In recent years, strawberry is being successfully cultivated in Loukkos perimeter of Morocco and a wide range of varieties are being grown. The strawberry crop also generates 3 million working days per year. In fact, all plants are imported and prices are exorbitant. Varietal improvement is essential if a new impetus is to be given to the morocco strawberry. We have accordingly started a mutation breeding program by bud irradiation. Strawberry runners of cv. Fortuna were exposed to increasing doses of acute gamma rays. The physiological effects induced by irradiation were evaluated from cutting survival and growth. It has been determined that the doses of gamma and the varieties used are significant on the number of surviving plants and plant growth parameters. It was determined that low doses gamma irradiation respectively affected plant height, leaf length, leaf width and the number of leaves. These results allowed us, in the first instance, to fix the optimal dose range for cutting irradiated at 62 Grays.

Over the past few weeks,we have observed increasing concern about the possible impact of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2 virus)on male *** mechanisms of male reproductive damages are still unclear,but it seems that high temperature resulting from persistent fever and triggering a secondary autoimmune response leading to an autoimmune orchitis are the most likely involved ***,angiotensin conversion enzyme 2(ACE2)plays a highly important role in cellular entry for SARS-CoV-2 and male genital system presents high ACE2 *** these preliminary findings suggest that COVID-19 could impact men's reproductive ***,we examined available data including published and unpublished articles to assess the potential risk of COVID-19 in particular on the male reproductive system.

Concept and application of ideal protein for pigs

Knowledge about the amino acid requirements and the response of pigs to the amino acid supply is essential in feed formulation. A deficient AA supply results in a reduction in performance while an oversupply is costly and leads to excessive nitrogen excretion with a potentially negative environmental impact. Amino acid requirements are determined to a large extent by the protein deposition in the body and, for lactating sows, by the protein exported in the milk. The concept of ideal protein was developed more than 50 years ago and refers to a protein with an amino acid profile that exactly meets the animal＇s requirement so that all amino acids are equally limiting for performance. Because Lys typically is the first-limiting amino acid, the ideal amino acid profile is often expressed relative to Lys. Although the ideal protein profile is often assumed to be constant for a given production stage, （small） changes in the ideal protein profile can occur within a production stage. This can be caused by changes in the relative contribution of the different components of amino acid requirements during the productive life on the animal （e.g. changes in the relative contribution of growth and maintenance）. Amino acids requirements can be determined experimentally using dose-response studies. The design of the study, the chosen response criterion, and the statistical model affect the requirement estimate. Although considerable experimental work has been carried out to determine the requirements for Lys, Met, Thr, and Trp in growing pigs （and to a lesser extent in sows）, little is known about the requirements for the other essential amino acids. Experimental dose-response studies generally focus on the requirement and less on the overall response （i.e. what are the consequences of an amino acid deficiency？）. Soil erosion from agricultural fields is a worldwide problem,to influence water quality,soil fertility and reservoir sedimentation especially in Mediterranean countries such as *** fact,this work assesses the effects of Best Management Practices (BMPs) on sediments using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model in the Kalaya watershed in Northem Morocco,to recommend the most appropriate *** study is based on the use of three most usable practices:contouring,stripcropping and terracing,by the calibrated SWAT *** general parameters of the model have been modified to reflect the implementation of different agricultural BMPs *** sediment yield were compared with the baseline scenario,for ***,the effective measures to reduce sediment losses at the watershed level are organized according to their effectiveness,and these are terracing (28% reduction and the value is 15t/ha/yr) followed by strip-cropping (9% reduction and the value is 5t/ha/yr).In contrast,measurements performed by the contouring are inappropriate for the study area because they have contributed to increasing the soil erosion (more than 31% of losses and the value is 17t/ha/yr more than existing conditions).Therefore,the model illustrates that the terrace is effective for reducing sediment losses and limiting soil erosion especially on steep ***,the results provide useful information for targeted management in order to implement the most effective agricultural BMPs in the watershed.

We investigate the structure of rings over which every finitely generated g- supplemented module is supplemented. Some characterizations of this type of rings are given. We establishe some properties of ⊙-δ-supplemented modules. It is showed that for a ring R, finitely generated δ-supplemented R-modules are supplemented if and only if finitely generated ⊙-δ-supplemented R-modules are ⊙-supplemented.

Revise the abstract as follows:This work aims to investigate numerically the influence of the buoyancy ratio and the Dufour parameter on thermosolutal convection in a square Salt Gradient Solar Pond(SGSP).The absorption of solar radiation by the saline water,the heat losses and the wind effects via the SGSP free surface are *** mathematical model is based on the Navier-Stokes equations used in synergy with the thermal energy *** equations are solved using the finite volume method and the Gauss ***-pressure coupling is implemented through the SIMPLE *** of the SGSP are performed for three values of buoyancy ratio(N=1,2 and 10),three values of Dufour parameter(Df?0,0.2 and 0.8)and some sample meteorological data(tangier,Morocco).Results show that the highest dimensionless temperature of the storage zone is found for N=*** the same zone and for the same value of N,the dimensionless salt concentration decreases very slightly versus time(unlike for N=1 or 2).Moreover,increasing Df from 0 to 0.8 causes a decrease in the dimensionless temperature of the SGSP storage zone and this decrease is more pronounced for N=1 and N=2.

Proteomic composition of the acrostyle＂ Novel approaches to identify cuticular proteins involved in virus-insect interactions

The acrostyle is a distinct anatomical region present on the cuticle at the inner face of the common food/salivary canal at the tip of aphid maxillary stylets. This conserved structure is of particular interest as it harbors the protein receptors of at least l plant virus, Cauliflower mosaic virus＇, and presumably has other roles in plant-insect interactions. Previously we reported immunolabeling of a highly conserved motif of cuticular proteins from the CPR family （named for the presence of a Rebers and Riddiford consensus） within the acrostyle. Here we report the development of novel tools to further study the proteomic composition of this region and to identify proteins involved in insect- virus interactions. Using a series of antibodies against cuticular proteins from the RR-2 subfamily, we identified additional peptides present within the acrostyle. Our results demonstrated that the acrostyle is a complex structure containing multiple domains of cuticular proteins accessible for interaction. In addition, an array of overlapping peptides,which covers the diversity of the majority of the RR-2 subfamily, was ~tevelopect as a generic tool to characterize cuticular protein/pathogen interactions. Upon probing this array with Cucumber mosaic virus particles, consensus peptide sequences from hybridizing peptides were identified. Use of these novel tools has extended our knowledge of the proteomic composition of insect maxillary stylets and identified sequences that could be involved in virus binding, thus contributing to further elucidation of the various properties and functions of the acrostyle.

Fuzzy Models to Deal with Sensory Data in Food Industry

Sensory data are, due to the lack of an absolute reference, imprecise and uncertain data. Fuzzy logic can handle uncertainty and can be used in approximate reasoning. Automatic learning procedures allow to generate fuzzy reasoning rules from data including numerical and symbolic or sensory variables. We briefly present an induction method that was developed to extract qualitative knowledge from data samples. The induction process is run under interpretability constraints to ensure the fuzzy rules have a meaning for the human expert. We then study two applied problems in the food industry: sensory evaluation and process modeling.
