Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia(HHT)is a rare autosomal-dominantly inherited disease that occurs in approximately one in 5000 to 8000 *** diagnosis of HHT is made when a person presents three of the following four criteria:family history,recurrent nosebleeds,mucocutaneous telangiectasis,and arteriovenous malformations(AVM)in the brain,lung,liver and gastrointestinal(GI)*** epistaxis is themost common presenting symptom,AVMs affecting the lungs,brain and GI tract provoke a more serious *** mutations in endoglin,activin receptor-like kinase 1(ACVRL1;ALK1),and SMAD4,the genes involved in the transforming growth factor-βfamily signaling cascade,cause *** report here the case of a 63 year-old male patient who presented melena and GI bleeding episodes,proven to be caused by bleeding from multiple gastric *** revealed multiple angiodysplasia throughout the *** argon plasma coagulation was performed to control bleeding from a gastric *** patient has been admitted several times with episodes of hemoptysis and *** year ago,the patient was hospitalized due to right-sided weakness,which was caused by left basal ganglia hemorrhage as the part of HHT *** family history,the patient's mother and elder sister had died,due to intracranial hemorrhage,and his eldest son has been suffered from recurrent epistaxis for 20 years.A genetic study revealed a mutation in exon 3 of ALK1(c.199C>T;***67Trp)in the proband and his eldest son presenting epistaxis.

Bounding box extraction from spherical hologram of elementary object to synthesize hologram of arbitrary three-dimensional scene with occlusion consideration(Invited Paper)

A novel method to extract a bounding box that contains the three-dimensional object from its spherical hologram is proposed. The proposed method uses the windowed Fourier transform to obtain the angular distribution of the quasi-collimated beams at each position in the spherical hologram and estimates the bounding box by accumulating the quasi-collimated beams in the volume inside the spherical hologram. The estimated bounding box is then used to realize occlusion effect between the objects in the synthesis of the three-dimensional scene hologram.

Comparison of Frontal Analysis and Elution-Curve Method for Determining Adsorption Isotherms

Adsorption isotherm is the most fundamental information related to chromatography. To calculate the parameters of Langmuir ad-sorption isotherm of thymidine, frontal analysis (FA) and elution-curve method (ECM) were adopted in reversed-phase high performance liguid chromatography (RP-HPLC). In FA, the concentration of stationary phase was measured from the elution curves and the isotherm was deter-mined by regression analysis, while the parameters by ECM were obtained by parameter optimization. The adsorption isotherms of thymidine from the two methods were very similar. The superiority of ECM over FA was that the consumption of sample was less and only one or two in-jections of sample were required.

Semi-automatic Video Annotation Tool to Generate Ground Truth for Intelligent Video Surveillance Systems

Generating ground truth data for developing object detection algorithms of intelligent surveillance systems is a considerably important yet time-consuming task; therefore, a user-friendly tool to annotate videos efficiently and accurately is required. In this paper, the development of a semi-automatic video annotation tool is described. For efficiency, the developed tool can automatically generate the initial annotation data for the input videos utilizing automatic object detection modules, which are developed independently and registered in the tool. To guarantee the accuracy of the ground truth data, the system also has several user-friendly functions to help users check and edit the initial annotation data generated by the automatic object detection modules. According to the experiment＇s results, employing the developed annotation tool is considerably beneficial for reducing annotation time; when compared to manual annotation schemes, using the tool resulted in an annotation time reduction of up to 2.3 times.

Microforging Effect on the Microstructure and Magnetic Properties of FeSiB-based Nanoflakes

The effect of microforging on the processing of nanocrystalline FeSiB alloy flakes was studied in terms of microstructure and magnetic properties. The flakes microforged from amorphous precursor showed submicron thicknesses with the crystal size of about 15 nrn. The crystallite size during microforging was primarily determined by plastic deformation rather than fracturing and agglomeration. Unlike the general trend of coercivity reduction with annealing, the coercivity of the nanocrystalline flakes was slightly increased with increasing annealing temperature, which can be explained with the diffusion anisotropy of the magnetic moments resulting from the formation of Fe-atoms pairs. The magnetic rernanence （Mr） of the planar nanocrystalline flakes was measured to be about 26% of the saturation magnetization （Ms）, a significant increase from 2% of the initial amorphous precursor.

