A new species of the genus Leptolalax (Anura： Megophryidae) from southern Vietnam

We describe a new species of megophryid frog from Phu Yen Province in southern Vietnam. Leptolalax macrops sp. nov. is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological attributes：（1） body size medium （SVL 28.0-29.3 mm in three adult males, 30.3 mm in single adult female）; （2） supra-axillary glands present, creamy white; ventrolateral glands indistinct; （3） tympanum externally distinct; （4） dorsal skin roughly granular with larger tubercles, dermal ridges on dorsum absent; （5） rudimentary webbing present between fingers I-II and I1-111; rudimentary webbing between all toes; fingers and toes without dermal fringes; （6） in life ventral surface greyish-violet with white speckling; （7） supratympanic fold distinct, dark brown in life; （8） iris bicolored, typically golden in upper half, fading to golden green in lower half; （9） tibia short （TbL/SVL 0.44-0.45 in males）; and （10） eyes large and protuberant （ED/SVL 0.15-0.16 in males） From all congeners for which comparable sequences are available, the new species differs markedly in the 16S rRNA mitochondrial gene sequence （P-distance〉5.7%）. The new species is currently known only from montane evergreen tropical forests of Song Hinh District, Phu Yen Province, and M＇Drak District of Dak Lak Province at elevations of 470-630 m a.s.l.. We suggest the new species should be considered as Data Deficient following the IUCN＇s Red List categories. We also report a previously unknownLeptolalax mtDNA lineage from an evergreen tropica forest in the Hoa Thinh District of Phu Yen Province which may also represent an undescribed species.

Predicting Βeta-Turns and Βeta-Turn Types Using a Novel Over-Sampling Approach

β-turn is one of the most important reverse turns because of its role in protein folding. Many computational methods have been studied for predicting β-turns and β-turn types. However, due to the imbalanced dataset, the performance is still inadequate. In this study, we proposed a novel over-sampling technique FOST to deal with the class-imbalance problem. Experimental results on three standard benchmark datasets showed that our method is comparable with state-of-the-art methods. In addition, we applied our algorithm to five benchmark datasets from UCI Machine Learning Repository and achieved significant improvement in G-mean and Sensitivity. It means that our method is also effective for various imbalanced data other than β-turns and β-turn types.

Influence of sintering behavior on the microstructure and electrical properties of BaTiO_(3) lead-free ceramics from hydrothermal synthesized precursor nanoparticles

BaTiO_(3) nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrothermal method using amorphous phase TiO_(2) precursor as the *** microstructure and phase structure were determined using XRD,SEM and Raman spectroscopy analysis *** results showed that BaTiO_(3) nanoparticles have tetragonal structure,average size of about 100 nm was obtained at Ba/Ti ratio of 1.5,synthesis temperature of 200℃ and reaction time of 12 *** components of the BaTiO_(3) lead-free ceramic system are fabricated by conventional solid-phase reaction from the average size BaTiO_(3) particles about 100 nm obtained by hydrothermal *** effects of sintering behavior on dielectric,ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of BT high-density ceramic were *** BaTiO_(3) ceramic composition sintered at 1300℃ has a relative density of 97%,the value of the electromechanical coefficient kp=0.40,k33=0.42,the large piezoelectric coefficient d_(33)=300 pC/N,d_(31)=−125 pC/N.

The diversity of aquatic resources in Thi Nai Lagoon decreased due to the lack of harmonious use and integrated long-term planning on the use of living *** remained a lack of mechanisms and regulations for coordination of activities in the lagoon by Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee(PPC).The aim of the study was to investgate the aquatic species and water quality in Thi Nai Lagoon,*** were collected at 23 different points on Thi Nai Lagoon,with three replicates at each *** were 106 species of fish presented on the lagoon and in different sizes,including 17 mollusc species and 15 crustaceans *** the dry season,there were 167 phytoplankton species in five divisions,10 classes in 39 orders in 59 families including 77 *** had eight chordata in 10 classes of 18 orders including 44 families,64 genus and 102 *** had the largest number of species,78 species,accounting for 76.5%of total *** the rainy season,only 48 species of Arthropoda,Cnidaria,Annelida,Chaetognatha and Rotifer were affected and some were not encountered in the wet season,such as mollusca and *** water quality variables were still good for aquaculture,within permitted limits of TCVN standard and criteria,there were still problems caused by production discharges and living activities of inhabitants around the lagoon,such as sedimentary matters.

