Ant-nest-inspired porous structure for MXene composites with high-performance energy-storage and actuating multifunctions

Integrating energy-storage devices(supercapacitors)and shape-deformation devices(actuators)advances the miniaturization and multifunctional development of soft ***,soft robots necessitate supercapacitors with high energy-storage performance and actuators with excellent actuation ***,inspired by ant nests,we present a porous structure fabricated by MXene-graphene-methylcellulose(M-GMC)composite,which overcomes the self-stacking of MXene nanosheets and offers a larger specific surface *** porous structure provides more channels and active sites for electrolyte ions,resulting in high energy storage *** areal capacitance of the M-GMC electrode reaches up to 787.9 mF·cm^(−2),significantly superior to that of the pristine MXene electrode(449.1 mF·cm^(−2)).Moreover,the M-GMC/polyethylene bilayer composites with energy storage and multi-responsive actuation functions are *** M-GMC is used as the electrode and the polyethylene is used as the encapsulation layer of the quasi-solid-state ***,the actuators fabricated by the bilayer composites can be driven by light or low voltage(≤9 V).The maximum bending curvature is up to 5.11 cm^(−1).Finally,a smart gripper and a fully encapsulated smart integrated circuit based on the M-GMC/polyethylene are *** smart gripper enables programmable control with multi-stage *** applications realize the intelligence and miniaturization of soft *** ant-nest-inspired M-GMC composites would provide a promising development strategy for soft robots and smart integrated devices.

Nonreciprocal transport in the superconducting state of the chiral crystal NbGe_(2)

Due to the lack of inversion,mirror or other roto-inversion symmetries,chiral crystals possess a well-defined handedness which,when combined with time-reversal symmetry breaking from the application of magnetic fields,can give rise to directional dichroism of the electrical transport phenomena via the magnetochiral *** this study,we investigate the nonreciprocal magneto-transport in microdevices of NbGe_(2),a superconductor with structural chirality.A giant nonreciprocal signal from vortex motions is observed during the superconducting transition,with the ratio of nonreciprocal resistance to the normal resistanceγreaching 6×10^(5)T^(-1)·A^(-1).Interestingly,the intensity can be adjusted and even sign-reversed by varying the current,the temperature,and the crystalline *** findings illustrate intricate vortex dynamics and offer ways of manipulation on the rectification effect in superconductors with structural chirality.

Kagome magnets have attracted considerable research attention due to the interplay between topology,magnetism and electronic *** this study we report single-crystal synthesis of a series of the kagome ***_(6)Ge_(6)(R=Gd-Tm) that possess defect-free Cr kagome lattices and systematically study their magnetic and electrical transport *** transition from a canted ferrimagnetic to a paramagnetic state in GdCr_(6)Ge_(6),TbCr_(6)Ge_(6),DyCr_(6)Ge_(6),HoCr_(6)Ge_(6),ErCr_(6)Ge_(6) and TmCr_(6)Ge_(6) occurs at 11.3 K,10.8 K,4.3 K,2.5 K,3.3 K and below 2 K,respectively,due to R-R interactions within the *** measurements reveal highly anisotropic magnetism with canted magnetic moments in these *** electrical transport,both negative and positive magnetoresistances at different magnetic fields and temperatures have been observed due to the competition between different scattering *** work enriches our understanding of the Cr-based kagome magnets and paves the way to search for possible topological responses in this family.

Signature of Superconductivity in Pressurized La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(10)

The discovery of high-temperature superconductivity near 80K in bilayer nickelate La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7)under high pressures has renewed the exploration of superconducting nickelate in bulk *** extension of superconductivity in other nickelates in a broader family is also ***,we report the experimental observation of superconducting signature in trilayer nickelate La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(10)under high *** using a modified solgel method and post-annealing treatment under high oxygen pressure,we successfully obtained polycrystalline La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(10)samples with different transport behaviors at ambient *** we performed high-pressure electrical resistance measurements on these samples in a diamond-anvil-cell ***,the signature of possible superconducting transition with a maximum transition temperature(T_(c))of about 20K under high pressures is observed,as evidenced by a clear drop of resistance and the suppression of resistance drops under magnetic *** the resistance drop is sample-dependent and relatively small,it appears in all of our measured *** argue that the observed superconducting signal is most likely to originate from the main phase of La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(10).Our findings will motivate the exploration of superconductivity in a broader family of nickelates and shed light on the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of high-T_(c) superconductivity in nickelates.

