The field of mobility prediction has been widely investigated in the recent past,especially the reduction of the coverage radius of cellular networks,which led to an increase in hand-over *** the cell coverage very frequently,for example,may lead to service disruptions if a predictive approach is not deployed in the *** several works examined mobility prediction in the new-generation mobile networks,all of these studies focused on studying the time features of mobility traces,and the spectral content of historical mobility patterns was not considered for prediction purposes as *** the present study,we propose a new approach to mobility prediction by analyzing the effects of a proper mobility sampling *** proposed approach lies in the mobility analysis in the frequency domain,to extract hidden features of the mobility ***,we proposed a new methodology to determine the spectral content of mobility traces(considered as signals)and,thus,the appropriate sampling frequency,which can provide numerous *** considered several types of mobility models(***,urban,and vehicular),containing important details in the time and frequency *** simulation campaigns were performed to observe and analyze the characteristics of mobility from real traces and to evaluate the effects of sampling frequency on the spectral content.

The European Sentinel missions and the latest generation of the United States Landsat satellites provide new opportunities for global environmental *** acquire imagery at spatial resolutions between 10 and 60 m in a temporal and spatial coverage that could before only be realized on the basis of lower resolution Earth observation data(>250 m).However,images gathered by these modern missions rapidly add up to data volume that can no longer be handled with standard work stations and software ***,this contribution introduces the TimeScan concept which combines pre-existing tools to an exemplary modular pipeline for the flexible and scalable processing of massive image data collections on a variety of(private or public)computing *** TimeScan framework covers solutions for data access to arbitrary mission archives(with different data provisioning policies)and data ingestion into a processing environment(EO2Data module),mission specific pre-processing of multi-temporal data collections(Data2TimeS module),and the generation of a final TimeScan baseline product(TimeS2Stats module)providing a spectrally and temporally harmonized representation of the observed ***,a TimeScan layer aggregates the information content of hundreds or thousands of single images available for the area and time period of interest(*** to hundreds of TBs or even PBs of data)into a higher level product with significantly reduced *** first test,the TimeScan pipeline has been used to process a global coverage of 452,799 multispectral Landsat–8 scenes acquired from 2013 to 2015,a global data-set of 25,550 Envisat ASAR radar images collected 2010–2012,and regional Sentinel–1 and Sentinel–2 collections of∼1500 images acquired from 2014 to *** resulting TimeScan products have already been successfully used in various studies related to the large-scale monitoring of environmental processes and their temporal dynamics.

Platinum diselenide(PtSe_(2))is a promising two-dimensional(2D)material for the terahertz(THz)range as,unlike other transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs),its bandgap can be uniquely tuned from a semiconductor in the nearinfrared to a semimetal with the number of atomic *** gives the material unique THz photonic properties that can be ***,we demonstrate that a controlled THz nonlinearity—tuned from monolayer to bulk PtSe_(2)—can be realized in wafer size polycrystalline PtSe_(2)through the generation of ultrafast photocurrents and the engineering of the bandstructure *** is combined with the PtSe_(2)layer interaction with the substrate for a broken material centrosymmetry,permitting a second order ***,we show layer dependent circular dichroism,where the sign of the ultrafast currents and hence the phase of the emitted THz pulse can be controlled through the excitation of different bandstructure *** particular,we show that a semimetal has a strong dichroism that is absent in the monolayer and few layer semiconducting *** microscopic origins of this TMD bandstructure engineering are highlighted through detailed DFT simulations,and shows the circular dichroism can be controlled when PtSe_(2)becomes a semimetal and when the K-valleys can be *** well as showing that PtSe_(2)is a promising material for THz generation through layer controlled optical nonlinearities,this work opens up a new class of circular dichroism materials beyond the monolayer limit that has been the case of traditional TMDs,and impacting a range of domains from THz valleytronics,THz spintronics to harmonic generation.

