Prognostic value of inflammatory markers in predicting recurrencefree survival in gastrointestinal stromal tumor patients:A nomogram-based approach

Research Progress on Early Diagnostic Markers of Urinary Tract Infection Complications after Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy

Urinary calculi are a common and frequently occurring disease in urology. For patients with kidney stones, especially large, multiple or staghorn stones, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is a preferred treatment method. Infection-related complications after percutaneous nephrolithotomy include transient fever, systemic inflammatory response syndrome, and urinary sepsis, especially urinary sepsis, which are considered to be common causes of death after percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Therefore, early identification and timely intervention of biomarkers can reduce the incidence and mortality of postoperative sepsis, as well as the length of hospital stay and hospitalization costs. This article reviews the biomarkers for early identification of urinary tract infection after PCNL, such as traditional inflammatory indicators, new inflammatory indicators, and composite inflammatory indicators.

Long-Term Opacity of Intraocular Lens after Cataract Surgery in 1 Case

Objective: To analyze the clinical manifestations of intraocular lens (IOL) opacity after cataract surgery through case reports, and to explore its pathogenesis and diagnosis and treatment ideas, so as to provide a basis for the early diagnosis and correct treatment of IOL opacity. Methods: The clinical data of one patient diagnosed with IOL opacity and underwent intraocular lens replacement in the Department of Ophthalmology, Affiliated hospital of Youjiang Medical College for nationalities in December 2023 were reported. The characteristics of IOL opacity were observed, and the research progress and pathogenesis of IOL opacity were understood by consulting the literature. Results: This patient is the first case of IOL opacity in our hospital. The specific reason is unclear. It is considered to be related to the IOL material. Conclusion: Hydrophilic acrylic IOL is widely used in clinic because of its good histocompatibility. However, due to its hydrophilicity, there are more cases of IOL opacity than other types of IOL. At present, there is no unified conclusion on the etiology and mechanism of IOL opacity. IOL opacity can seriously affect vision and is easily misdiagnosed as a posterior cataract. We should fully disperse the large pupil and carefully observe under the slit lamp. The most effective treatment for this disease is IOL replacement.

Effect of Percutaneous Catheterization and Negative Pressure Drainage in the Treatment of Giant Pancreatic Pseudocyst

Bcakground: Pancreatic pseudocyst (PPC) is a common complication arising from acute or chronic pancreatitis, trauma, or pancreatic duct obstruction. When acute fluid collection persists for 4 - 6 weeks and is encapsulated by a fibrous wall, it is classified as a pancreatic pseudocyst. While PPC is generally asymptomatic in many patients, it can manifest with persistent abdominal pain, dyspepsia, intra-cystic infection, and potentially lead to gastrointestinal obstruction in some cases. Although smaller PPCs may resolve spontaneously, larger PPCs tend to be refractory to absorption and often necessitate surgical intervention to prevent complications such as intracystic hemorrhage. Objective: To explore the efficacy of percutaneous catheterization with negative pressure in the treatment of large pancreatic pseudocysts. Methods: The cases of large pancreatic pseudocysts treated in our hospital from 2004 to 2022 were retrospectively collected, and the general condition, operation time, drainage time, feeding time, postoperative complications, hospital stay, cost and follow-up of the patients were analyzed. Results: A total of 132 patients with large pancreatic pseudocysts were collected. The average operation time was 32.4 ± 2.1 min;The retention time of the drainage tube was 30 ± 1.8 days in the percutaneous negative pressure drainage group;The postoperative feeding time was no fasting after local anesthesia drainage;Postoperative complications (bleeding, infection, pancreatic leakage, recurrence, anastomotic leakage, etc.): Two of the 132 patients had recurrent cysts, which were cured by re-puncture and negative pressure drainage. The length of hospital stay was 6 ± 1.1 days;The cost was 11,200 ± 1300 yuan;Follow-up: The follow-up time ranged from 1 to 3 years, and the patients had no discomfort. Neuron-derived clone 77 (Nur77) is a member of the NR4A subfamily that plays critical roles in apoptosis, survival, proliferation, autophagy, angiogenesis, inflammatory responses, DNA repair, glycolipid metabolism and energy consumption. The deregulation of Nur77 signalling often relates to various serious diseases, including cancer and non-cancer diseases. A systematic review is necessary for the better understanding of Nur77 in clinical treatment. In this article, we comprehensively conclude the lipid regulation function and expression of Nur77, and its role in COPD. Finally, we prospect that development of drugs and clinical biochemical investigations targeting of Nur77 has considerable potential within healthcare.

Lung cancer is one of the malignant tumor diseases with high morbidity and high mortality in the world. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common pathological type of lung cancer. Currently, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy or combination therapy is the main treatment for NSCLC, but it is still inevitably faced with the challenges of acquired drug resistance and tumor progression. The birth of antibody conjugator provides a new choice for its treatment. Antibody conjugator is a new type of biotherapeutic drug which is connected by monoclonal antibody via linker and cytotoxic drug. It has the characteristics of precision, high efficiency and low toxicity, etc. In recent years, its research and development and clinical trials have been endless. It shows that this new type of drug has great potential in the field of tumor therapy. In this paper, the structural characteristics, mechanism of action, current application, research achievements, challenges, countermeasures and development of ADC in NSCLC treatment are reviewed.
