The assessment of the local community perception of the value of riparian corridors is relevant to understand their attitude towards the conservation of such ecosystem. We conducted a semi-structured survey on the perception and importance attributed to the ecosystem services (ESs) provided by riparian corridors in 368 households across 70 villages located in a buffer zone of 5 km of servitude around the permanent rivers of the Upper Oueme watershed in Benin. We found that local communities easily reported provisioning and cultural ESs than regulating and supporting ones, indicating their misunderstanding of the main role of riparian corridor. Moreover, the supply of cropping areas was perceived as the most important ES. Educated respondents and high-income households had more knowledge of regulating ESs and supporting ESs, respectively. Overall, the highly perceived importance of the provision of cropping areas indicates a potential risk of agricultural encroachment of riparian corridors. We suggest the consideration of the current local perception of riparian corridor’s role in designing a sound environmental education aiming at the change of local population’s perception. This perception shift will promote a sustainable management of the riparian corridors.

Pressure monitoring of a transformer oil tank can grasp the pressure change process caused by gas production when severe internal defects occur and take timely measures to ensure the safe operation of the *** pressure sensors generally use metal encapsulation or have an air cavity structure,threatening the transformer’s insulation if it is directly used inside the *** this end,this paper proposes a method for developing a high-sensitivity,large-range,and metallizationfree optical pressure sensing device with temperature *** grating is encapsulated by fluorosilicone rubber and supplemented by an epoxy resin shielding shell on the *** the same time,a double-grating vertical arrangement is adopted to improve pressure measurement sensitivity,further avoiding the influence of temperature rise caused by a defect of the transformer on the measurement result of the *** addition,by optimizing the geometric structure of the internal sensitizing element,pre-stretching length of the fiber grating,gap distance,and other parameters,probe size can be reduced while ensuring the sensor’s *** show the proposed method can meet the requirements of sensor fabrication with different sensitivities and ranges,and to a certain extent,both high sensitivity and extensive ranges can be taken into *** sensitivity of the fabricated prototype is 15 pm/kPa,and the range is about 0.2 *** the same time,the metal-free feature of the sensor makes it suitable for use in various oil-immersed power *** records oil pressure changes caused by oil discharge breakdown,making it sensitive to small pressure changes in early failures.

As the first attempt,this paper proposes a model for the Chinese high school timetabling problems(CHSTPs)under the new curriculum innovation which was launched in 2011 by the Chine6e *** 10 the new our riculum innovation,students in high school can choose subjects that they are interested in instead of being forced to select one of the two study directions,namely,Science and Liberal ***,they also need to attend compulsory subjects as *** are student-oriented and involve more student constraints that make them more complex than the typi-cal"Class-Teacher model",in which the element"Teacher"is the primary *** this paper,we first describe in detail the mathematical model of CHSTPs and then design a new two-part representation for the candidate *** on the new representation,we adopt a two-phase simulated annealing(SA)algorithm to solve CHSTPs.A total number of 45 synthetic instances with different amounts of classes,teachers,and levels of student constraints are generated and used to ilustrate the characteristics of the CHSTP model and the effectiveness of the designed representation and ***,we apply the proposed model,the designed two-part representation and the two-phase SA on10 real high schools.

Various time-frequency(T-F)masks are being applied to sound source localization ***,deep learning has dramatically advanced T-F mask ***,existing masks are usually designed for speech separation tasks and are suitable only for single-channel signals.A novel complex-valued T-F mask is proposed that reserves the head-related transfer function(HRTF),customized for binaural sound source *** addition,because the convolutional neural network that is exploited to estimate the proposed mask takes binaural spectral information as the input and output,accurate binaural cues can be *** with conventional T-F masks that emphasize single speech source–dominated T-F units,HRTFreserved masks eliminate the speech component while keeping the direct propagation ***,the estimated HRTF is capable of extracting more reliable localization features for the final direction of arrival ***,binaural sound source localization guided by the proposed T-F mask is robust under noisy and reverberant acoustic *** experimental results demonstrate that the new T-F mask is superior to conventional T-F masks and lead to the better performance of sound source localization in adverse environments.

