Introduction:Gastroenteritis caused by non-O1/non-O139 Vibrio cholerae exhibited an increasing trend in recent years in *** genome sequence(WGS)data could play an important role both in the identification of the outbreaks and in the determination of the ***,we present the employment of WGS data in the investigation of two outbreaks caused by non-O1/non-O139 *** in Guangdong,China,***:We obtained the whole genome sequence of 66 *** strains isolated in two outbreaks with next generation sequencing *** retrieved the publicly available WGS data of non-O1/non-O139 *** from public *** used a pipeline integrated in China Pathogen Identification Net(PIN)to complete the phylogenetic ***:Two outbreaks caused by non-O1/non-O139 *** were identified using WGS *** *** strains were determined as serogroup *** 3 and 6 secretion systems were detected in these serogroup O5 *** serogroup O5 strains belonged to sequence type(ST)***:Our analysis indicated the risk of non-O1/non-O139 *** leading to outbreaks of diarrheal *** application of genomic data played an important role in the identification of the serogroup of non-O1/non-O139 *** in the lack of antiserum,which gave an example of the application of genome data in disease surveillance and public health emergency response.

Objective The aim of this study was to update the epidemic situation of dengue fever(DF) and provide new insights for the consideration of disease control in Fujian province,*** Details about DF cases in Fujian reported during 2004–2017 were collected and *** envelope(E) genes of isolates of dengue virus(DENV) were sequenced for phylogenetic *** The number of imported DF cases had increased dramatically since 2013,and the source regions expanded from Southeast Asia to South Asia,America,Oceania,and Africa,as well as the surrounding *** resulted in local outbreaks and indigenous cases of DF that occurred more frequently,with 10 of 13 local outbreaks and 85.9%(1,252/1,458) of indigenous cases reported in2013–*** with only two coastal cities before 2013,four coastal and one inland city in 2013–2017 experienced the local DF *** phylogenetic analysis of E genes confirmed that the import of DENV,not only from abroad but also from the surrounding provinces,played an important role in dissemination and local outbreaks of DF in *** The frequent import of DF cases from not only abroad but also the surrounding provinces resulted in increased incidence,frequent local outbreaks,and expansion of distribution in Fujian in recent *** is a need for urgent measures to improve disease control in this province.

Characterization of the First Genome of Porcine mastadenovirus B(HNU1 Strain) and Implications on Its Lymphoid and Special Origin

Porcine adenoviruses(PAdVs)are classified into three species,PAdV-A,PAdV-B,and *** genomes of PAdV-A and PAdV-C have been well ***,the genome of PAdV-B has never been completely sequenced,and the epidemiology of PAdV-B remains *** our study,we have identified a novel strain of PAdV-B,named PAdV-BHNU1,in porcine samples collected in China by viral metagenomic assay and general *** genome of PAdV-BHNU1 is 31,743 bp in length and highly similar to that of California sea lion adenovirus 1(*** lion AdV-1),which contains typical mastadenoviral structures and some unique regions at the carboxy-terminal ***,PAdV-BHNU1 harbors a dUTPase coding region not clustering with other mastadenoviruses except for *** lion AdV-1 and afiber coding region homologous with galectin 4 and 9 of ***,the variance of GC contents between PAdV-BHNU1(55%)and *** lion AdV-1(36%)indicates their differential evolutionary *** epidemiologic study revealed a high positive rate(51.7%)of PAdV-B-HNU1 in porcine lymph samples,but low positive rates of 10.2%and16.1%in oral swabs and rectal swabs,*** conclusion,this study characterized a novel representative genome of a lymphotropic PAdV-B with unique evolutionary origin,which contributes to the taxonomical and pathogenic studies of PAdVs.

Objective Studies on the relationship between iodine,vitamin A(VA),and vitamin D(VD)and thyroid function are *** study aimed to analyze iodine and thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)status and their possible relationships with VA,VD,and other factors in postpartum *** A total of 1,311 mothers(896 lactating and 415 non-lactating)from Hebei,Zhejiang,and Guangxi provinces were included in this *** urinary iodine concentration(UIC),TSH,VA,and VD were *** The median UIC of total and lactating participants were 142.00µg/L and 139.95µg/L,*** median TSH,VA,and VD levels in all the participants were 1.89 mIU/L,0.44μg/mL,and 24.04 ng/mL,*** differences in the UIC were found between lactating and non-lactating *** and TSH levels were significantly different among the three *** rural UIC was higher than the urban *** mothers had a higher UIC and a higher prevalence of excessive *** UICs and TSHs levels were observed in both the VD deficiency and insufficiency groups than in the VD-sufficient *** adjustment,no linear correlation was observed between UIC and VA/*** interaction was found between vitamins A/D and UIC on TSH *** The mothers in the present study had no iodine ***,area type,BMI,and VD may be related to the iodine status or TSH levels.

Gastroenteritis is an infectious diarrhea that has been considered as an important cause of hospitalizations and death in children aged < 5 years, particularly in developing countries. Unsanitary water, contaminated food, poor hygiene, and inadequate disposal of waste and feces are all risk factors for gastroenteritis, resulting in the higher incidence in developing countries. Gastroenteritis is generally caused by viral infections, among which rotavirus (RV) infections have been reported to be the most common, especially among young children aged < 5 years with acute gastroenteritis in Asia and Africa[1]. Other viruses associated with acute gastroenteritis include human Adenovirus (HAdV), Norovirus, Sapovirus (SaV), human Astrovirus (HAstV), and Aichi virus. Recent research has reported that adenovirus types 40 and 41, belonging to species F, cause gastroenteritis and were therefore termed as enteric adenoviruses. In addition, non-enteric HAdV species such as A, B, C, and D have been associated with diarrheal.
