Security is one of the major challenges that devices connected to the Internet of Things(IoT)face *** attestation is used to measure these devices’trustworthiness on the network by measuring the device platform’s *** software-based attestation mechanisms have been proposed,but none of them can detect runtime *** some researchers have attempted to tackle these attacks,the proposed techniques require additional secured hardware parts to be integrated with the attested devices to achieve their *** solutions are expensive and not suitable in many *** paper proposes a dual attestation process,SAPEM,with two phases:static and *** static attestation phase examines the program memory of the attested *** dynamic program ow attestation examines the execution correctness of the application *** can detect code injection and runtime attacks that hijack the control-ow,including data attacks that affect the program *** main aim is to minimize attestation overhead while maintaining our ability to detect the specied *** validated SAPEM by implementing it on Raspberry Pi using its TrustZone *** attested it against the specied attacks and compared its performance with the related work in the *** results show that SAPEM signicantly minimizes performance overhead while reliably detecting runtime attacks at the binary level.

In recent years,the United Arab Emirates(uae)has developed strategies to increase renewable power generation and reduce emis-sions to net zero by *** generation and energy-intensive industries(EII)have the largest potentials for emission ***,an up-to-date inventory of greenhouse gas emissions and a study of the pathways to achieving the 2050 targets are *** study focuses on power production and EII(aluminium,steel and cement).The structure of these sectors is modelled and simulated up to 2050 using a system dynamics(SD)*** SD model is validated to reflect the real-world state of the system using the emissions inventory projections as reference *** mitigation policies are considered in the selected sectors and four policy scenarios were *** results show that implementing the Energy Strategy 2050 in the power sector can result in a reduction of 63.5%in emissions in that sector,which translates into a reduction of 33.5%overall by ***,implementing all identified mitigation strategies to full utilization in EII yields a 94%reduction in that sector,which translates into a 78%reduction *** the aluminium industry yields the highest emissions reductions,followed by power produc-tion,then cement and finally *** the best-case scenario,22.1%of the business-as-usual emissions are still released and further decarbonization—mainly in the power sector—will be *** is achievable given the trajectory of the uae’s successful nuclear energy programme and the prospect of utilizing carbon capture,utilization and storage even further.

The local design and construction practices in the United Arab Emirates （uae）, together with Dubai＇s unique rate of development, warrant special attention to the selection of Lateral Force-Resisting Systems （LFRS）. This research proposes four different feasible solutions for the selection of the LFRS for tall buildings and quantifies the impact of these selections on seismic performance and cost. The systems considered are： Steel Special Moment-Resisting Frame （SMRF）, Concrete SMRF, Steel Dual System （SMRF with Special Steel Plates Shear Wall, SPSW）, and Concrete Dual System （SMRF with Special Concrete Shear Wall, SCSW）. The LFRS selection is driven by seismic setup as well as the adopted design and construction practices in Dubai. It is found that the concrete design alternatives are consistently less expensive than their steel counterparts. The steel dual system is expected to have the least damage based on its relatively lesser interstory drifts. However, this preferred performance comes at a higher initial construction cost. Conversely, the steel SMRF system is expected to have the most damage and associated repair cost due to its excessive flexibility. The two concrete alternatives are expected to have relatively moderate damage and repair costs in addition to their lesser initial construction cost.

Gosper introduced the functions sinq z and cosq z as q-analogues for the trigonometric functions sin z and cos z respectively. He stated a variety of identities involving these two q-trigonometric functions along with certain constants denoted by Πqn （n ∈ N）. Gosper noticed that all his formulas on these constants have more than two of the Πqn. So, it is natural to raise the question of establishing identities involving only two of the Πqn. In this paper, our main goal is to give examples of such formulas in only two Πqn.

