Broussonetia kazinoki×Broussonetia papyrifera(ZJGS)is a hybrid species in Moraceae family,which has a very complicated hybrid *** excellent characteristics of fast growth,strong soil and water conservation ability,high leaf protein content and stem fiber content in ZJGS make it both ecological benefits in the mining area and economically *** study aims to further understand ZJGS and other Moraceae taxa through the ZJGS chloroplast(cp)genome structure and the comparison with 12 closely related Moraceae *** the 13 Moraceae species,the cp genome length of seven Broussonetia species(ranges from 160,239 bp to 162,594 bp)is larger than that of six Morus species(ranges from 158,459 bp to 159,265 bp).Among the 77 shared protein-coding genes(PCGs)in Moraceae species,the obvious positive selection of Ka/Ks ratios acted on petD and rpl16 genes of *** and ***,*** analysis based on shared PCGs from 28 species shows that ZJGS is closely related to maternal *** findings provide data support for the origin of ZJGS hybridization and provide genomic resources for future ZJGS resource development and molecular breeding.

Combined application of a straw layer and flue gas desulphurization gypsum to reduce soil salinity and alkalinity

Burying a straw layer and applying flue gas desulphurization(FGD)gypsum are effective practices to ameliorate soil salinization or alkalization and to increase crop yield;however,little information exists on the effects of such integration in saline-alkali soils.A soil column experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of a straw layer plus FGD gypsum on soil salinity and *** placed a straw layer(5 cm thick)at a depth of 30 cm and mixed FGD gypsum into the 0–20 cm soil layer at application rates of 7.5,15.0,22.5,and 30.0 t ha^-1,with no straw layer and FGD gypsum as a control(CK).The soil water content in the 0–30 cm soil layer was significantly higher(>7.8%)in the treated soil profiles after infiltration than in the CK,but decreased after *** electrical conductivity(EC)of the 10–30 cm soil layer was 230.2%and 104.9%higher in the treated soil profiles than in the CK after infiltration and evaporation,respectively,and increased with increasing rates of FGD gypsum application,with Ca^2+and SO4^2-being the main dissolved *** to those in the CK,the concentrations of Na^+,Cl^-,and HCO3-decreased in the treated soil profiles at depths above 55 cm,but the other soluble ions increased,after infiltration.A similar trend occurred after evaporation for all soluble ions except for HCO3-.The p H and exchangeable sodium percentage in the treated soil profiles were significantly lower than those in the CK over the entire profile,and decreased with increasing FGD gypsum application ***,the incorporation of a straw layer plus FGD gypsum can reduce salinity and alkalinity,but the quantity of FGD gypsum should be controlled in saline-alkali soils.

Background： The intestinal epithelium is an important barrier that depends on a complex mixture of proteins and these proteins comprise different intercellular junctions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the postnatal and developmental changes in morphology, intercellular junctions and voltage-gated potassium（Kv） channels in the intestine of piglets during the suckling and post-weaning ***： Samples of the small intestine were obtained from 1-, 7-, 14-, and 21-d-old suckling piglets and piglets on d 1, 3, 5, and 7 after weaning at 14 d of age. The results showed that the percentage of proliferating cell nuclear antigen（PCNA）-positive cells and alkaline phosphatase（AKP） activity, as well as the abundances of E-cadherin,occludin, and Kv1.5 m RNA and claudin-1, claudin-3, and occludin protein in the jejunum were increased from d 1to d 21 during the suckling period（P 〈 0.05）. Weaning induced decreases in the percentage of PCNA-positive cells,AKP activity and the abundances of E-cadherin, occludin and zonula occludens（ZO）-1 m RNA or protein in the jejunum on d 1, 3 and 5 post-weaning（P 〈 0.05）. There were lower abundances of E-cadherin, occludin and ZO-1m RNA as well as claudin-1, claudin-3 and ZO-1 protein in the jejunum of weanling piglets than in 21-d-old suckling piglets（P 〈 0.05）. The abundances of E-cadherin, occludin, ZO-1 and integrin m RNA were positively related to the percentage of PCNA-positive ***： Weaning at 14 d of age induced damage to the intestinal morphology and barrier. While there was an adaptive restoration on d 7 post-weaning, the measured values did not return to the pre-weaning levels, which reflected the impairment of intercellular junctions and Kv channels.

