GbLMI1 over-expression improves cotton aboveground vegetative growth

Leaves are the main organ for photosynthesis and organic synthesis in *** shape has important effects on photosynthetic efficiency and canopy formation,thereby affecting cotton *** studies have shown that LMI1(LATE MERISTEM IDENTITY1)is the main gene regulating leaf *** this study,the LMI1 gene was inserted into the 35S promoter expression vector,and cotton plants overexpressing LMI1(OE)were obtained through genetic *** analysis of the biological traits of the T_(1) and T_(2) populations showed that compared to the wild type(WT),OE plants had significantly larger leaves,thicker stems and significantly greater dry ***,plant sections of the main vein and petiole showed that the numbers of cells in those tissues of OE plants were significantly *** addition,RNA-seq analysis revealed the differential expression of genes related to gibberellin synthesis and NAC gene family(genes containing the NAC domain)between the OE and WT plants,suggesting that LMI1 is involved in secondary wall formation and cell proliferation,which promotes stem ***,Gene Ontology(GO)analysis revealed enrichment in the terms of calcium ion binding,and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)analysis showed enrichment in the terms of fatty acid degradation,phosphatidylinositol signal transduction system,and c AMP(cyclic adenosine monophosphate)signal *** results suggested that LMI1 OE plants are responsive to gibberellin hormone signals,and have altered messenger signals(c AMP,Ca^(2+))which amplify this function,to promote stronger aboveground vegetative *** study found the LMI1 greatly increased the vegetative growth in cotton,which is the basic requirement for higher yield.

An analysis of the sectorial structure of energy consumption shows that residential and tertiary sector buildings are the third-highest consumers,responsible for 29.5%of a city’s final energy *** Building Quality Control Laboratory of the Basque Government aims to promote quality,innovation,and sustainability in *** accomplish this goal,it has constructed an experimental facility with different energy generation technologies and a very versatile control system for testing different energy systems and operation *** this study,we tested a facility for supplying domestic hot water and heating for a multi-family house by means of a condensing boiler and an aerothermal heat pump(together with the corresponding control).This installation could reproduce the thermal demands required to be satisfied by the generation equipment through a programmed operation of the installation based on real ***,this installation was analyzed using thermoeconomics(TE)to solve problems unable to be solved using traditional energy analyses based on the First Law of *** problems include:(1)Determining the costs of the products of the installation based on physical criteria,(2)detecting the places where losses actually occur,evaluating their costs,and proposing cost-effective improvements,and(3)diagnosing issues in the *** a result,this paper suggests a solution to the preventive maintenance problems confronting the technical maintenance personnel for thermal installations in buildings by applying TE knowledge and using real data collected from sensors.

Background Fatty liver hemorrhage syndrome(FLHS)becomes one of the most major factors resulting in the laying hen death for caged egg *** study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of Lactiplantibacillus plan-tarum(***)FRT4 on FLHS model in laying hen with a focus on liver lipid metabolism,and gut *** The FLHS model of laying hens was established by feeding a high-energy low-protein(HELP)diet,and the treatment groups were fed a HELP diet supplemented with differential proportions of *** *** results indicated that *** FRT4 increased laying rate,and reduced the liver lipid accumulation by regulating lipid metabolism(lipid synthesis and transport)and improving the gut microbiota ***,***-tarum FRT4 regulated the liver glycerophospholipid ***,“gut-liver”axis analysis showed that there was a correlation between gut microbiota and lipid *** The results indicated that *** FRT4 improved the laying performance and alleviated FLHS in HELP diet-induced laying hens through regulating“gut-liver”*** findings reveal that glycerophospholipid metabolism could be the underlying mechanism for the anti-FLHS effect of *** FRT4 and for future use of *** FRT4 as an excellent additive for the prevention and mitigation of FLHS in laying hens.

