Introduction:Plague is a significant global infectious disease,its spread is linked to host and flea *** conditions can impact flea populations and host densities,hence influencing plague *** the connection between meteorological factors,flea populations,and rodent densities in Inner Mongolia’s natural plague foci can aid in predicting and managing plague ***:Monthly data on flea index,rodent density,meteorological factors,and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)were collected for the study *** additive modeling(GAM)was used to analyze the non-linear and lag effects of meteorological factors on flea index and rodent *** equation modeling(SEM)was employed to investigate the relationships among meteorological factors,NDVI,flea index,and rodent ***:GAM analysis revealed that temperature,precipitation,relative humidity,and NDVI had significant linear,non-linear,and time-lagged impacts on the density of Mongolian gerbils and the flea *** analysis indicated that meteorological factors could directly influence the density and flea index of Mongolian gerbils,or indirectly impact NDVI,subsequently influencing gerbil density and the flea ***:Meteorological factors primarily influence gerbil density and flea index indirectly by affecting NDVI and the relationship between flea index and gerbil *** study offers additional support for the significance of meteorological factors and NDVI in influencing the vector-rodent system,offering valuable insights for predicting and managing plague outbreaks.

Epidemiologically characteristics of human brucellosis and antimicrobial susceptibility pattern of Brucella melitensis in hinggan league of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,China

Background:hinggan league is located in the Northeast of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,the historically endemic area of animal and human *** this study,the epidemiological characteristics of human brucellosis were analyzed,and the genotypic profile and antimicrobial susceptibilities of Brucella melitensis strains isolated from humans in hinggan league were ***:The epidemic characteristics were described using case number,constituent ratio,and *** 418 human blood samples were collected and tested by bacteriology,and suspect colonies were isolated and identified by conventional biotyping assays,the VITEK 2.0 microbial identification system,and AMOS(Brucella abortus,***,***,and ***)-***,all strains were genotyped using multiple-locus variable-number tandem repeat analysis(MLVA)assays,and the antimicrobial susceptibility pattern of Brucella strains against the 10 most commonly used antibiotics was determined by microdilution ***:A total of 22848 cases of human brucellosis were reported from 2004 to 2019,with an annual average incidence of 87.2/*** incidence rates in developed areas of animal husbandry(Horqin Youyi Qianqi[161.2/100000]and Horqin Youyi Zhongqi[112.1/100000])were significantly higher than those in forest areas(Arxan[19.2/100000])(χ2=32.561,P<0.001).In addition,peak morbidity occurred during May–August,accounting for 72.6%(16582/22848)of *** highest number of cases occurred in the 40+age group,accounting for 44.4%(10137/22484)of cases,and morbidity in males was significantly higher than that in females in all age groups(χ2=299.97,P<0.001),the most common occupation was farmers.A total of 54 *** strains were divided into 37 genotypes(GT1–37)with 80–100%genetic *** 25 strains were sensitive to seven tested antibiotics,phenotypic resistance to cotrimoxazole and azithromycin was observed in 5(20%)and 25(100%)of the isolates,***:Hu

Epidemiological features of four human plague cases in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China in 2019

This study aims to investigate cases of human plague in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (IMAR), China, and to inform the development of plague prevention and control strategies. On 12th of November 2019, two herdsmen from Sunitezuo Banner, Xilingol league were diagnosed with pneumonic plague in Beijing, China. On November 16th, one resident of Xianghuang Banner, Xilingol league was diagnosed with bubonic plague in Huade County Hospital, Ulanqab, China. On 27th of November, one resident of Siziwang Banner was diagnosed with bubonic plague. In total, 78 close contacts were monitored over a period, but none of them developed symptoms. Plague outbreaks in animals had been reported in Sunitezuo Banner, Xianghuang Banner, and Siziwang Banner in 2019. Two of the four cases were related (husband and wife), but not the other two. All the cases may be associated with contact with rodents (hare) or infected fleas. The cases highlight the importance of early identification of plague cases in humans in order to stop further infection. This demonstrates the value of monitoring and ongoing vigilance on endemic diseases, the importance of updating medical training and raising public awareness about infectious diseases that even have not been observed over decades.

Influence of socioeconomic status on acute myocardial infarction in the Chinese population： the INTERHEART China study

Background Many researches report that low socioeconomic status （SES） is associated with a higher risk of coronary heart disease （CHD）. This study aimed to determine whether levels of education, family income, and other SES were associated with acute myocardial infarction （AMI） in the Chinese population, and to compare the difference in this association between northern and southern regions in China. Methods We conducted a case-control study. Cases were first AMI （n=2909）. controls （n=2947） were randomly selected and frequency matched to cases on age and sex. SES was measured using education, family income, possessions in the household, and occupation. Results Low levels of education （8 years） were more common in cases compared to controls （53.4% and 44.1%; P=0,0001）. After adjusting all risk factors, the level of education was associated with AMI risk in the Chinese population （P=-0.0005）. The odds ratio （OR） associated with education of 8 years or less, compared with more than 12 years （trade school/college/university） was 1.33 （95% CI 1.12-1.59）, and for education of 9-12 years 1.04 （95% CI 0.88-1.33）. The proportion of higher income population was more in controls than cases （39.4% and 35.3%）. Number of possessions and non-professional occupation were only weakly or not at all independently related to AMI. The adjusted OR associated with the lower education was 2.38 （95% CI 1.67-3.39） in women, and 1.18 （95% CI 0.99-1.42） in men （P=0.0001, for heterogeneity）. The interaction between levels of education and different regions was significant （P=0.0206, for interaction）. Conclusion Several socioeconomic factors including levels of education and income were closely associated with increase of AMI risk in China, most markedly in northeast and southern area. The effect of education was stronger towards AMI in women than men.

The global spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)requires an urgent need to find effective therapeutics for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).In this study,we developed an integrative drug repositioning framework,which fully takes advantage of machine learning and statistical analysis approaches to systematically integrate and mine large-scale knowledge graph,literature and transcriptome data to discover the potential drug candidates against *** in silico screening followed by wet-lab validation indicated that a poly-ADP-ribose polymerase 1(PARP1)inhibitor,CVL218,currently in Phase I clinical trial,may be repurposed to treat *** in vitro assays revealed that CVL218 can exhibit effective inhibitory activity against SARS-CoV-2 replication without obvious cytopathic *** addition,we showed that CVL218 can interact with the nucleocapsid(N)protein of SARS-CoV-2 and is able to suppress the LPS-induced production of several inflammatory cytokines that are highly relevant to the prevention of immunopathology induced by SARS-CoV-2 infection.