The identification of factors that may be forcing ecological observations to approach the upper boundary provides insight into potential mechanisms affecting driver-response relationships,and can help inform ecosystem management,but has rarely been *** this study,we propose a novel framework integrating quantile regression with interpretable machine *** the first stage of the framework,we estimate the upper boundary of a driver-response relationship using quantile ***,we calculate“potentials”of the response variable depending on the driver,which are defined as vertical distances from the estimated upper boundary of the relationship to observations in the driver-response variable scatter ***,we identify key factors impacting the potential using a machine learning *** illustrate the necessary steps to implement the framework using the total phosphorus(TP)-Chlorophyll a(CHL)relationship in lakes across the continental *** found that the nitrogen to phosphorus ratio(N:P),annual average precipitation,total nitrogen(TN),and summer average air temperature were key factors impacting the potential of CHL depending on *** further revealed important implications of our findings for lake eutrophication *** important role of N:P and TN on the potential highlights the co-limitation of phosphorus and nitrogen and indicates the need for dual nutrient *** wetter and/or warmer climate scenarios can decrease the potential which may reduce the efficacy of lake eutrophication *** novel framework advances the application of quantile regression to identify factors driving observations to approach the upper boundary of driver-response relationships.

Microplastics(MPs)are found worldwide in high abundance,posing a potential threat to *** the ubiquity of MPs in the environment,very little is known about the regional distribution of MPs and underlying factors affecting this distribution in the field,which likely include human activity,but also features of the environment ***,out of a total of 1157 datapoints investigated in 53 Chinese studies,9.68%datapoints were removed as outliers in the heterogeneity *** review revealed that the abundance of MPs was highly *** addition,microplastic(MP)distribution maps based on China demonstrated that the highest abundance of MPs tended to occur near large rivers and central land affected by the intersection of two *** model-fitting and previous studies showed that MP abundance in China was correlated with longitude,agricultural mulching film usage per capita,temperature,and ***,due to the heterogeneity of MPs and the low matching degree between the current environmental data and the sampling points,this pattern was not as evident as reported in any single *** affecting the distribution of MPs can not be captured by linear relationships alone,and systematic selection of suitable environmental factors and further model optimization are needed to explore the cause of MP pollution in ***,this review revealed an uneven distribution of MPs and serves as a reference for model prediction to assess and control plastic pollution in natural soil environments.

Inorganic phosphate(Pi)availability is an important factor which affects the growth and yield of crops,thus an appropriate and effective response to Pi fluctuation is ***,how crops orchestrate Pi signaling and growth under Pi starvation conditions to optimize the growth defense tradeoff remains *** we show that a Pi starvationinduced transcription factor NIGT1(NITRATE-INDUCIBLE GARP-TYPE TRANSCRIPTIONAL REPRESSOR 1)controls plant growth and prevents a hyper-response to Pi starvation by directly repressing the expression of growth-related and Pisignaling genes to achieve a balance between growth and response under a varying Pi ***1 directly binds to the promoters of Pi starvation signaling marker genes,like IPS1,mi R827,and SPX2,under Pi-deficient conditions to mitigate the Pi-starvation responsive(PSR).It also directly represses the expression of vacuolar Pi efflux transporter genes VPE1/2 to regulate plant Pi *** further demonstrate that NIGT1 constrains shoot growth by repressing the expression of growth-related regulatory genes,including brassinolide signal transduction master regulator BZR1,cell division regulator CYCB1;1,and DNA replication regulator *** findings reveal the function of NIGT1 in orchestrating plant growth and Pi starvation signaling,and also provide evidence that NIGT1 acts as a safeguard to avoid hyper-response during Pi starvation stress in rice.

urban growth and shrinkage constitute the overall pattern of growing urbanization across the *** on urban vacant land(UVL)are few,and have proved to be mainly rudimentary and *** paper first presents the definition of UVL based on bibliometric ***,morphology,proximate causes,and the multiple functions of UVL are then analyzed at parcel,transect,city,and national levels based on an international *** show that UVL can be categorized by land cover,land usage,and land ***,UVL has been widespread and *** example,the occurrence probabilities of UVL in the cases of Guangzhou and New York are 8.46%-8.88%and 3.17%-5.08%,*** average vacancy rate of residential land amounts to 11.48%in 65 ***,UVL shows fragmentation and irregular shape,and significant spatial differences exist at parcel,transect,city,and national *** causes,such as excessive land division,irregularly shaped land parcels,decreases in resident population,deindustrialization,land speculation,insufficient investment,and environmental concerns,can all result in ***,UVL has become a gray area of social,economic,and ecological ***,it can also be considered a potential resource for enhancing urban *** implications to promote urban sustainability using monitoring,control,and differential revitalization of UVL are presented.