Long-Lasting Filtration of Oily Water by Anti-Fouling Underwater Oleophobic Sand Particles

The produced water from the oilfield was purified with filter material and then injected back into the *** serpentine filter material was easy to harden with the increase in filtration amount,which affected the water quality.A superhydrophilic/underwater oleophobic serpentine filter material was successfully prepared by a simple method of coating modification,which exhibited long-lasting filtration of oily water,good filtration and anti-fouling properties,and resistance to *** film-forming material of the superhydrophilic/underwater oleophobic coating was composed of SiO_(2) particles with small size,which could completely and evenly cover the filter *** weight loss was only 7.6%after mechanical stirring for 90 *** with the original filter material,the superhydrophilic/underwater oleophobic serpentine filter material showed a better anti-fouling ability and resistance to *** filtration of crude oil emulsion and oil slick sewage showed a better backwashing *** 35 cycles of continuous filtration of suspended solids in wastewater,the backwashing rate reached 78.4%.The results provided an effective method for the filtration of oily wastewater in the oilfield.

Paclitaxel(Taxol)stands out as a tetracyclic diterpenoid natural product derived from the endangered plant *** as a pivotal broad-spectrum anticancer drug,it has garnered widespread attention due to its low yield,intricate structure,unique anticancer mechanism,and remarkable efficacy(Tong et al.,2021).Although chemists achieved the total synthesis of paclitaxel 30 years ago,after decades of research,the natural biosynthetic pathway for its production remains an enigma(Ajikumar et al.,2010;Malci et al.,2023).A recent breakthrough,published in Molecular Plant by Alisdair ***'s team,unveils a minimal gene set of 18 genes required for paclitaxel biosynthesis(Zhang et al.,2023),representing a significant mark toward unraveling the entire biosynthetic pathway and enhancing paclitaxel production efficiency.

An intelligent control method based on artificial neural network for numerical flight simulation of the basic finner projectile with pitching maneuver

In this paper,an intelligent control method applying on numerical virtual flight is *** proposed algorithm is verified and evaluated by combining with the case of the basic finner projectile model and shows a good application ***,a numerical virtual flight simulation model based on overlapping dynamic mesh technology is *** order to verify the accuracy of the dynamic grid technology and the calculation of unsteady flow,a numerical simulation of the basic finner projectile without control is carried *** simulation results are in good agreement with the experiment data which shows that the algorithm used in this paper can also be used in the design and evaluation of the intelligent controller in the numerical virtual flight ***,combined with the real-time control requirements of aerodynamic,attitude and displacement parameters of the projectile during the flight process,the numerical simulations of the basic finner projectile’s pitch channel are carried out under the traditional PID(Proportional-Integral-Derivative)control strategy and the intelligent PID control strategy *** intelligent PID controller based on BP(Back Propagation)neural network can realize online learning and self-optimization of control parameters according to the acquired real-time flight *** with the traditional PID controller,the concerned control variable overshoot,rise time,transition time and steady state error and other performance indicators have been greatly improved,and the higher the learning efficiency or the inertia coefficient,the faster the system,the larger the overshoot,and the smaller the stability *** intelligent control method applying on numerical virtual flight is capable of solving the complicated unsteady motion and flow with the intelligent PID control strategy and has a strong promotion to engineering application.

Differences between two wheat genotypes in the development of floret primordia and contents of pigments and hormones

