Coordinated Control Strategy for Operation Mode Switching of DC Distribution Networks

Due to the advantages such as low line cost,low transmission loss,and high power supply reliability,DC distribution networks have become the main development trend for future distribution *** this paper,a typical DC distribution network with multiple voltage levels is considered as a research *** is proposed that the interface converters between DC buses with different voltage levels be implemented through the series-parallel combination of full-bridge LLC resonant *** realize the decentralized self-discipline control of DC voltage under various working conditions,different slack buses are prepared according to the voltage ranges of the DC buses,and the voltage regulation modes of the DC distribution network are divided into main voltage regulation mode,backup voltage regulation mode,and off-grid voltage droop regulation *** introducing a voltage coefficient related to DC voltage deviation as a basis for mode switching,the voltage fluctuations caused by slow switching between control modes in the method of traditional voltage margin control is reduced,facilitating fast and smooth switching between different voltage regulation ***,a simulation model for DC distribution networks is constructed utilizing MATLAB/*** results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed voltage regulation modes and switching methods for DC distribution ***,an experimental platform is also constructed to verify the feasibility of the mode switching method proposed in this paper.

Pre-operative X ray mammography and int raoperative X-ray specimen radiography are routinely used to identify breast cancer *** advances in optical coherence tomography(OCT)have enabled its 1use for the intraoperative assessment of surgical margins during breast cancer *** each modality offers distinct contrast of normal and pathological features,there is an essential need to correlate image based features between the two modalities to take adv antage of the diagnostic capabilities of each *** compare OCT to X-ray images of resected human breast tissue and correlate different tissue features between modalities for future use in real-tine intraoperative OCT imaging.X ray imaging(specimen radiography)is currently used during surgical breast cancer procedures to verify tumor margins,but cannot image tissue in *** has the potential to solve this problem by providing intrao-perative imaging of the resected specimen as well as the in situ tumor *** and micro-CT(X-ray)images are automatically segmented using different computational approaches,and quantitatively compared to determine the ability of these algorithms to automat ically differentiate regions of adipose tissue from ***,two-dimensional(2D)and three-dimensional(3D)results are *** correlations,combined with real-time intraoperative OCT,have the potential to identify possible regions of tumor within breast tissue which correlate to tumor regions identified previously on X-ray imaging(mammography or specimen radiography).

Measuring turbulence in a circulating fluidized bed using PIV techniques

This study utilized the particle image velocimetry （P1V） technique, non-invasively near the wall, in the developing region, for the measurements of laminar and turbulent properties during circulation of Geldart B type particles in the U.S. Department of Energy （DOE） National Energy technology Laboratory （NETL） riser. A novel method was used to measure axial and radial laminar and turbulent solids dispersion coefficients using autocorrelation technique. The instantaneous and hydrodynamic velocities for the solid phase were measured simultaneously in the axial and radial directions using a CCD camera, with the help of a colored rotating transparency. The measured properties, such as laminar and Reynolds stresses, laminar and turbulent granular tempera- tures, laminar and turbulent dispersion coefficients and energy spectra exhibited anisotropy. The mixing in the riser was on the level of clusters. The total granular temperatures were in reasonable agreement with the literature values. However, the axial and radial solids dispersion coefficients measured near the wall were slightly lower than the radially averaged values in the literature.

A type of complex systems under both random influence and memory effects is considered. The systems are modeled by a class of nonlinear stochastic delay-integrodifferential equations. A delay-dependent stability criterion for such equations is derived under the condition that the time lags are small enough. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the theoretical result.