Audio‐visual wake word spotting is a challenging multi‐modal task that exploits visual information of lip motion patterns to supplement acoustic speech to improve overall detection ***,most audio‐visual wake word spotting models are only suitable for simple single‐speaker scenarios and require high computational *** development is hindered by complex multi‐person scenarios and computational limitations in mobile *** this paper,a novel audio‐visual model is proposed for on‐device multi‐person wake word ***,an attention‐based audio‐visual voice activity detection module is presented,which generates an attention score matrix of audio and visual representations to derive active speaker ***,the knowledge distillation method is introduced to transfer knowledge from the large model to the on‐device model to control the size of our ***,a new audio‐visual dataset,PKU‐KWS,is collected for sentence‐level multi‐person wake word *** results on the PKU‐KWS dataset show that this approach outperforms the previous state‐of‐the‐art methods.

This paper studies a non-reciprocal swarm model that consists of a group of mobile autonomous agents with an attraction-repulsion function governing the interaction of the agents. The function is chosen to have infinitely large values of repulsion for vanishing distance between two agents so as to avoid occurrence of collision. It is shown analytically that under the detailed balance condition in coupling weights, all the agents will aggregate and eventually form a cohesive cluster of finite size around the weighted center of the swarm in a finite time. Moreover, the swarm system is completely stable, namely, the motion of all agents converge to the set of equilibrium points. For the general case of non-reciprocal swarms without the detailed balance condition, numerical simulations show that more complex self-organized oscillations can emerge in the swarms. The effect of noise on collective dynamics of the swarm is also examined with a white Gaussian noise model.

Opiates and dopamine （DA） play key roles in learning and memory in humans and animals. Although interactions between these neurotransmitters have been found, their functional roles remain to be fully elucidated, and their dysfunction may contribute to human diseases and addiction. Here we investigated the interactions of morphine and dopaminergic neurotransmitter systems with respect to learning and memory in rhesus monkeys by using the Wisconsin General Test Apparatus （WGTA） delayed-response task. Morphine and DA agonists （SKF-38393, apomorphine and bromocriptine） or DA antagonists （SKF-83566, haloperidol and sulpiride） were co-administered to the monkeys 30 min prior to the task. We found that dose-patterned co-administration of morphine with D1 or D2 antagonists or agonists reversed the impaired spatial working memory induced by morphine or the compounds alone. For example, morphine at 0.01 mg/kg impaired spatial working memory, while morphine （0.01 mg/kg） and apomorphine （0.01 or 0.06 mg/kg） co-treatment ameliorated this effect. Our findings suggest that the interactions between morphine and dopaminergic compounds influence spatial working memory in rhesus monkeys. A better understanding of these interactive relationships may provide insights into human addiction.

A comparative study of network robustness measures

The robustness is an important functionality of networks because it manifests the ability of networks to resist failures or attacks. Many robustness measures have been proposed from different aspects, which provide us various ways to evaluate the network robustness. However, whether these measures can properly evaluate the network robustness and which aspects of network robustness these measures can evaluate are still open questions. Therefore, in this paper, a thorough introduction over attacks and robustness measures is first given, and then nine widely used robustness mea- sures are comparatively studied. To validate whether a robustness measure can evaluate the network robustness properly, the sensitivity of robustness measures is first studied on both initial and optimized networks. Then, the performance of robustness measures in guiding the optimization process is studied, where both the optimization process and the ob- tained optimized networks are studied. The experimental re- suits show that, first, the robustness measures are more sen- sitive to the changes in initial networks than to those in op- timized networks; second, an optimized network may not be useful in practical situations because some useful function- alities, such as the shortest path length and communication efficiency, are sacrificed too much to improve the robustness; third, the robustness of networks in terms of closely corre- lated robustness measures can often be improved together. These results indicate that it is not wise to just apply the opti- mized networks obtained by optimizing over one certain robustness measure into practical situations. Practical requirements should be considered, and optimizing over two or more suitable robustness measures simultaneously is also a promising way.

Optimization methods for regularization-based ill-posed problems： a survey and a multi-objective framework

Ill-posed problems are widely existed in signat processing. In this paper, we review popular regularization models such as truncated singular value decomposi- tion regularization, iterative regularization, variational regularizafion. Meanwhile, we also retrospect popular optimiza- tion approaches and regularization parameter choice meth- ods. In fact, the regularization problem is inherently a multi- objective problem. The traditional methods usually combine the fidelity term and the regularization term into a single- objective with regularization parameters, which are difficult to tune. Therefore, we propose a multi-objective framework for ill-posed problems, which can handle complex features of problem such as non-convexity, discontinuity. In this framework, the fidelity term and regularization term are optimized simultaneously to gain more insights into the ill-posed prob- lems. A case study on signal recovery shows the effectiveness of the multi-objective framework for ill-posed problems.
