A Bio-inspired Mutual-hook Strategy for the Soft Finger to Improve Load-bearing Capacity and Grasping Stability

Soft grippers have great potential applications in daily life,since they can compliantly grasp soft and delicate ***,the highly elastic fingers of most soft grippers are prone to separate from each other while grasping objects due to their low stiffness,thus reducing the grasping stability and load-bearing *** tackle this problem,inspired from the venus flytrap plant,this work proposes a mutual-hook mechanism to restrain the separation and improve the grasping performance of soft *** novel soft gripper design consists of three modules,a soft finger-cot,two Soft Hook Actuators(SHAs)and two sliding ***,the soft finger-cot covers on the soft finger,increasing the contact area with the target object,two SHAs are fixed to the left and right sides of the finger-cot,and the sliding mechanisms are designed to make SHAs stretch *** demonstrate that the proposed design can restrain the separation of soft fingers substantially,and the soft fingers with the finger-cots can grasp objects three times heavier than the soft fingers without the proposed *** proposed design can provide invaluable insights for soft fingers to restrain the separation while grasping,thus improving the grasping stability and the load-bearing capacity.

Aerial threat assessment is a crucial link in modern air combat, whose result counts a great deal for commanders to make decisions. With the consideration that the existing threat assessment methods have difficulties in dealing with high dimensional time series target data, a threat assessment method based on self-attention mechanism and gated recurrent unit(SAGRU) is proposed. Firstly, a threat feature system including air combat situations and capability features is established. Moreover, a data augmentation process based on fractional fourier transform(FRFT) is applied to extract more valuable information from time series situation features. Furthermore, aiming to capture key characteristics of battlefield evolution, a bidirectional GRU and SA mechanisms are designed for enhanced ***, after the concatenation of the processed air combat situation and capability features, the target threat level will be predicted by fully connected neural layers and the softmax classifier. Finally, in order to validate this model, an air combat dataset generated by a combat simulation system is introduced for model training and testing. The comparison experiments show the proposed model has structural rationality and can perform threat assessment faster and more accurately than the other existing models based on deep learning.

An LESO Based Backstepping controller Considering Coal Seam Hardness for Rotary Speed in Coal Mine Tunnel Drilling Process

In the process of coal mine drilling, controlling the rotary speed is important as it determines the efficiency and safety of drilling. In this paper, a linear extended state observer(LESO) based backstepping controller for rotary speed is proposed, which can overcome the impact of changes in coal seam hardness on rotary speed. Firstly, the influence of coal seam hardness on the drilling rig's rotary system is considered for the first time, which is reflected in the numerical variation of load torque, and a dynamic model for the design of rotary speed controller is established. Then an LESO is designed to observe the load torque, and feedforward compensation is carried out to overcome the influence of coal seam hardness. Based on the model of the compensated system, a backstepping method is used to design a controller to achieve tracking control of the rotary speed. Finally, the effectiveness of the controller designed in this paper is demonstrated through simulation and field experiments, the steady-state error of the rotary speed in field is 1 r/min, and the overshoot is reduced to 5.8%. This greatly improves the stability and security, which is exactly what the drilling process requires.

This paper develops a quadratic function convex approximation approach to deal with the negative definite problem of the quadratic function induced by stability analysis of linear systems with time-varying *** introducing two adjustable parameters and two free variables,a novel convex function greater than or equal to the quadratic function is constructed,regardless of the sign of the coefficient in the quadratic *** developed lemma can also be degenerated into the existing quadratic function negative-determination(QFND)lemma and relaxed QFND lemma respectively,by setting two adjustable parameters and two free variables as some particular ***,for a linear system with time-varying delays,a relaxed stability criterion is established via our developed lemma,together with the quivalent reciprocal combination technique and the Bessel-Legendre *** a result,the conservatism can be reduced via the proposed approach in the context of constructing Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals for the stability analysis of linear time-varying delay ***,the superiority of our results is illustrated through three numerical examples.

Emotion recognition in conversation(ERC) has attracted growing attention in recent years as a result of the advancement and implementation of human-computer interface technologies. In this paper,we propose an emotional inertia and contagion-driven dependency modeling approach(EmotionIC) for ERC tasks. Our EmotionIC consists of three main components, i.e., identity masked multi-head attention(IMMHA), dialogue-based gated recurrent unit(DiaGRU), and skip-chain conditional random field(SkipCRF).Compared to previous ERC models, EmotionIC can model a conversation more thoroughly at both the feature-extraction and classification levels. The proposed model attempts to integrate the advantages of attention-and recurrence-based methods at the feature-extraction level. Specifically, IMMHA is applied to capture identity-based global contextual dependencies, while Dia GRU is utilized to extract speaker-and temporal-aware local contextual information. At the classification level, SkipCRF can explicitly mine complex emotional flows from higher-order neighboring utterances in the conversation. Experimental results show that our method can significantly outperform the state-of-the-art models on four benchmark *** ablation studies confirm that our modules can effectively model emotional inertia and contagion.

This paper develops distributed algorithms for solving Sylvester equations. The authors transform solving Sylvester equations into a distributed optimization problem, unifying all eight standard distributed matrix structures. Then the authors propose a distributed algorithm to find the least squares solution and achieve an explicit linear convergence rate. These results are obtained by carefully choosing the step-size of the algorithm, which requires particular information of data and Laplacian matrices. To avoid these centralized quantities, the authors further develop a distributed scaling technique by using local information only. As a result, the proposed distributed algorithm along with the distributed scaling design yields a universal method for solving Sylvester equations over a multi-agent network with the constant step-size freely chosen from configurable intervals. Finally, the authors provide three examples to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Collaborative coverage path planning(CCPP) refers to obtaining the shortest paths passing over all places except obstacles in a certain area or space. A multi-unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) collaborative CCPP algorithm is proposed for the urban rescue search or military search in outdoor *** to flexible control of small UAVs, it can be considered that all UAVs fly at the same altitude, that is, they perform search tasks on a two-dimensional plane. Based on the agents’ motion characteristics and environmental information, a mathematical model of CCPP problem is established. The minimum time for UAVs to complete the CCPP is the objective function, and complete coverage constraint, no-fly constraint, collision avoidance constraint, and communication constraint are considered. four motion strategies and two communication strategies are designed. Then a distributed CCPP algorithm is designed based on hybrid strategies. Simulation results compared with patternbased genetic algorithm(PBGA) and random search method show that the proposed method has stronger real-time performance and better scalability and can complete the complete CCPP task more efficiently and stably.

for a class of time-delay discrete-time linear systems with external disturbance and measurement noise, the interval estimation problems of state and measurement noise are investigated in this paper. First, the system state together with the time-delay term and measurement noise is augmented as a new state, and a singular system is then constructed. Subsequently, a kind of decoupling technique is employed to eliminate the effect of external disturbance, and an observer is designed to simultaneously estimate the system state and measurement noise. Based on the estimated state and measurement noise, the interval estimations of system state and measurement noise are obtained by reachability analysis technique. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a four-tank liquid level system.
