The Impact of Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer-AJA-on Family *** of Family Relationships in Terms of Adaptability and Cohesion

Objectives:The arrival of cancer in adolescents and young adults(aged 15 to 24 years)-Adolescents and young adults(AJA)-corresponds to a fragile period during which the adulthood of the young person and the evolution of family ties mobilize the family as a ***,cancer,beyond its individual traumatic dimension,affects the whole family,which can modify family ties and family *** objective is to evaluate family functioning from the complex model evaluating cohesion and adaptability when an adolescent or young adult has ***:Adolescents and young adults with cancer(n=41),mothers(n=41),and fathers(n=13)participated in this *** completed the Family Adaptation and Cohesion Scales(FACES Ⅲ)*** functioning when an aya is ill has been compared to that of families without any ***:a comparison of the mean scores of perceived cohesion and adaptability of face Ⅲ indicates no significant difference for *** contrast,the averages of the adaptability scores of our sample with those of the general population indicate that families with cancer hais generally feel more“adaptable”than the non-clinical *** results are statistically significant for AJA,but also for mothers and *** the mean scores of ideal cohesion and ideal adaptability,there are no significant differences between fathers in our sample and fathers in the general *** contrast,mothers in our sample had less ideal adaptability than those in the general *** aya patients with cancer,the scores of both adaptability and cohesion were significantly different from those of non-diseased ***:Cancer leads to many changes in family relationships,making it difficult to empower the young patient and latent the evolution of the relationship.

This paper summarizes the work held at the Cancéropôle Ile-de-France's annual SHS research seminar on the theme:Pluridisciplinarity and methods for SHS research in thefield of *** clarifying the concepts of pluri-,inter-,and transdisciplinarité,it aimed to describe how this type of research is carried out in practice,addressing successively:the role of stakeholders and their respective positions,the need for a shared language,the various temporalities involved and task sharing,the interview and analysis methods as well as the implication of *** highlighted the personal qualities required to practice this type of research,such as psychologicalﬂexibility and adaptability,a strong desire for collaborative work,acceptance of risk,and a humble stance.

Aim:To investigate parents’experience of home care for children in oncology in order to identify the benefits,expectations,and possible difficulties *** and methods:A qualitative method was adopted,with non-directive interviews conducted with nine participants,then analyzed using thematic content ***:The main recurring themes in the discourse include:(1)relief,(2)positive representation of home,(3)positive representation of home care,and(4)negative representation of home *** these parents,home care appears to be positive overall,even though the introduction of home care is often reported as a source of stress for ***:These results must be interpreted with caution,but they do support previous research and highlight certain recommendations for further improving this experience,particularly for parents,but also for the sick child and the family.

Objectives: To assess the socio-professional determinants of burnout among the medical staff of Dakar University Hospitals. The aim was to propose effective means of prevention. Material and Methods: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical study of physicians in permanent contact with patients at the Fann and Aristide Le Dantec teaching hospitals in Dakar, Senegal. Results: A total of 159 doctors were included in the study, with a sex ratio (M/F) of 1.3 in favor of men. The prevalence of burnout was 91.8%. Burnout was significantly associated (p Conclusion: Burnout is a threat to doctors at university hospitals in Senegal. It has several determinants linked above all to work organization. It is essential to set up psychological support units in hospitals and integrate occupational medicine into various organizational processes.