Polar residual network model for assisting evaluation on rat myocardial infarction segment in myocardial contrast echocardiography

Objective To investigate the value of polar residual network(PResNet)model for assisting evaluation on rat myocardial infarction(MI)segment in myocardial contrast echocardiography(MCE).Methods Twenty-five male SD rats were randomly divided into MI group(n=15)and sham operation group(n=10).MI models were established in MI group through ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery using atraumatic suture,while no intervention was given to those in sham operation group after *** images of both basal and papillary muscle levels on the short axis section of left ventricles were acquired after 1 week,which were assessed independently by 2 junior and 2 senior ultrasound *** evaluating efficacy of MI segment,the mean interpretation time and the consistency were compared whether under the assistance of PResNet model or *** No significant difference of efficacy of evaluation on MI segment was found for senior physicians with or without assistance of PResNet model(both P>0.05).Under the assistance of PResNet model,the efficacy of junior physicians for diagnosing MI segment was significantly improved compared with that without the assistance of PResNet model(both P<0.01),and was comparable to that of senior *** the assistance of PResNet model,the mean interpretation time of each physician was significantly shorter than that without assistance(all P<0.001),and the consistency between junior physicians and among junior and senior physicians were both moderate(Kappa=0.692,0.542),which became better under the assistance(Kappa=0.763,0.749).Conclusion PResNet could improve the efficacy of junior physicians for evaluation on rat MI segment in MCE images,shorten interpretation time with different aptitudes,also improve the consistency to some extent.

Dynamic Modeling and Simulation of a Commercial Naphtha Catalytic Reforming Process

A first principles-based dynamic model for a continuous catalyst regeneration (CCR) platforming process, the UOP commercial naphtha catalytic reforming process, is developed in this paper. The lumping details of the naphtha feed and reaction scheme of the reaction model are given. The process model is composed of the reforming reaction model with catalyst deactivation, the furnace model and the separator model, which is capable of capturing the major dynamics that occurs in this process system. Dynamic simulations are performed based on Gear numerical algorithm and method of lines (MOL), a numerical technique dealing with partial differential equations (PDEs). The results of simulation are also presented. Dynamic responses caused by disturbances in the process system can be correctly predicted through simulations.

Effect of Sc and Zr additions on microstructures and corrosion behavior of Al-Cu-Mg-Sc-Zr alloys

The effects of adding the alloy element Sc to Al alloys on strengthening, recrystallization and modification of the grain microstructure have been investigated. The combination of Sc and Zr alloying not only produces a remarkable synergistic effect of inhibition of recrystallization and refinement of grain size but also substantially reduce the amount of high-cost additional Sc. In this work, the microstructures and corrosion behavior of a new type of Al-Cu-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy with Sc/Zr ratio of 1/2 were *** experimental results showed that the Sc and Zr additions to Al-Cu-Mg alloy could strongly inhibit recrystallization, refine grain size, impede the segregation of Cu element along the grain boundary and increase the spacing of grain boundary precipitates. In addition, adding Sc and Zr to Al-Cu-Mg alloy effectively restricts the corrosion mechanism conversion associated with Al2 Cu Mg particles, which resulted in the change of the cross-section morphology of inter-granular corrosion from an undercutting to an elliptical shape. The susceptibility to inter-granular corrosion was significantly decreased with increasing Sc and Zr additions to the Al-Cu-Mg alloy. The relationships between microstructures evolution and inter-granular corrosion mechanism of Al-Cu-Mg-Sc-Zr alloys were also discussed.

Automatic tuning of sparse matrix-vector multiplication on multicore clusters

To have good performance and scalability, parallel applications should be sophisticatedly optimized to exploit intra-node parallelism and reduce inter-node communication on multicore clusters. This paper investigates the automatic tuning of the sparse matrix-vector(Sp MV) multiplication kernel implemented in a partitioned global address space language, which supports a hybrid thread- and process-based communication layer for multicore systems. One-sided communication is used for inter-node data exchange, while intra-node communication uses a mix of process shared memory and multithreading. We develop performance models to facilitate selecting the best configuration of threads and processes hybridization as well as the best communication pattern for Sp MV. As a result, our tuned Sp MV in the hybrid runtime environment consumes less memory and reduces inter-node communication volume, without damaging the data locality. Experiments are conducted on 12 real sparse matrices. On 16-node Xeon and 8-node Opteron clusters, our tuned Sp MV kernel gets on average 1.4X and 1.5X improvement in performance over the well-optimized process-based message-passing implementation, respectively.
