A new liquid-liquid microextraction method based on the solidification of floating organic drops coupled with gas chromatography was developed for the determination of trace benzene, toluene and xylene（BTX） in water samples. In the microextraction procedure, a microdrop of n-decanol was delivered to the surface of the analytes’ solution, and stirred for a desired time. Following the absolute extraction, the sample vial was cooled in an ice bath for 10 min. The solidified n-decanol was then transferred into a plastic tube and melted naturally; and 1 μL of it was injected into gas chromatography for analysis. Factors relevant to the extraction efficiency were studied and optimized. The optimal experimental conditions were： 15 μL of n-decanol as extractive solvent, 30 mL of solution containing analytes, no salt, the stirring rate 400 r/min, the extraction temperature 30 °C, and the extraction time 30 min. Under those optimized conditions, the detection limit（LOD） of analytes was in a range of 0.05―0.10 ng/mL by the developed method. A good linearity（r0.99） in a calibration range of 0.01―100 μg/mL was obtained. The recoveries of the real samples at different spiked levels of BTX were in the range from 92.2% to 103.4%.

The title complex bis（2-acetylpyridine thiosemicarbazonato）-indium（iii） perchlo-rate hydrate has been synthesized by the reaction of 2-acetylpyridine thiosemicarbazide（L） with indium（iii） perchlorate,and its structure was characterized by elemental analysis,IR and single-crystal X-ray *** crystal of the title compound（[In（C8H9N4S）2]ClO4·H2O） belongs to monoclinic,space group P21/c with a = 12.6438（18）,b = 12.6259（18）,c = 15.116（2） nm,β = 105.800（2）°,Z = 4,V = 2321.9（6） nm3,Mr = 618.79,Dc = 1.770 g/cm3,μ = 1.359 mm-1,F（000） = 1240,R = 0.0265 and wR = 0.0675.X-ray analysis indicates that various intriguing hydrogen patterns involving both the solvent intermedia and polyatomic counterions play crucial roles in the self-assembly of functional supramolecules.

We investigated the developmental expression pattern of AmphiCaM in cephalochordate amphioxus （Branchiostoma belcheri tsingtauense）. We cultured and sampled the animals at different developmental stages （eggs and larvae）, and used in-situ hybridization and northern blotting to document the spatial and temporal changes in AmphiCaM expression. The alimentary tract dominates the development from the late neurula stage to the adult stage. AmphiCaM expression increased significantly in the alimentary tract during the late neurula stage and remained elevated in the adults. Our results indicate that AmphiCaM is involved in the differentiation of the alimentary tract in amphioxus; and furthermore, provide an insight into the change in function of CaM genes during evolution.

Porous silicon （PSi） prepared from Pt metal-assisted chemical etching （MACE） was demonstrated to possess higher hydrosi- lylation efficiency （-57%） than anodized PSi （-11%） by surface reaction with co-undecenyl alcohol （UO）. Deconvolution of the SiHx （x = 1-3） stretching bands revealed the abundance of SiH2 species on MaCE PSi was 53%, -10% higher than on ano- dized samples, while both of Sill1 and Sill3 were -5% lower correspondently on MaCE PSi than on anodized samples. The surface SiHx abundances were suggested to account for the higher hydrosilylation efficiency on MaCE PSi. Optimization of Pt-assisted chemical etching parameters suggested a 7-15 nm thick Pt-coating and an etching time of 3-10 min for biochip ap- plications. Scanning electron microscopy images revealed that an isotropic top meso-porous layer was beneficial for hydrosi- lylation and long-term durability under ambient conditions. To end, an example of histidine-tagged protein immobilization and microarray was illustrated. Combining the materials＇ property, surface chemistry, and micro-fabrication technology together, we envision that silicon based biochip applications have a prosperous future.

Benthic diatoms constitute the primary diet of abalone during their early stages of development. To evaluate the dietary preferences of early post-larval abalone, Haliotis diversicolor supertexta, we analyzed the gut contents of post-larvae that settled on diatom films. We compared the abundance and species diversity of diatom assemblages in the gut to those of the epiphytic diatom assemblages on the attachment films, and identified 40 benthic diatom species in the gut contents of post-larvae 12 to 24 d after settlement. The most abtmdant taxa in the gut contents were Navicula spp., Amphora copulate, and Amphora coffeaeformis. Navicula spp. accounted for 64.0% of the cell density. In the attachment films, we identified 110 diatom species belonging to 38 genera. Pennate diatoms were the dominant members including the species Amphiprora alata, Cocconeis placentula var. euglypta, Cylindrotheca closterium, Navicula sp. 2, and A. coffeaeformis. Nano-diatoms （〈20 pm in length） accounted for a considerable proportion of the total species number and cell density of the diatom assemblages in the gut contents and on the films. This suggests that nano-diatoms are important to the efficient production of abalone seed. The difference of the composition and abundance of diatoms between in the guts and on the biofilms suggests that early post-larval grazing was selective. An early post-larval abalone preferred nano-diatoms and the genera Navicula and Amphora during the month after settlement.

