Design and selection of advanced protection schemes have become essential for reliable and secure operation of networked *** protection schemes that allow correct operation of microgrids have been proposed for individual systems in different topologies and ***,protection schemes for networked microgrids are still in devel-opment,and further research is required to design and operate advanced protection in interconnected *** of these microgrids in different nodes with various intercon-nection technologies increases fault occurrence and complicates protection *** paper aims to point out challenges in developing protection for networked microgrids,potential solutions,and research areas that need to be addressed for their ***,this article presents a systematic analysis of different microgrid clusters proposed since 2016,including several architectures of networked microgrids,operation modes,components,and utilization of renewable sources,which have not been widely explored in previous review ***,the paper presents a discussion on protection systems currently available for microgrid clusters,current challenges,and solutions that have been proposed for these ***,it discusses the trend of protection schemes in networked microgrids and presents some conclusions related to ***—Adaptive eprotection,microgrid cluster,microgrid,multiple microgrid,networked microgrid,real-time simulation,smart grid.

Many gas turbine components are made from nickel alloy sheet. Most are used for directing or containing gases at high temperatures and pressures where metal temperatures can be as high as 1090℃ (2000°F). These applications included combustor systems, casings and liners, transition and exhaust ducting, afterburners, and thrust reversere. Light weight components and sub-assemblies call for alloy sheet with high levels of stength and oxidation resistance. Complex component design calls for excellent ductility and ease of *** wide range of nickel alloy sheet alloys presently used in aircraft and land-based gas turbines is briefly described and typical properties presented. New sheet alloy developments, involving INCONEL￣* alloys 625LCF, 718SPF and MA754, are presented including the process routes involved and material properties.

Low thermal expansion superalloys have been used for a number of years in a variety of applications, including gas turbine engines. The low thermal expansion characteristics of the most widely used class of materials are derived from the ferromagnetic characteristics of Ni, Fe, and Co-based austenitic matrices containing little or no *** developments have been aimed at improving the oxidation resistance and stress accelerated grain boundary oxygen (SAGBO) *** alloy 783 is an oxidation resistant, low coefficient of thermal expansion superalloy developed for gas turbine applications. Alloy 783 represents a culmination in the development, of an alloy system with very high alumtnum content that, in addition to forming γ′,causes βaluminide phase precipitation in the austenitic *** type of structure can be processed to resist both SAGBO and general oxidation,while providing low thermal expansion and useful mechanical properties up to 700℃.Key aspects of the alloy's development are presented.

Recent developments allowed establishing virtual-reality (VR) setups to study multiple aspects of visual learning in honey bees under controlled experimental conditions. Here, we adopted a VR environment to investigate the visual learning in the buff-tailed bumble bee Bombus terrestris. Based on responses to appetitive and aversive reinforcements used for conditioning, we show that bumble bees had the proper appetitive motivation to engage in the VR experiments and that they learned efficiently elemental color discriminations. In doing so, they reduced the latency to make a choice, increased the proportion of direct paths toward the virtual stimuli and walked faster toward them. Performance in a short-term retention test showed that bumble bees chose and fixated longer on the correct stimulus in the absence of reinforcement. Body size and weight, although variable across individuals, did not affect cognitive performances and had a mild impact on motor performances. Overall, we show that bumble bees are suitable experimental subjects for experiments on visual learning under VR conditions, which opens important perspectives for invasive studies on the neural and molecular bases of such learning given the robustness of these insects and the accessibility of their brain.

The regulation of macrophage phenotype(M1/M2)is very important for tissue *** macrophage phenotypes could be affected by the physical and chemical parameters of implant *** aim of this study was to investigate the effects of surface modifications of titanium metals on macrophage *** medical pure titanium metals(PT-Ti)subjected to Anodic Oxidation(AO-Ti),Sand Blasting/acid etching(SLA-Ti)and Plasma-sprayed HA coating(HA coating-Ti)were used for regulating the phenotype of *** results showed that the Raw264.7 cells of AO-Ti groups had no obvious pseudopodia and could spread evenly in all *** levels of IL-1βand TNF-α,which belong to pro-inflammatory genes,expressed by the cells on AO-Ti groups were the lowest among all of the modified titanium ***,the levels of IL-10 and TGF-β,which belong to anti-inflammatory genes,expressed on AO-Ti groups were much higher than those on the other ***,the AO-Ti could regulate the expression of SOCS-1 and SOCS-3 to affect the active of NF-κB *** gene expression results of macrophages showed that the AO-Ti was more conductive to inhibit the expression of M1-related genes and promote the expression of M2-related genes in an inflammatory *** AO-Ti was more beneficial to tissue repair than other modified titanium *** results showed that the anodic oxidation is an effective method to regulate the phenotype of macrophages.

In this paper, the uncertainty of environmental loads and soil resistance is analyzed, and the wave and current loads acting on a jacket during the unpiled installation phase are converted to its foundation loads. With a probability model of soil resistance, risk applied to the design of temporary seafloor support of a platform and the risk of failure, or probability of horizontal sliding, tilting and ovrturning can be pridicted. Thereby, optimum design and installation procedure may be chosen according to safety and economical factors. A Fortran program based on the model is developed. The application of the program to a jacket in South China Sea is described.
