High-spin states in the beam energies. A new and 72 γ transitions odd-odd nucleus ^128I are investigated via the ^124 Sn（^7 Li,3n）^128 I reaction at 28 and 32 Me V level scheme of 12sI is established up to high-spin states at I^π = 16, including 48 levels The present level scheme is largely different from the one in a recent publication due to identification of several doublet and triplet γ transitions and their proper placements in the level scheme. The high-spin level structure exhibits no obvious collective properties and is possibly associated with two and multi-quasiparticle configurations.

PbS quantum dots were prepared in the aqueous medium from readily available precursors. The shape of the particles isapproximately spherical, and the average particle size observed from HRTEM image was 7-8 nm. We applied PbS quantumdots and PMMA polymer to fabricate PbS quantum dots-PMMA composites, and investigate the photoluminescence PbSquantum dots in PMMA matrix with different mass ratio. PbS quantum dots in PMMA matrix have broad emission be-tween 900 nm and 1 500 nm and photoluminescence peak at 1 179 nm. Additionally, the photoluminescence intensityincreases with increasing the dopant concentration. PbS quantum dots-PMMA polymer composites can be potentially usedfor polymer optical fiber and electroluminescence (EL) in optical communication.

The equilibrium geometries, potential energy curves, spectroscopic dissociation energies of the ground and low-lying electronic states of He2, He2^＋ and He2^＋＋ are calculated using symmetry adapted cluster/symmetry adapted cluster-configuration interaction （SAC/SAC-CI） method with the basis sets CC-PV5Z. The corresponding dissociation limits for all states are derived based on atomic and molecular reaction statics. The analytical potential energy functions of these states are fitted with Murrell-Sorbie potential energy function from our calculation results. The spectroscopic constants Be, αe, ωe, and ωeχe of these states are calculated through the relationship between spectroscopic data and analytical energy function, which are in well agreement with the experimental data. In addition, the origin of the energy barrier in the ground state X^I∑9^＋ of He2^＋＋ energy curve are explained using the avoided crossing rules of valence bond model.

Broadband continuum generation in an irregularly multicore microstructured optical fiber

A broadband continuum generation is reported in a novel multicore microstructured optical fiber (MOF) where irregular air holes are randomly distributed in cladding. By launching ultrashort light pulses from a Ti:sapphire laser into a 190-mm-long fiber of this type, we have observed a group of continua generated from different cores, each with distinct color. 20-dB bandwidth of the broadest continuum is 1260 nm with an average power of 143 mW. The result confirms that the multicore MOF can be fabricated, with different dispersion profiles tailored for specific supercontinuum (SC) generation towards practical applications.

On the basis of the gauge theory of the spacetime translation group, Hayashi formulated the new general relativity in Weitzenbock spacetime, which is characterized by the vanishing curvature tensor (absolute parallelism and by torsion tensor formed by four parallel vector fields. This theory agrees with all the experiments so far carried out in the solar system. A series of aAl5O12：Ce （YAG：Ce） phosphors doped with different Si4＋ concentrations is prepared by solid-state reaction. The temperature dependent characteristics of luminescent spectrum and decay time of Ce3＋ are investigated. With Si4＋ doped, the emission spectrum shows a blue shift clue to a decrease of the splitting of 5d levels of Ce3＋ ion. The thermal stability is greatly improved by adding Si4＋ because the activation energy AE increases from 0.1836 eV to 0.2401 eV. The study of the decay times against temperature for various doping concentrations of Si4＋ shows that the calculated nonradiative decay rate is affected by Si4＋ substitution. The results are explained by the configurational coordinate diagram.

Vector meson mass values are studied at finite chemical potential and temperature in lattice QCD with lattice size of 24 × 122× 6 using two flavors of staggered quarks. The investigation focuses on the change of the vector meson mass in the critical region close to T c with two different types of chemical potentials switched on: the isoscalar chemical potential μS and its isovector counterpart μV. It is found that the vector meson mass increases in the QGP phase with both chemical potentials and decreases with μS in the confinement phase.

A new band in the odd proton nucleus ^123I is identified via in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy using the ^14N＋^116Cd reaction. This band shows up as doublets with the previously assigned π97/2 （vh11/2）^2 band. Possible configurations of the new band are discussed in the framework of the cranked shell model and the geometrical model It is argued that the new band might be a chiral partner of the previously known πg9/2 （vh11/2）2 band.

We investigate the behavior of the chiral condensate in lattice QCD at finite temperature and finite chemical potential. The study was done using two flavors of light quarks and with a series of β and ma at the lattice size 24×122×6. The calculation was done in the Taylor expansion formalism. We are able to calculate the first and second order derivatives of ψψ in both isoscalar and isovector channels. With the first derivatives being small, we find that the second derivatives are sizable close to the phase transition and that the magnitude of ψψ decreases under the influence of finite chemical potential in both channels.