Feature Analysis and Classification of Particle Data from Two-Dimensional Video Disdrometer

We developed a ground observation system for solid precipitation using two-dimensional video disdrometer (2DVD). Among 16,010 particles observed by the system, around 10% of them were randomly sampled and manually classified into five classes which are snowflake, snowflake-like, intermediate, graupel-like, and graupel. At first, each particle was represented as a vector of 72 features containing fractal dimension and box-count to represent the complexity of particle shape. Feature analysis on the dataset clarified the importance of fractal dimension and box-count features for characterizing particles varying from snowflakes to graupels. On the other hand, performance evaluation of two-class classification by Support Vector Machine (SVM) was conducted. The experimental results revealed that, by selecting only 10 features out of 72, the average accuracy of classifying particles into snowflakes and graupels could reach around 95.4%, which had not been achieved by previous studies.

In this work, the vibration characteristics of a piezoelectric ceramic disk with different dimensional ratio are studied by simulation method. Computational finite element modeling combined with the computational programs has allowed for the prediction of the effect, the change of diameter-to-thickness ratio on the resonant characteristics, the vibration modes as well as comparing the physic properties of piezoceramics. Three types of piezoelectric materials were chosen, piezoelectric materials (PZT) and Pb-free piezoelectric materials Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3-50(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3(BZT-50BCT), BaTiO3 for research.

Polymeric Liquid Templating of Hierarchical Porous Films by Nanofibrillar Alginic Acid Assemblies

Hierarchical phases of the biomaterials can be used as template to transfer their intricate organization into biomimic inorganic solids. Herein, hierarchical mesoporous silica films with aligned pores have been templated by nanofibrillar alginic acid. An aqueous suspension of the alginic acid nanofibers was prepared by treating the brown seaweeds with sodium carbonate solution and subsequent precipitation in dilute hydrochloric acid. The alginic acid nanofibers of the organize into a hierarchical aligned phase in an acetic acid-sodium acetate buffer that was used to template silica-alginic acid composite films by evaporation induced self-assembly of alkoxysilane with nanofibrillar alginic acid. Calcination of the alginic acid template afforded hierarchical mesoporous silica glasses. Carbonization of the silica-alginic acid composites and subsequent etching the silica recovered mesoporous carbon supercapacitors.

Impacts of Rapid Urbanization to Traditional Living Environment and Community Linkage in Historic Old Quarters of Vietnam： A Case Study on Gia Hoi Area in hue City, Central Vietnam

Though with slight ups and downs, Vietnamese economies have been flourishing for recent decades. Just like other remaining historical districts in Asia, those of Vietnam have been going through rapid urbanization and transformation. The rapid urbanization impacts on traditional living environment. This paper examines the impacts of rapid urbanization to traditional living environment and community linkage, illustrating a case study of the Gia Hoi area of the historic old district in the city of hue in Central Vietnam. To identify the impacts, a comparative analysis is conducted between neighbors along a main street which were more impacted by urbanization and those along a small alley which were less impacted. Through the analysis of field and questionnaire surveys, it found out that socioeconomic conditions, in particular, community linkage of households along main street and small ally varied significantly. It argues that in historical district, social capital is not well-spread, but rather concentrated along small allies, and small allies play an important role for sustainable community.

Attribute reduction,also known as feature selection,for decision information systems is one of the most pivotal issues in machine learning and data *** based on the rough set theory and some extensions were proved to be efficient for dealing with the problemof attribute ***,the intuitionistic fuzzy sets based methods have not received much interest,while these methods are well-known as a very powerful approach to noisy decision tables,i.e.,data tables with the low initial classification ***,this paper provides a novel incremental attribute reductionmethod to dealmore effectivelywith noisy decision tables,especially for highdimensional *** particular,we define a new reduct and then design an original attribute reduction method based on the distance measure between two intuitionistic fuzzy *** should be noted that the intuitionistic fuzzypartitiondistance iswell-knownas aneffectivemeasure todetermine important *** interestingly,an incremental formula is also developed to quickly compute the intuitionistic fuzzy partition distance in case when the decision table increases in the number of *** formula is then applied to construct an incremental attribute reduction algorithm for handling such dynamic ***,some experiments are conducted on real datasets to show that our method is far superior to the fuzzy rough set based methods in terms of the size of reduct and the classification accuracy.

Terapon jarbua was collected from Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon systems and then their reproductive performances were *** 342 species were caught by otter trawlers and different fishing gears in marine and Tam Giang-Cau Hai lagoon systems on certain days of each month during period from September 2015 to August 2016 at fishing *** determination of age was based on composition of the fish:ear,scaly,spine,gill cover and spine and the ovarian histology *** gonads after being fixed with Bouins solution were cleansed,cut,dyed and put on the observation *** showed that the sex of Terapon jarbua was nearly clarified at the approximately 1+age group and participated in reproduction process in the first time at the 1+age *** batch and relative fecundity of Terapon jarbua were *** batch fecundity of Terapon jarbua varied from 239,029 to 420,400 *** relative fecundity capacity fluctuated from 945 to 1,013 of eggs per gram of fish and the mean value by 981 eggs per gram of *** spawning season of fish occurred from March to May annually.
