Opinion consensus incorporating higher-order interactions in individual-collective networks

In the current information society, the dissemination mechanisms and evolution laws of individual or collective opinions and their behaviors are the research hot topics in the field of opinion dynamics. First, in this paper, a two-layer network consisting of an individual-opinion layer and a collective-opinion layer is constructed, and a dissemination model of opinions incorporating higher-order interactions(i.e. OIHOI dissemination model) is proposed. Furthermore, the dynamic equations of opinion dissemination for both individuals and groups are presented. Using Lyapunov's first method,two equilibrium points, including the negative consensus point and positive consensus point, and the dynamic equations obtained for opinion dissemination, are analyzed theoretically. In addition, for individual opinions and collective opinions,some conditions for reaching negative consensus and positive consensus as well as the theoretical expression for the dissemination threshold are put forward. Numerical simulations are carried to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results, as well as the influence of the intra-structure, inter-connections, and higher-order interactions on the dissemination and evolution of individual opinions. The main results are as follows.(i) When the intra-structure of the collective-opinion layer meets certain characteristics, then a negative or positive consensus is easier to reach for individuals.(ii) Both negative consensus and positive consensus perform best in mixed type of inter-connections in the two-layer network.(iii) Higher-order interactions can quickly eliminate differences in individual opinions, thereby enabling individuals to reach consensus faster.

Fat is one of the three macronutrients and a significant energy source for piglets. It plays a positive role in maintaining intestinal health and improving production performance. During the weaning period,physiological, stress and diet-related factors influence the absorption of fat in piglets, leading to damage to the intestinal barrier, diarrhea and even death. Signaling pathways, such as fatty acid translocase(CD36), pregnane X receptor(PXR), and AMP-dependent protein kinase(AMPK), are responsible for regulating intestinal fat uptake and maintaining intestinal barrier function. Therefore, this review mainly elaborates on the reasons for diarrhea induced by insufficient fat absorption and related signaling pathways in weaned-piglets, with an emphasis on the intestinal fat absorption disorder. Moreover, we focus on introducing nutritional strategies that can promote intestinal fat absorption in piglets with insufficient fat absorption-related diarrhea, such as lipase, amino acids, and probiotics.

Circadian clock drives the 24-h rhythm in our behavior and physiology.The molecular clock consists of a series of transcriptional/translational feedback loops operated by a number of clock genes.A very recent study reported that the clock protein PERIOD(PER)is organized into discrete foci at the nuclear envelope in fly circadian neurons,which is believed to be important for controlling the subcellular localization of clock genes.Loss of inner nuclear membrane protein lamin B receptor(LBR)leads to disruption of these foci,but how they are regulated is yet unknown.Here,we found that PER foci are likely phase-separated condensates,the formation of which is mediated by intrinsically disordered region in PER.Phosphorylation promotes the accumulation of these foci.Protein phosphatase 2A,which is known to dephosphorylate PER,hampers the accumulation of the foci.On the other hand,the circadian kinase DOUBLETIME(DBT)which phosphorylates PER enhances the accumulation of the foci.LBR likely facilitates PER foci accumulation by destabilizing the catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase 2A,MICROTUBULE STAR(MTS).In conclusion,here,we demonstrate a key role for phosphorylation in promoting the accumulation of PER foci,while LBR modulates this process by impinging on the circadian phosphatase MTS.

The development of alloys with high antioxidation performance is limited by the ambiguous details of the oxidation mechanism.Here,based on the structures of internal oxides detected by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy,a hybrid method combining first-principles calculation,climb image nudged elastic band method and quasi-harmonic Debye model has been implemented to explain the oxidation mechanism with an emphasis on the origin of delamination and cracking.The results showed that the delamination of oxides corresponds to the acceleration of diffusion of Cr element caused by lamellar structures.The reduction in the cracking occurrence at high temperature mainly results from the smaller bulk modulus of oxides.Furthermore,the stronger chemical bonds promoted by lamellar structures also correspond to the higher crackingresistance.

In 2015, a group of mathematicians at the University of Washington, Bothell, discovered the15th pentagon that can cover a plane, with no gaps and overlaps. However, research on its containment measure theory or geometric probability is limited. In this study, the Laplace extension of Buffon’s problem is generalized to the case of the 15th pentagon. In the solving process, the explicit expressions for the generalized support function and containment function of this irregular pentagon are derived.In addition, the chord length distribution function and density function of random distance of this pentagon are obtained in terms of the containment function.