Aqueous colloidal dispersions containing Znx Cd1‐x S quantum dots (QDs) of different x compositions were prepared by precipitating zinc and cadmium acetates with sodium sulphide,in the presence of a cetyltrimethylammonium bromide ***‐visible absorption spectroscopy was used to determine the transition energies of the QDs,which in turn were used to calculate their sizes,which depended on their *** QD size decreased with increasing Zn *** photocatalytic activity of the Znx Cd1‐x S QDs was studied by the decomposition of methylene blue under ultraviolet irradiation,at a maximum intensity at 365 nm (3.4 e V).Three different photo‐catalytic activity regions were observed,which depended on the Zn *** quantum levels of the QDs could be excited by incident irradiation,and influenced the resulting photocatalytic *** photocatalytic activity was achieved at x = 0.6,where the QD transition energy was equal to the irradiation photon *** photocatalytic efficiency of the QDs depended on their surface area and arrangement of quantum levels,because of the quantum size effect.

The aim of this study was to characterize two types of cellulosic fibers obtained from bleached wood pulp and unbleached recycled waste paper with different cellulose content(from 47.4 percent up to 82 percent),to compare and to analyze the potential use of the recycled fibers for building application,such as plastering *** in the chemical composition,cellulose crystallinity and degree of polymerization of the fibers were *** recycled fibers of lower quality showed heterogeneity in the fiber sizes(width and length),and they had greater surface roughness in comparison to high purity wood pulp *** high purity fibers(cellulose content>80.0 percent)had greater crystallinity and more homogeneous and smooth surfaces than the recycled *** presence of calcite and kaolinite in all of the recycled cellulosic fibers samples was confirmed,whereas only one wood pulp sample contained *** influence of the chemical composition was reflected in the fiber density *** in the chemical composition and cellulose structure of the fibers affected the specific surface area,porosity and thermo physical properties of the *** favorable values of thermal conductivity were reached for the recycled fibers than for the wood pulp *** the suitability of the recycled fibers with inorganic impurities originating from the paper-making processes for their use as fillers in plastering mortars(0.5 wt.%fiber content of the total weight of the filler and binder)confirmed their application by achieving a compressive strength value of 28 day-cured fiber-cement mortar required by the standard as well as by measured more favorable value of capillary water absorption coefficient.

Two-dimensional transition metal carbides(MXenes) have been demonstrated to be promising supports for single-atom catalysts(SACs) to enable efficient oxygen evolution reaction(OER).However,the rational design of MXene-based SACs depends on an experimental trial-and-error approach.A theoretical guidance principle is highly expected for the efficient evaluation of MXene-based ***,highthroughput screening was performed through first-principles calculations and machine learning ***_(3)C_(2)(OH)_(x),V_(3)C_(2)(OH)_(x),Zr_(3)C_(2)(OH)_(x),Nb_(3)C_(2)(OH)_(x),Hf_(3)C_(2)(OH)_(x),Ta_(3)C_(2)(OH)_(x),and W_(3)C_(2)(OH)_(x) were screened out based on their excellent ***,Pd,Ag,Cd,Au,and Hg were proposed to be promising single atoms anchored in MXenes based on cohesive energy ***_(3)C_(2)(OH)_(x) with a Pd single atom delivers a theoretical overpotential of 81 *** moderate electron-deficient state and high covalency of metal-carbon bonds were critical features for the high OER *** principle is expected to be a promising approach to the rational design of OER catalysts for metal-air batteries,fuel cells,and other OER-based energy storage devices.

Although fibers are used only infrequently as an additive in concrete in the construction industry,fiberenhanced concrete is known to provide a wide range of advantages over conventional *** main objective of this study was to investigate the influences of fiber type and content on the mechanical properties and durability of highperformance fiber-reinforced concrete(HPFRC)designed using a novel densified mixture design algorithm with fly ash and rice husk *** types of fiber,including polypropylene(PP)fiber,steel fiber(SF),and hybrid fiber(HF),were *** on the results,the inclusion of fibers decreased HPFRC flowability,regardless of fiber *** the compressive strength of HPFRC with 1.6%PP fiber content was 11.2%below that of the reference HPFRC specimen at 91 d of curing age,the 91-d compressive strengths of both SF and HF-enhanced HPFRC specimens were significantly better than that of the reference HPFRC ***,the HPFRC specimens incorporating SF and HF both exhibited better splitting tensile and flexural strengths as well as less drying shrinkage than the HPFRC specimens incorporating PP ***,the fiber-enhanced specimens,especially those with added SF,registered less surface electrical resistivity and greater vulnerability to chloride ion penetration than the reference HPFRC specimen.