Chiral Separation of Ibuprofen by Supercritical Fluid Chromatography

The separation method using chiral stationary phase （CSP） for the preparation of enantioselective compound was widely used. In this work, supercritical fluid chromatography（SFC） was proposed to resolve the chiral mixtures. To determine the optimum operating conditions for the chiral separation of the racemic ibuprofen, the retention factors and resolutions with the change in pressure, temperature and the content of IPA （%, by volume） in supercritical CO2 were investigated. Experiments showed that the retention factor decreased with the increase of pressure and decrease in temperature. The retention factor was also influenced by the content of IPA in mobile phase, as the content of IPA in the supercritical fluid increased, the retention factor decreased. The resolution of the enantiomers became worse with the increase of IPA in the supercritical fluid. Through optimizing the experimental conditions, a SFC procedure with 13MPa, 311.15K and 4% IPA in CO2 was obtained. The peak shape of the enantiomers was symmetric with supercritical fluid chromatography when compared to the asymmetric peak shape obtained by the conventional liquid chromatography. This work demonstrated that the developed supercritical fluid chromatography procedure was suitable for the chiral separation of ibuprofen enantiomers.

Electronic structures and magnetism of Fe nanowires on Cu（001） and Ag（O01）： A first-principles study

The electronic structures and magnetism of Fe nanowires along the [110] direction on Cu（001） and Ag（001） [Fe（nw）/Cu（001） and Fe（nw）/Ag（001）] are investigated by using the all-electron full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method in the generalized gradient approximation. It is found that the magnetic moment of Fe atom for the Fe（nw）/Cu（001） is 2.99#B, which is slightly smaller than that （3.02μB） for the Fe（nw）/Ag（001） but much larger than that （2.22μB） for the bcc iron. The great enhancement of magnetic moment in the Fe nanowires can be explained by the Fe d-band narrowing and enhancement of the spin-splitting due to a reduction in coordination number, From the calculated spin-polarized layer-projected density of states, it is found that the Fe 3d-states are strongly hybridized with the adjacent Cu 3d-states in the Fe（nw）/Cu（001）, and there exists a strong hybridization between the Fe sp-and the adjacent Ag 4d-states in the Fe（nw）/Ag（001）.

Tidal Current Energy Resource Assessment Technique and Procedure Applied in Western Coastal Region, South Korea

After the nuclear power plant accident in Japan, Korean government has set the national goal to produce the electricity by renewable energy sources up to 11% by 2035 which is not easy to achieve without ocean energy development. The demand on the clean energy supply has been increased recently and there are many renewable energy development projects and plans announced worldwide. The ocean energy can be produced from tidal current, wave, tidal barrage and ocean thermal sources. The first step is to estimate the resource assessment for each energy source. There are several assessment methods introduced from IEA （International Energy Agency）, IRENA （International Renewable Energy Agency）, NREL （National Renewable Energy Laboratory）, EU ERENE （European Community for Renewable Energy）, Bonn University, DLR （German Aerospace Center）, etc.. Even these known methods have some sort of similarity; there are different definitions and classifications among them. In this paper, the four-step energy potentials are defined and introduced as theoretical, geographical, technical and market potentials. The theories for each step are presented for ocean energies together with clear definitions. As the tidal current energy research and development are active in Korea having very strong tidal current speed along the west and south coastal regions, the detail procedure for each step of energy potential assessment is introduced for tidal current energy. The paper will illustrate the case study of tidal current power assessment in western coastal region, South Korea with highlighting the key aspects in determining the resource potentials.

Learning to Optimize for Resource Allocation in LTE-U Networks

This paper proposes a deep learning(DL)resource allocation framework to achieve the harmonious coexistence between the transceiver pairs(TPs)and the Wi-Fi users in LTE-U *** nonconvex resource allocation is considered as a constrained learning problem and the deep neural network(DNN)is employed to approximate the optimal resource allocation decisions through unsupervised manner.A parallel DNN framework is proposed to deal with the two optimization variables in this problem,where one is the licensed power allocation unit and the other is the unlicensed time fraction occupied ***,to guarantee the feasibility of the proposed algorithm,the Lagrange dual method is used to relax the constraints into the DNN training ***,the dual variable and the DNN parameter are alternating update via the batch-based gradient decent method until the training process *** results show that the proposed algorithm is feasible and has better performance than other general algorithms.