Floquet engineering has attracted considerable attention as a promising approach for tuning topological phase transitions.We investigate the effects of high-frequency time-periodic driving in a four-dimensional(4D)topological insulator,focusing on topological phase transitions at the off-resonant quasienergy gap.The 4D topological insulator hosts gapless three-dimensional boundary states,characterized by the second Chern number C_(2).We demonstrate that the second Chern number of 4D topological insulators can be modulated by tuning the amplitude of time-periodic driving.This includes transitions from a topological phase with C_(2)=±3 to another topological phase with C_(2)=±1,or to a topological phase with an even second Chern number C_(2)=±2,which is absent in the 4D static system.Finally,the approximation theory in the high-frequency limit further confirms the numerical conclusions.

Operating conditions strongly affect the yield and quality of polysilicon in a polysilicon fluidized bed.In this study,a new model of polysilicon fluidized bed was established using the Euler-Euler model coupled with population balance model(PBM),which was combined with fluid flow,heat,and mass transfer models,while considering the scavenging effect of silicon fines.The effects of different operating conditions on the deposition and formation rates of silicon fines were investigated.Results show that the model can correctly describe the particle growth process in the fluidized bed of polysilicon.The silicon fines and the interphase velocity difference show"N"-and"M"-shaped distributions along the axial direction,respectively.The particle temperature and concentration near the wall are higher than those in the central region.The decomposition of silane in the bottom region of the bed is dominated by het-erogeneous deposition.The scavenging of silicon fines occurs in the dilute-phase region.The effects of operating conditions,i.***.inlet gas temperature,silane composition,and gas velocity,on the reactor performance were also explored comprehensively.Increasing the inlet gas composition and velocity enhances the formation rates of solid silicon and fines.Increasing the inlet gas temperature promotes the growth of solid silicon and inhibits the formation of silicon fines.High fluidization ratio,low inlet silane concentration,and high inlet gas temperature enhance the selectivity of silicon growth.

Data-driven Wasserstein distributionally robust chance-constrained optimization for crude oil scheduling under uncertainty

Crude oil scheduling optimization is an effective method to enhance the economic benefits of oil refining.But uncertainties,including uncertain demands of crude distillation units(CDUs),might make the production plans made by the traditional deterministic optimization models infeasible.A data-driven Wasserstein distributionally robust chance-constrained(WDRCC)optimization approach is proposed in this paper to deal with demand uncertainty in crude oil scheduling.First,a new deterministic crude oil scheduling optimization model is developed as the basis of this approach.The Wasserstein distance is then used to build ambiguity sets from historical data to describe the possible realizations of probability distributions of uncertain demands.A cross-validation method is advanced to choose suitable radii for these ambiguity sets.The deterministic model is reformulated as a WDRCC optimization model for crude oil scheduling to guarantee the demand constraints hold with a desired high probability even in the worst situation in ambiguity sets.The proposed WDRCC model is transferred into an equivalent conditional value-at-risk representation and further derived as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming counterpart.Industrial case studies from a real-world refinery are conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.Out-of-sample tests demonstrate that the solution of the WDRCC model is more robust than those of the deterministic model and the chance-constrained model.

To investigate the evolutionary behavior of the MnO–SiO_(2)–Al_(2)O_(3)–MgO inclusions during heat treatment,water quenched samples were isothermally held at 1100°C for 120 min in Ar and air atmosphere,and the obtaining samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectrometer.It showed that 3MnO·Al_(2)O_(3)·3SiO_(2)and MnO·SiO_(2)were detected in the 5 wt.%MgO system after isothermal holding in Ar atmosphere,while MgO·Al_(2)O_(3),MnO·SiO_(2)and Mn7O8·SiO4 were detected in air atmosphere.The evolutionary behavior of the 10,15 and 20 wt.%MgO systems after isothermal holding in different atmosphere were consistent.Oxygen affected the solid phase transformation of the low MgO content systems.The calculation results of FactSage 8.1 showed that MgO·Al_(2)O_(3)was formed in the 5 wt.%MgO system with air atmosphere.The solid phase transformation was accompanied by grain coarsening during the isothermal holding process.The differences in the solid phase transformation in different atmosphere of the 5 wt.%MgO system indicated that it was a gas-phase transport grain coarsening mechanism.The enrichment of Al element in the liquid phase region at the grain edges,the homogeneous distribution of Mg element and the disappearance of the liquid phase within the crystal revealed that other MgO content systems were liquid–solid transport grain coarsening mechanism.