Smart contact lenses have recently gained traction due to their functionalization as noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic wearables that can address several ocular ***,multifunctional contact lenses exhibiting UV-transition and temperature-responsive capabilities were developed utilizing chromogenic materials that were integrated simultaneously into poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)(pHEMA)contact *** functionalities of the contact lenses were optically evaluated in both their activated and non-activated *** contact lenses offered excellent UV and blue light blocking capabilities(~45%)at their inactive *** activated via UV exposure,the transparent lenses darkened instantaneously and absorbed portions of the visible light *** absorption intensity and transient discoloration of the transition lenses relied primarily on the utilized photochromic ***,the temperature-responsive contact lenses exhibited distinct colorimetric variations in response to temperature changes within the physiological range(33-38℃).The maximum sensitivity of the thermochromic lens was 8%transmitted light per Celsius degree *** and morphological analysis indicated the adequacy of the contact ***,the multifunctional contact lenses can be deployed as smart wearables to manage ophthalmic deficiencies that are deterred by UV radiations and variations in ocular surface temperature.

Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy(CRRT)serves as an intervention strategy for the management of acute kidney injury(AKl)in critically ill ***,owing to its complex nature and the potential for com-plications,the implementation of CRRT demands continuous monitoring to prevent patient safety *** study aims to identify and validate prevalent risks linked to CRRT within a real-world clinical setting,intending to propose preventive measures grounded in expert *** systematically categorize and visually depict the risks,their consequences,preventive measures,and recovery controls,our study employed the Bowtie method in conjunction with the Systems Engineering Initiative for Patient Safety(SEIPS)*** addition to considering patient-related factors that exhibit variability among critically ill individuals,our key findings showed that the most influential risks impacting the effective delivery of CRRT are incidents of clotted filters,bleeding risks arising from the necessity of anticoagulation for filter efficacy,vascular catheter-related bloodstream infections,variations in proficiency levels among healthcare professionals regarding CRRT modalities,especially in oper-ating the CRRT machines,high nursing workload,frequent nursing turnover,occurrences of hypophosphatemia,variability in CRRT prescribing patterns,and issues related to communication among *** research sheds light on the primary risks associated with CRRT and provides practical and viable strategies for effective ***,the Bowtie diagram developed as part of this study serves as a valuable tool for visually representing the healthcare system and facilitating the identification of system-related risks within healthcare settings.

Bullying Among School Students in the uae Society

The purpose of this study is to research the bullying phenomenon among school students in the uae society. This is done through showing the extent of prevalence of bullying, the rate of recurrence of bullying incidences, the most widespread forms of bullying among school children in the Emirati society, and finally, the variation with regards to the prevalence and forms of bullying as related to the student’s gender. Therefore, this study aims to probe the prevalence of this phenomenon in schools, and the frequency of bullying cases as well as its forms. For this purpose, a questionnaire was designed and conducted on a sample size of 1,309 students of both genders. The data were later analyzed using descriptive statistical and analytical metrics that are appropriate for the variables’ measurement level, and which achieve the objectives of the study. The study found that a third of the students (33.3%) were involved in bullying incidents. Furthermore, it was found that 14.2% were the party causing the bullying incident, while 19.1% were the party upon which bullying was inflicted. The study also revealed that within school premises the places where bullying was most likely to occur are corridors, and the places which students felt were the least safe are the closed spaces. As for the forms of bullying students are subjected to, offensive name calling or insults came in first place, followed by cyber/online bullying. The young age and smaller size of a student were among the most important motivators for students to bully him/her. It was also found that 32.8% of students who are exposed to bullying respond in a similar manner. The study showed that most of the bullied students (78.4%) know the person doing the bullying, the females being more cognizant of the perpetrator bullying them. Moreover, 40.7% of the students believe that the teachers and other employees are aware of the bullying taking place, female students to a greater extent than males in this regard. In t

This paper presents a web-based system to predict the electricity *** proposed system captures the geographical location,weather forecast,and oil price for one week *** captured parameters are fed to a fuzzy-logic-based algorithm to calculate electric energy *** on predicted electricity prices,consumers can turn ON/OFF or reschedule operations of their home appliances to reduce their electricity *** proposed algorithm was developed and hosted in a utility server(U-server).On the consumer side,a home gateway(H-gateway),and a monitoring and control system was designed,built,and tested by using a single chip microcontroller.
