensory and brain morphology of rodents,from morphometric data from micro-CT X-ray scans of 174 crania of 16 species of three distantly re-lated African murid(soft-furred mice,Praomyini,laminate-toothed rats,Otomyini,and gerbils,Gerbillinae)clades and one North American cricetid(deer mice and white-footed mice,Peromyscus)*** studies demon-strated convergent evolution acting on the oval window area of the cochlea(enlarged in extremely arid-adapted species of Otomyini and Gerbillinae)and on endocranial volume(reduced in high elevation taxa of Otomyini and Peromyscus).However,contrary to our predictions,we did notfind evidence of convergence in brain struc-ture to aridity,or in the olfactory/respiratory system(turbinate bones)to high *** structure differed,particularly in the petrosal lobules of the cerebellum and the olfactory bulbs,between Otomyini and Gerbillinae,with extreme arid-adapted species in each clade being highly divergent(not convergent)from other species in the same *** observed greater“packing”of the maxillary turbinate bones,which have important respiratory functions,in Peromyscus mice from high and low elevations compared to the high-elevation African Praomyini,but more complex patterns within Peromyscus,probably related to trade-offs in respiratory physiology and heat exchange in the nasal epithelium associated with high-elevation adaptation.

The dimbokro health district has one of the highest incidences of malaria in Côte d’Ivoire, despite numerous campaigns to distribute Long-Acting Impregnated Mosquito Nets (LLINs). Given this observation, what are the population’s attitudes towards LLINs that could explain the high endemicity of malaria in dimbokro? The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practices of people in the health area of Nofou, one of the villages in the dimbokro health district where malaria is most prevalent, with a view to strengthening malaria control strategies. A collection of historical health data (malaria cases and LLIN usage rates) and a cross-sectional questionnaire survey was carried out from July 20 to August 03, 2022 in 400 households selected by systematic random sampling. data were entered using Epi Info 7 and multivariate statistical analyses were performed using IBM SPSS 22 software. In the dimbokro health district, the rate of LLIN use was negatively correlated (r = -0.771) with malaria incidence over the six years of historical data collection. Households had an average of 53% good knowledge, 68.6% good practices and 28.4% good attitudes towards LLINs. The study also revealed that the main factors explaining LLIN use in the Nofou health area are mosquito bite (ORa = 5.29 (1.12 - 25.04)), age of household members (ORa = 1.07 (1.01 - 1.14)) and marital status (ORa = 8.45 (1.70 - 45.02)). Awareness-raising on the use of LLINs should be intensified in the dimbokro health district. Other control strategies, such as vector control and environmental sanitation, should be considered to combat malaria.
