Aim:To assess the effects and mechanisms of the action of resistin on basal andinsulin-stimulated glucose uptake in rat skeletal muscle ***:Rat myo-blasts（L6）were cultured and differentiated into myotubes followed by stimula-tion with single commercial resistin（130 ng/mL,0-24 h）or cultured supernatantfrom 293-T cells transfected with resistin-expressing vectors（130 ng/mL,0-24 h）.Liquid scintillation counting was used to quantitate[3H]2-deoxyglucose *** translocation of insulin-sensitive glucose transporters GLUT4 and GLUT1,synaptosomal-associated protein 23（SNAP23）and GLUT protein content,as wellas the tyrosine phosphorylation status and protein content of insulin receptorsubstrate（IRS）-1,were assessed by Western ***:Treatment of L6myotubes with single resistin or cultured supernatant containing recombinantresistin reduced basal and insulin-stimulated 2-deoxyglucose uptake and impairedinsulin-stimulated GLUT4 *** SNAP23 protein content wasdecreased,no effects were noted in GLUT4 or GLUT1 protein *** diminished insulin-stimulated IRS-1 tyrosine phosphorylation levels withoutaffecting its protein *** effects of recombinant resistin from 293-T cellstransfected with resistin-expressing vectors were greater than that of single ***:Resistin regulated IRS-1 function and decreased GLUT4translocation and glucose uptake in response to *** downregulatedexpression of SNAP23 may have been partly attributed to the decrease of glucoseuptake by resistin *** observations highlight the potential role ofresistin in the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes related to obesity.

Background Human milk banks (HMB) have been established for over 100 years in North America and *** study aimed to describe and summarize the operation and characteristics of the HMBs in China's Mainland since the first nonprofit HMB operated in *** Operation of HMB in China's Mainland is based on the standards and guidelines of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America and some countries in Europe and was modified to meet the needs and circumstances in China such as donation only in the local HMB by medical *** reviewed the descriptive data of these 14 HMBs and the clinical characteristics of recipients,the eligible milk donors and the donor milk *** In China's Mainland,from March 2013 to December 2016,14 nonprofit HMBs were developed and operational in public hospitals except one and located in the south,east,north and northwest of China's *** total,2680 eligible donors donated 4608.2 L of breast *** mean age of these donors was 29.4 years with 60.6% receiving college education and 90.6% term delivery.A total of 4678 recipients including preterm infants (n =2990,63.9%),feeding intolerance (n =711,15.2%),maternal illness (n =345,7.4%),serious infection (n =314,6.7%),necrotising enterocolitis (n =244,5.2%),post-surgery (n =38,0.8%) and others (n =36,0.8%).The rate of discarded raw milk was only 4.4% because of hepatitis B and C or cytomegalovirus *** HMB has been developing rapidly in China's *** human milk was used not only for preterm infants but also for other ill *** the sustainability of milk banking needs proper management and more financial support by relative health authorities and the government.

Objective To investigate the association between autism and prenatal environmental risk *** A case-control study was conducted among 193 children with autism from the specialeducational schools and 733 typical development controls matched by age and gender by usingquestionnaire in Tianjin from 2007 to 2012. Statistical analysis included quick unbiased efficientstatistical tree （QUEST） and logistic regression in SPSS *** There were four predictors by QUEST and the logistic regression analysis, maternal airconditioner use during pregnancy （OR=0.316, 95% CI： 0.215-0.463） was the single first-level node（χ2=50.994, P=0.000）; newborn complications （OR=4.277, 95% CI： 2.314-7.908） and paternalconsumption of freshwater fish （OR=0.383, 95% CI： 0.256-0.573） were second-layer predictors（χ2=45.248, P=0.000; χ2=24.212, P=0.000）; and maternal depression （OR=4.822, 95% CI： 3.047-7.631）was the single third-level predictor （χ2=23.835, P=0.000）. The prediction accuracy of the tree was 89.2%.Conclusion The air conditioner use during pregnancy and paternal freshwater fish diet might bebeneficial for the prevention of autism, while newborn complications and maternal depression might bethe risk factors.