The technical breakthroughs and rapid developments in nanotechnologies enabling goods and products based on nanomaterials (NMs) has come to media and public attention as potentially one of the most significant technological advances of our time. Among these technical applications, nano-composite food packaging, which combines the NMs and conventional packaging, is at the forefront of applications in nanotechnologies, leading the whole industrial chain based on nanotechnologies with high speed development. Taking into account the status of the nano-composites applied in food packaging and present development trends, this review is focused on summarizing the basic applications of the nano-composites in food packaging as well as its risk assessment. The status summaries and the conclusions derived from this review are of benefit to manufacturers which produce the nano-composites used in food packaging, to general consumers and to governmental administration entities.

Bioaccumulative Characteristics of Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers in Channel Catfish and Fish Feeds from China

PBDEs are widely used brominated flame retardant, which are increasingly reported in the environment. Concentrations of thirteen PBDEs in a large number of channel catfish and fish feeds collected from hubei province of China were investigated in this study. A fast isotopic dilution GC-MS method was firstly developed to simultaneously determine thirteen PBDEs in channel catfish and fish feeds in this study, and especially for the first time PBDEs in fish feeds. Pressurized liquid extraction and multi-layer silica gel column chromatography cleanup were used, some important steps and crucial parameters were modified and intensified compared with other literatures, and GC and MS conditions were optimized. The limits of quantitation values of 0.25 - 5 μg·kg-1 wet weight in channel catfish were calculated for PBDEs;so did 1 - 20 μg·kg-1 wet weight in fish feeds. In addition, good repeatability and accuracy of the whole method were achieved. The established methods were therefore suitable for the simultaneous determinations of thirteen PBDEs in these samples at trace contamination levels. Using the established methods, PBDEs emerged in 10 of 180 channel catfish and 13 of 115 fish feeds, and the dominant PBDEs homologues were PBDE-28, PBDE-47, PBDE-100, PBDE-99, PBDE-154, PBDE-153 and PBDE-183. The detection rates of seven PBDEs congeners were in turn respectively 1.74%, 7.83%, 4.35%, 5.22%, 3.48%, 2.61% and 2.61% in fish feeds, and detection rates of seven PBDEs congeners were in turn respectively 1.11%, 3.89%, 2.22%, 1.67%, 1.11%, 1.11% and 1.11% in channel catfish. There was significant correlation in PBDEs between matching channel catfish and fish feeds (R2 = 0.742, P < 0.001, n = 30), suggesting that fish feeds contaminated with PBDEs possibly resulted in PBDEs residual in channel catfish through biological transfer.

Comparison and Analysis of Fabric Deodorization Test Methods

The test methods of deodorization fabric are studied in daily life. In view of different deodorization fabrics and source gases,the detector tube method and gas chromatography-flame ionization detector ( GC-FID ) method were chosen to test the deodorizing rates of fabric and the influencing factors on deodorization test were discussed. Through the two methods,the residual concentration of odorous substance after adsorption can be measured,and the deodorizing rates of deodorization fabric can be got by calculation. The results show that the two test methods are both appropriate for deodorization test of fabric.

The assessment of potential risks posed by formaldehyde in clothing to consumers is of increasing concern worldwide,for free formaldehyde is harmful to human. Some papers focus on hazard and exposure assessment,using quantitative and semi-quantitative method, rather than assessment for the factors related to formaldehyde content. In order to perform early-warning research and risk management,the quantitative risk assessment is used to analyze the imported textile testing data and find the factors related to formaldehyde content. K-means algorithm is the core of the method. It can be concluded that the disqualified textiles have relations with main fiber components,fabric color,season month,and brand. Then the data in the same attribute are clustered by Kmeans algorithm. The different classes are defined as related danger level,respectively severe,moderate,and light.

Based on the flow simulation in the condensing zone of compact spinning with lattice apron and a bead-elastic rod dynamic model of the flexible fiber,trajectories of fibers with different negative pressure are simulated by specially designed Matlab *** displacement components of fibers at YZ profile under different negative pressure conditions are extracted and *** results show that the fibers of different initial positions gradually converge,and are interlaced for position change in yarn cross-section,caused by the airflow in the condensing ***,compact-spun yarn with different negative pressure and conventional ring spun yarn are produced and their twists are *** the results of simulation and experiments illustrate the existence of additional *** the relationship between additional twists and negative pressure is verified.
