Augmenting Intrinsic Fenton-Like Activities of MOF-Derived Catalysts via N-Molecule-Assisted Self-catalyzed Carbonization

To overcome the ever-growing organic pollutions in the water system,abundant efforts have been dedicated to fabricating efficient Fenton-like carbon ***,the rational design of carbon catalysts with high intrinsic activity remains a long-term ***,we report a new N-molecule-assisted self-catalytic carbonization process in augmenting the intrinsic Fenton-like activity of metal-organic-framework-derived carbon *** carbonization,the N-molecules provide alkane/ammonia gases and the formed iron nanocrystals act as the in situ catalysts,which result in the elaborated formation of carbon nanotubes(in situ chemical vapor deposition from alkane/iron catalysts)and micro-/meso-porous structures(ammonia gas etching).The obtained catalysts exhibited with abundant Fe/Fe-Nx/pyridinic-N active species,micro-/meso-porous structures,and conductive carbon ***,the catalysts exhibit high efficiency toward the degradation of different organic pollutions,such as bisphenol A,methylene blue,and *** study not only creates a new pathway for achieving highly active Fenton-like carbon catalysts but also takes a step toward the customized production of advanced carbon hybrids for diverse energy and environmental applications.

Multimode nonlinear optics is used to overcome a long-standing limitation of fiber optics,tightly phase locking several spatial modes and enabling the coherent transport of a wave packet through a multimode fiber.A similar problem is encountered in the temporal compression of multimillijoule pulses to few-cycle duration in hollow gas-filled *** the fiber length to up to 6 m,hollow fibers have recently reached 1 TW of peak *** the remarkable utility of the hollow fiber compressor and its widespread application,however,no analytical model exists to enable insight into the scaling behavior of maximum compressibility and peak *** we extend a recently introduced formalism for describing mode locking to the analog scenario of locking spatial fiber modes *** formalism unveils the coexistence of two soliton branches for anomalous modal dispersion and indicates the formation of stable spatiotemporal light bullets that would be unstable in free space,similar to the temporal cage solitons in mode-locking *** model enables deeper understanding of the physical processes behind the formation of such light bullets and predicts the existence of multimode solitons in a much wider range of fiber types than previously considered possible.

Rice is the staple food of more than half of the world's population,and major efforts are being made to improve rice *** yield is mainly determined by three components:number of panicles per plant,number of grains per panicle,and grain weight,which is positively associated with grain ***,grain size is an important agricultural trait for yield improvement in rice,and it is controlled by multiple genetic factors and environmental cues(Li et al.,2018).The final size of rice grains is largely determined by cell proliferation and cell expansion in the spikelet hull(husk),which sets the storage capacity of the grain and limits grain filling(Li et al.,2018).A number of quantitative trait loci for grain size have been identified and their underlying molecular functions *** include,for example,protein ubiquitination,chromatin modifications,transcription factors,RNA-mediated regulatory networks,and multiple plant hormones(Li and Li,2016).Among the plant hormones,brassinosteroids and cytokinin play pivotal roles in grain size ***,Liu et al.(2021)reported the discovery of an unexpected novel link between the brassinosteroid and the cytokinin signaling pathways with a major impact on rice grain size.

Anoctamin-5(ANO5)is a multi-pass membrane protein localized to the sarcolemma and the sarcoplasmic *** were linked to rare autosomal recessive muscle ***,we summarize the clinical spectrum,imaging data and molecular research findings as well as results of animal modeling,which significantly moved forward the understanding of mechanisms underlying ANO5-related muscle *** that precise histological information on inflammatory processes taking place in patient-derived muscle are still lacking,an(immuno)histological study on biopsies derived from six ANO5-patients was performed showing focal accumulation of necrotic fibers,mild fiber-size variances and *** addition,MRI data of four ANO5-patients(including a 10-year follow-up in one patient)are presented and discussed in the context of previously published ***,data presented in this article combining a review of the literature with own myopathological findings address scientific trends and open questions on ANO5-related muscle diseases,which would be of significant interest for a wide neuromuscular diseases *** conclude,a clear genotypeephenotype correlation does not exist,and ANO5-related muscle disorders might represent the next entity of a clinical continuum with varying degree of muscle cell *** addition,results of pre-clinical studies allowed the definition of suitable cell and animal models characterized by certain histological and functional pathologies resembling the human *** models might serve as suitable systems for testing of interventional concepts in future.