Promoting more floret primordia within a spike to acquire fertile potential during the differentiation and pre-dimorphism phases is critical for increasing the number of fertile florets per spike(NFFs).However,it is yet unknown the physiological mechanism regulating the complex and dynamic *** study aimed to clarify how intra-spike hormones,pigments,and assimilates coordinate with each other to regulate spike morphology and then floret primordia development.A two-year field experiment was conducted with two winter wheat genotypes:N50(big-spike with greater NFFs)and SM22(mediumspike with fewer NFFs).We monitored high temporal and spatial-resolution changes in the number and morphology of floret primordia within a spike,as well as in intra-spike hormones,pigments,and *** results revealed that the big-spike genotype had more NFFs than the medium-spike genotype,not only because they had more spikelets,but also because they had greater NFFs mainly at central *** floret primordia at central spikelets had sufficient time to develop and acquire fertile potential during the differentiation phase(167-176 d after sowing,DAS)and the pre-dimorphism phase(179 DAS)for the big-spike genotype than the medium-spike *** primordia with fertile morphology during the pre-dimorphism phase always developed into fertile florets during the dimorphism *** early-developed floret primordia most proximal and intermediate to the rachis in the big-spike genotype developed faster than the medium-spike ***,the spike dry matter and pigments(chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,carotene,and carotenoids)content during 170-182 DAS,auxin(IAA)and cytokinin(CTK)content on 167 DAS were significantly higher in the big-spike genotype than in the medium-spike genotype,while jasmonic acid(JA)content was significantly lower in the big-spike genotype compared to the medium-spike genotype during 167-182 *** the significant differences in intra-s

Rational protein engineering of thermostable heparinase I from Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron for highly efficient heparin degradation

Heparin， a glycosaminoglycan， is a stable source of carbon that supports the growth of microorganisms in the human intestine. It is also a commonly used anticoagulant drug in clinical practice， with significant therapeutic effects. Low molecular weight heparin （LMWH） is a highly active low molecular weight fragment obtained via enzymatic reaction or the chemical degradation of heparin. LMWH has been applied globally in the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism in thrombosis patients. Simultaneously， as a potential prebiotic， because of its low molecular weight， LMWH can be well degraded by the gut microbiota to maintain intestinal balance. Enzymatic heparin degradation has recently emerged as a viable disposal method for LMWH preparation; however， only very few benchmark enzymes have been thoroughly described and subjected to protein engineering to improve their properties over the past few years. The commercialization of enzymes will require the development of robustly engineered enzymes that meet the demands of industrial processes. Herein， we report a rational protein engineering strategy that includes molecular dynamic simulations of flexible amino acid mutations and disulfide bond screening. Several Bt-HepI mutants were obtained and screened for high thermal stability. We obtained the Bt-HepID204C/K208C/H189W/Q198Rvariant， which features a stabilized protein surface structure， with a 1.3-fold increase in kcat/Km， a 2.44-fold increase in thermal stability at 50℃， and a 1.8-fold decrease in the average molecular weight of LMWH produced at 40℃ compared with that seen with Bt-HepIWT. Our study establishes a strategy to engineer thermostable HepI to underpin its industrial applications.

Discovery of the Significant Impacts of Swell Propagation on Global Wave Climate Change

This study compared the differences in the wave climate in the South China Sea and North Indian Ocean under these two datasets:ERA-40 wave reanalysis and Mei’s hindcast wave *** the numerical calculation of regional ocean waves,the wave climate characteristics exhibited significant bias if the influence of external swells(swells from afar)was not fully considered,which may provide an incorrect basis for global climate change analysis.1)The trends of the significant wave height(SWH)obtained from the two datasets showed significant differences,such as those of the Bay of Bengal and the Java Sea in *** the past 45 years,SWH from ERA-40(SWH-ERA)exhibited a significant annual increase in low-latitude waters of the North Indian Ocean(0.2-0.6 cm yr^(-1))and South China Sea(0.2-0.8 cm yr^(-1)).2)In the Bay of Bengal,the SWH-ERA in each month was generally 0.5 m higher than the SWH from Mei’s hindcast wave data(SWH-Mei)and can reach 1.0 m higher in some months.3)In the Bay of Bengal,SWH-ERA and SWH-Mei increased significantly at annual rates of 0.13 and 0.27 cm yr^(-1),*** increasing trend was mainly reflected after ***-ERA showed a trough in 1975(1.33 m)and a crest in 1992(1.83 m),which were not reflected in SWH-Mei.
