Boosting hydrocarbon conversion via Cu-doping induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2 in CO2 electroreduction

Conversion of CO2back to hydrocarbons is the most direct way of closing the“carbon cycle”,and its significance is further enlarged if this process is driven by renewable energies such as ***,precisely controlling the product selectivity towards hydrocarbons against the competitive hydrogen evolution remains challenging,especially for Cu-based ***,we report a novel defect engineering strategy,by which Cu-doping-induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2nanorods were effectively created,with adjustable vacancy/Cu *** resulting optimum catalyst shows up to 79% catalytic current density to hydrocarbons （excluding CO）,with 49% faradaic efficiency to *** and density functional theory unveil that the ratio between oxygen vacancy and Cu affects significantly the formation of*CHO and activation of H2O,which leads to the following deep hydrogenation to *** findings may spur new insights for designing and developing more controllable chemical process relevant to CO2utilization.

Single-phase multiferroic BiFeO3 and rare-earth metal of holmium （Ho） doped BiFeO3 nanofilms were prepared on Pt （100）/Ti/SiO2/Si wafer via solution-gelation technique. It was suggested that the lattice distortion happened with the lattice parameter of d decreasing after doping rare-earth metal of Ho. Meanwhile, the structure of nanofilms transformed from hexahedron phase to tetragonal phase after doping Ho. The analysis on X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） indicated that the ratio of Fe3~ cations to Fe2＋ cations increased with the increase of binding energy between Fe and O and decrease of that between Bi and O after doping Ho. The present work provided an available way on enhancing multiferroic of BiFeO3 nanofilms.

In this paper, we consider the eigenvalue problem of a class of fourth-order operator matrices appearing in mechan- ics, including the geometric multiplicity, algebraic index, and algebraic multiplicity of the eigenvalue, the symplectic orthogonality, and completeness of eigen and root vector systems. The obtained results are applied to the plate bending problem.

This paper deals with the completeness of the eigenvector system of a class of operator matrices arising from elasticity theory, i.e., symplectic eigenvector expansion theorem. Under certain conditions, the symplectic orthogonality of eigenvectors of the operator matrix is demonstrated. Based on this, a necessary and sufficient condition for the completeness of the eigenvector system of the operator matrix is given. Furthermore, the obtained results are tested for the free vibration of rectangular thin plates.

By constructing a new numerical conformal mapping and using the Stroh-type formulism, an anti-plane problem of four edge cracks emanating from a square hole in piezoelectric solids is investigated. The explicit expressions of the complex potential function, field intensity factors, energy release rates and mechanical strain energy release rate near the crack tip are obtained under the assumptions that the surfaces of the cracks and hole are electrically permeable and electrically impermeable. Numerical examples are presented to show the influences of the geometrical parameters of defects and applied mechanical/electrical loads on the energy release rate and mechanical strain energy release rate under two electrical boundary conditions.

Based on the fundamental equations of piezoelasticity of quasicrystal media, using the symmetry operations of point groups, the linear piezoelasticity behavior of one-dimensional（1D）hexagonal quasicrystals is investigated and the piezoelasticity problem of 1D hexagonal quasicrystals is decomposed into two uncoupled problems, i.e., the classical plane elasticity problem of conventional hexagonal crystals and the phonon–phason-electric coupling elasticity problem of1 D hexagonal *** final governing equations are derived for the phonon–phasonelectric coupling anti-plane elasticity of 1D hexagonal *** complex variable method for an anti-plane elliptical cavity in 1D hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystals is proposed and the exact solutions of complex potential functions, the stresses and displacements of the phonon and the phason fields, the electric displacements and the electric potential are obtained *** the cavity into a crack, the explicit solutions in closed forms of electro–elastic fields,the field intensity factors and the energy release rate near the crack tip are derived.

The numerical moire method with sensitivity as high as 0.03 nm has been presented. A quantitative displacement and strain analysis program has been proposed by using this method. It is applied to an edge dislocation and a stacking fault in aluminum. The measured strain of edge dislocation is compared with theoretical prediction given by Peierls-Nabarro dislocation model. The displacement of stacking fault is also obtained.

The complex variable method for solving the two-dimensional thermal stress problem of icosahedral quasicrystals is stated. The closed-form solutions for icosahedral quasicrystals containing an elliptical hole subjected to a remote uniform heat flow are obtained. When the hole degenerates into a crack, the explicit solutions for the stress intensity factors is presented.

The polaron effect on the optical rectification in spherical quantum dots with a shallow hydrogenic impurity in the presence of electric field is theoretically investigated by taking into account the interactions of the electrons with both confined and surface optical phonons. Besides, the interaction between impurity and phonons is also considered. Numerical calculations are presented for typical Zn1-xCdxSe/ZnSe material. It is found that the polaronic effect or electric field leads to the redshifted resonant peaks of the optical rectification coefficients. It is also found that the peak values of the optical rectification coefficients with the polaronic effect are larger than without the polaronic effect, especially for smaller Cd concentrations or stronger electric field.