Alternative mRNA splicing is a fundamental process to increase the versatility of the *** humans,cardiac mRNA splicing is involved in the pathophysiology of heart *** in the splicing factor RNA binding motif protein 20(RBM20) cause severe forms of *** identify novel cardiomyopathy-associated splicing factors,RNA-seq and tissue-enrichment analyses were performed,which identified up-regulated expression of Sam68-Like mammalian protein 2(SLM2) in the left ventricle of dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM) *** the human heart,SLM2 binds to important transcripts of sarcomere constituents,such as those encoding myosin light chain2(MYL2),troponin 13(TNNI3),troponin T2(TNNT2),tropomyosin 1/2(TPM1/2),and titin(TTN).Mechanistically,SLM2 mediates intron retention,prevents exon exclusion,and thereby mediates alternative splicing of the mRNA regions encoding the variable proline-,glutamate-,valine-,and lysine-rich(PEVK) domain and another part of the I-band region of *** summary,SLM2 is a novel cardiac splicing regulator with essential functions for maintaining cardiomyocyte integrity by binding to and processing the mRNAs of essential cardiac constituents such as titin.

Chlorophylls and carotenoids are essential photosynthetic *** spatiotemporally coordinate the needs of chlorophylls and carotenoids for optimal photosynthesis and fitness in response to diverse environmental and developmental ***,how the biosynthesis pathways of these two pigments are coordinated,particularly at posttranslational level to allow rapid control,remains largely ***,we report that the highly conserved ORANGE(OR)family proteins coordinate both pathways via posttranslationally mediating the first committed enzyme in each *** demonstrate that OR family proteins physically interact with magnesium chelatase subunit I(CHLI)in chlorophyll biosynthesis pathway in addition to phytoene synthase(PSY)in carotenoid biosynthesis pathway and concurrently stabilize CHLI and PSY *** show that loss of OR genes hinders both chlorophyll and carotenoid biosynthesis,limits light-harvesting complex assembly,and impairs thylakoid grana stacking in *** of OR safeguards photosynthetic pigment biosynthesis and enhances thermotolerance in both Arabidopsis and tomato *** findings establish a novel mechanism by which plants coordinate chlorophyll and carotenoid biosynthesis and provide a potential genetic target to generate climate-resilient crops.

Tire abrasion particles negatively affect plant growth even at low concentrations and alter soil biogeochemical cycling

Tire particles(TPs)are a major source of microplastic on land,and considering their chemical composition,they represent a potential hazard for the terrestrial *** studied the effectsof TPs at environmentally relevant concentrations alongawide concentrationgradient(0–160 mg g^(-1))and tested the effects on plant growth,soil pH and the key ecosystem process of litter decomposition and soil *** addition of TPs negatively affected shoot and root growth already at low *** litter decomposition slightly increased with lower additions of TPs but decreased later *** pH increased until a TP concentration of 80 mg g^(-1) and leveled off *** respiration clearly increased with increasing concentration of added *** growth was likely reduced with starting contamination and stopped when contamination reached a certain level in the *** presence of TPs altered a number of biogeochemical soil parameters that can have further effects on plant *** the quantities of yearly produced TPs,their persistence,and toxic potential,we assume that these particles will eventually have a significant impact on terrestrial ecosystems.

The PPP–RTK method,which combines the concepts of Precise of Point Positioning(PPP)and Real-Time Kinematic(RTK),is proposed to provide a centimeter-accuracy positioning service for an unlimited number of ***,the PPP–RTK technique is becoming a promising tool for emerging applications such as autonomous vehicles and unmanned logistics as it has several advantages including high precision,full flexibility,and good *** paper gives a detailed review of PPP–RTK focusing on its implementation methods,recent achievements as well as challenges and ***,the fundamental approach to implement PPP–RTK is described and an overview of the research on key techniques,such as Uncalibrated Phase Delay(UPD)estimation,precise atmospheric correction retrieval and modeling,and fast PPP ambiguity resolution,is ***,the recent efforts and progress are addressed,such as improving the performance of PPP–RTK by combining multi-GNSS and multi-frequency observations,single-frequency PPP–RTK for low-cost devices,and PPP–RTK for vehicle ***,the system construction and applications based on the PPP–RTK method are ***,the main issues that impact PPP–RTK performance are highlighted,including signal occlusion in complex urban areas and atmosphere modeling in extreme weather *** new opportunities brought by the rapid development of low-cost markets,multiple sensors,and new-generation Low Earth Orbit(LEO)navigation constellation are also ***,the paper concludes with some comments and the prospects for future research.