BACKGROUND： Exposure to low-level lead has a toxic effect on the development of neonates, which has attracted wide attention. Colostrum lead level can be used as the indication of lead exposure. OBJECTIVE： To observe the relationship of colostrum lead level and the neurobehavioral development of infants. DESIGN： A prospective control observation. SETTING： Center for maternal and child health, Shanxi Provincial children＇s hospital. PARTICIPANTS： Totally 128 neonates of full-term normal delivery, 76 male and 52 female, from Shanxi Provincial maternal and child health Center and Jiexiu maternal and child health Center were involved in this study. All the involved neonates had no peripartal ischemic/hypoxic history or fetus intrauterine developmental lag. Pregnant women had no various acute and chronic diseases in pregnancy, family history of neurological disease or occupational lead exposure. 128 portions of colostrum sample of full-term normal delivery were collected. Informed consents of detected items were obtained from the puerperants and their relatives. METHODS： ① Experimental grouping： Lead level in the colostrum was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry. According to lead level in the colostrum, the neonates were classified into two exposure groups of greater than or equal to 0.24 μmol/L in a high-level lead group and less than 0.24 μ mol/L in a low-level lead group. ② Experimental evaluation： Mental developmental index （MDI） and psychological developmental index （PDI） of 3-month-old infants were evaluated with Bayley Scales of Infant Development （BSID）. The relationships of MDI, PDI and colostrum lead level were performed correlation regression analysis; The relationship of colostrum lead level and development was performed multi-factor analysis with family environment and health questionnaires. The coverage and quality of screening are essential for reducing the incidence of cervical precancers and cervical *** multicenter study aimed to investigate the relationship between screening quality and the detection of cervical precancers and cervical *** study was conducted from June to December 2021 in six hospitals across six *** 2,945 participants were non-pregnant women who underwent colposcopy *** average age of participants was 40.9±11.5 years *** 6.9%of participants had received human papillomavirus(HPV)vaccination.A total of 92.6%of participants had abnormal cervical screening *** the participants,577 had high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions(HSIL)or worse(≥HSIL),with a detection rate of 19.6%.Univariate analysis indicated that a lack of cervical cancer screening history in the past five years,as well as positive cervical screening and abnormal colposcopic impression,were independent associated factors of the≥HSIL detection rate.A multivariable logistic regression showed that positive cervical screening[odds ratio(OR)=1.75,95%confidence interval(CI):1.07–2.86]was a risk factor for detecting≥***-grade,high-grade,and cancer of colposcopic impression were associated with a higher risk for detecting≥HSIL(OR=2.94,95%CI:2.13–4.08;OR=36.64,95%CI:26.07–51.48).It is important to disseminate health knowledge to improve public awareness of cervical cancer prevention and to enhance the capacity building of professional staff to improve the quality of cervical cancer screening.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of low-dose tibolone therapy on ovarian area, uterine volume and endometrial thickness, and define the cut-off value of endometrial thickness for curettage during uterine bleeding. We followed 619 postmenopausal women, aged 40-60 years, for two years. There were 301 subjects in the low-dose tibolone treatment group and 318 subjects in the control group. The ovarian area, uterine volume and endometrial thickness in all participants were measured by transvaginal ultrasound prior to, one and two years post enrollment, respectively. Endometrial specimens were collected from all subjects with abnormal uterine bleeding during the follow-up period. We found that the uterine volume in the treatment group was greater than that in the control group, and the difference was significant （P〈0.05）, but there were no significant differences in ovarian area and endometrial thickness between the two groups （P〉0.05）. When the cut-off value for endometrial thickness was 7.35 ram, the sensitivity and specificity were 100% and 79.07%, respectively, and 85.71% and 93.02% when 7.55 mm was set as the cut-offduring tibolone therapy. The results indicate that low-dose tibolone therapy may postpone uterine atrophy and the cut-off value of endometrial thickness may be appropriately adjusted for curettage.
