This review addresses the growing interest for potassium-ion full-cells(KIFCs)in view of the transition from potassium-ion half-cells(KIHCs)toward commercial K-ion batteries(KIBs).It focuses on the key parameters of KIFCs such as the electrode/electrolyte interfaces challenge,major barriers,and recent advancements in *** strategies for enhancing KIFC performance,including interfaces co ntrol,electrolyte optimization,electrodes capacity ratio,electrode material screening and electrode design,are *** review highlights the need to evaluate KIBs in full-cell configurations as half-cell results are strongly impacted by the K metal *** also emphasizes the importance of understanding solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)formation in KIFCs and explores promising nonaqueous as well as quasiand all-solid-state electrolytes *** review thus paves the way for practical,cost-effective,and scalable KIBs as energy storage systems by offering insights and guidance for future research.

This study's goal is to present a dynamic portrait of the farm-buildings environment in Occitania,in Southern France,in order to better identify the transitions underway in agri-food *** this end,we undertook a ter-ritorial diagnosis based on actor statements,using 28 semi-structured interviews across *** diagnosis was enriched by graphic modelling,which enabled the spatialization of the dynamics *** show that the process of standardisation of farm buildings prevails in the majority of the territories *** phenomenon has intensified in recent years with the development of vast photovoltaic-roofed sheds,accentuating the farm-land conversion and soil *** the same time,in areas with strong environmental,landscape and heritage contexts,a'new adventure in farm buildings'(2022 survey)is taking *** is primarily driven by local short food chains,which rely on self-construction,repurposing and refurbishment,the sharing of tools and equipment,and which favour the use and reuse of local *** study shows that farm-buildings dynamics crystallise many challenges confronting the reterritorialisation of agriculture and food production.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has emerged as the most common causeof chronic liver disorder worldwide. It represents a spectrum that includes acontinuum of different clinical entities ranging from simple steatosis to nonalcoholicsteatohepatitis, which can evolve to cirrhosis and in some cases tohepatocellular carcinoma, ultimately leading to liver failure. The pathogenesis ofNAFLD and the mechanisms underlying its progression to more pathologicalstages are not completely understood. Besides genetic factors, evidence indicatesthat epigenetic mechanisms occurring in response to environmental stimuli alsocontribute to the disease risk. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), including microRNAs,long noncoding RNAs, and circular RNAs, are one of the epigenetic factors thatplay key regulatory roles in the development of NAFLD. As the field of ncRNAsis rapidly evolving, the present review aims to explore the current state ofknowledge on the roles of these RNA species in the pathogenesis of NAFLD,highlight relevant mechanisms by which some ncRNAs can modulate regulatorynetworks implicated in NAFLD, and discuss key challenges and future directionsfacing current research in the hopes of developing ncRNAs as next-generationnon-invasive diagnostics and therapies in NAFLD and subsequent progression tohepatocellular carcinoma.

In this paper,vanadium nitride(VN)thin films have been deposited on Al substrates by reactive magnetron *** VO_(2) films have been obtained by air oxidation of VN samples performed at three temperatures(450,525 and 550℃)at various durations(lower than 50 min).X-ray diffraction and Raman spectrometry of the VN oxidized films indicate that VO_(2) and V2O5 are the only phases produced during the oxidation *** dioxide is the first oxide *** coexists with VN in a long period at 450℃ or suddenly disappears at 525 and 550℃.Whatever the temperature,V2O5 is exclusively detected after the total oxidation of *** oxide is detrimental to the thermochromic performance of *** emissivity-switching properties of the oxidized films were analyzed by infrared camera in the 7.5e13 mm *** comparison among all the samples exhibiting a thermochromic behavior shows that the maximum emissivity switch is independent of the oxidation temperature and the surface morphology of the *** results could open a new strategy in the investigation of VN oxidation as a method to obtain VO_(2),along with an insight into the correlation between surface morphology and optical properties.

Porous metal-based carbon nanocomposites,with a monolithic shape,were prepared by a one-pot synthesis from dissolved cellulose and metallic salts using a simple,cheap,and environmentally friendly *** potential performances as electrochemical capacitors were tested with three metal precursors(M=Cu,Mn,and Fe)with two loadings and in an asymmetric cell for the Fe-based carbon ***,here soluble metal precursors were not deposited on a hard cellulose template but mixed in a precooled concentrated NaOH solution where cellulose was previously dissolved,allowing for a good dispersion of the metallic *** a freezing step where concomitant cellulose regeneration and pore ice-templating phenomena took place,followed by a carbonization step,the mixture led to a porous carbon monolith embedding well-dispersed metal-based nanoparticles having a diameter below 20 nm and present as metallic,oxide,or carbide phase(s)according to the element *** materials were characterized by different physicochemical techniques and electrochemical *** performances as supercapacitors are discussed in light of the specific behaviour of the metal-based phase and its influence on the carbon matrix properties such as mesopore formation and carbon *** asymmetric energy storage cell assembled with a Fe-based carbon electrode against a carbon xerogel electrode derived from a phenolic resin shows specific energy and power of 18.3 Wh kg^(−1)at 5 mA cm^(−2)and 1.6 kW kg^(−1)at 25 mA cm^(−2),respectively.

In spintronic applications,there is a constant demand for lower power consumption,high densities,and fast writing speed of data ***-optical switching(AOS)is a technique that uses laser pulses to switch the magnetic state of a recording medium without any external devices,offering unsurpassed recording rates and a simple *** extensive research on the mechanism of AOS,low energy consumption and fast magnetization reversing remain challenging engineering *** this paper,we propose a newly designed cavity-enhanced AOS in Gd Co alloy,which promotes optical absorption by twofold,leading to a 50%reduction in energy ***,the time-resolved measurement shows that the time of reversing magnetization reduces at the same *** new approach makes AOS an ideal solution for energy-effective and fast magnetic recording,paving the way for future developments in high-speed,low-power-consumption data recording devices.

It is weft known that Lamb waves in a plate with a mirror plane can be separated into two uncoupled sets： symmetric and anti-symmetric modes. Based on this property, we present a revised plane wave expansion method （PWE） to calculate the band structure of a phononie crystal （PC） plate with a mirror plane. The developed PWE method can be used to calculate the band structure of symmetric and anti-symmetric modes separately, by which the depending relationship between the partial acoustic band gap （PABG）, which belongs to the symmetric and anti-symmetric modes alternatively, and the position of the scatterers can be determined. As an example of its application, the band structure of the Lamb modes in a two-dimensional PC plate with two layers of void circular inclusions is investigated. The results show that the band structure for the symmetric and anti-symmetric modes can be changed by the position of the scatterers drastically, and larger PABGs will be opened when the scatterers are inserted into the area of the plate, where the elastic potential energy is concentrated.

In this work, a fast(0.5 h), green microwave-assisted synthesis of single crystalline Sb_2Se_3 nanowires was developed. For the first time we demonstrated a facile solvent-mediated process, whereby intriguing nanostructures including antimony selenide(Sb_2Se_3) nanowires and selenium(Se) microrods can be achieved by merely varying the volume ratio of ethylene glycol(EG) and H_2O free from expensive chemical and additional surfactant. The achieved uniform Sb_2Se_3 nanowire is single crystalline along [001]growth direction with a diameter of 100 nm and a length up to tens of micrometers. When evaluated as an anode of lithium-ion battery, Sb_2Se_3 nanowire can deliver a high reversible capacity of 650.2 m Ah g^(-1) at 100 mA g^(-1) and a capacity retention of 63.8% after long-term 1000 cycles at 1000 mA g^(-1), as well as superior rate capability(389.5 m Ah g^(-1) at 2000 mA g^(-1)). This easy solvent-mediated microwave synthesis approach exhibits its great universe and importance towards the fabrication of high-performance metal chalcogenide electrode materials for future low-cost, large-scale energy storage systems.

The purpose of this work is the study the ability of the plant material Aloe vera to act as natural coagulant using raw water obtained from a drinking water treatment plant(Mila,Algeria).Different solvents such as:NaCl;NaOH and HCl were used as chemical activators to extract the active components from the Aloe vera plant,and different coagulation-flocculation experiments were conducted in a jar test apparatus to evaluate the perfor-mance of the extracted ***,the effect of coagulant dose on some water parameters such as turbidity,pH,total alkalinity and organic matter were *** results showed that the use of coagulants obtained by using different solvents increases the coagulation efficiency compared to the coagulant obtained from the raw material,for example the maximum turbidity removal efficiency was 28.23,78.07,83.46 and 85.15%when using powdered Aloe vera(raw material),AV-NaCl(0.5 M),AV-NaOH(0.05 M)and AV-HCl(0.05 M),*** results defined,that the residual turbidity obtained in this work,where the Aloe vera was used(after treat-ment by solvents)produced a turbidity lower than the Algerian standard(5 NTU)with initial turbidity(13 NTU).In this study,the infrared spectrum study and analysis has revealed the presence of different functional groups,which are responsible for the coagulation process.