Pressure-induced magnetic phase and structural transition in SmSb2

Motivated by the recent discovery of unconventional superconductivity around a magnetic quantum critical point in pressurized CeSb2,here we present a high-pressure study of an isostructural antiferromagnetic（AFM） SmSb2through electrical transport and synchrotron x-ray diffraction *** PC～2.5 GPa,we found a pressure-induced magnetic phase transition accompanied by a Cmca→P4/nmm structural phase *** the pristine AFM phase below PC,the AFM transition temperature of SmSb2is insensitive to pressure;in the emergent magnetic phase above PC,however,the magnetic critical temperature increases rapidly with increasing *** addition,at ambient pressure,the magnetoresistivity（MR） of SmSb2increases suddenly upon cooling below the AFM transition temperature and presents linear nonsaturating behavior under high field at 2 *** increasing pressure above PC,the MR behavior remains similar to that observed at ambient pressure,both in terms of temperature-and field-dependent *** leads us to argue an AFM-like state for SmSb2above *** the investigated pressure of up to 45.3 GPa and the temperature of down to 1.8 K,we found no signature of superconductivity in SmSb2.

Ferromagnetism and insulating behavior with a logarithmic temperature dependence of resistivity in Pb_(10-x)Cux(PO_(4))_(6)O

Recent claim of discovering above-room-temperature superconductivity(Tc≈400 K)at ambient pressure in copper doped apatite Pb10(PO_(4))_(6)O has stimulated world-wide enthusiasm and impulse of motion.A lot of follow-up works have been carried out with controversial *** check whether superconductivity is really present or absent in the material,we need samples which should have a rather pure phase of Pb_(10-x)Cux(PO_(4))_(6)*** we report the characterization results from the Pb_(10-x)Cux(PO_(4))_(6)O with a fraction of about 97 wt.%inferred from the fitting to the X-ray diffraction pattern,if assuming Cu2S as the only *** resistivity measurements show that it is a semiconductor characterized roughly by a ln(1/T)temperature dependence in wide temperature region without trace of *** measurements show that it has a general ferromagnetic signal with a weak superparamagnetic *** grains of the sample show clear interactions with a Nb Fe B *** detected Cu concentration is much lower than the expected nominal *** results show the absence of metallicity and superconductivity in Pb_(10-x)Cux(PO_(4))_(6)O at ambient pressure,and suggest the presence of strong correlation effect.

Macro-fiber composite actuators(MFCAs)suffer from strict restrictions on the utilization of lead-containing precursors due to growing environmental *** address this issue,a novel lead-free MFCA based on potassium sodium niobate piezoceramics has been developed using the dice&fill *** MFCA demonstrates large electric field-induced displacement(31.4μm over-500-1500 V at 0.5 Hz),excellent frequency stability,and a strong linear relationship between the induced displacement and the external voltage ***,unlike lead-based MFCA that requires superposition of a negative dc bias voltage to pursue higher output performance but risks depolarization,lead-free MFCA can achieve larger displacement by superimposing only a positive bias *** device exhibits excellent reliability,maintaining a stable output over 10^(5) electrical ***,a“back-to-back”coupled MFCA has been developed to regulate bidirectional displacement,making it suitable for various practical applications,including active vibration *** approach has resulted in a 90%vibration reduction and provides new insights into the design of MFCAs,further facilitating their application in active vibration control systems.

Transition metal nitrides(TMNs)are considered as viable alternatives to noble metal catalysts owing to their versatile electronic structure and favorable catalytic ***,the conventional synthetic processes for TMNs suffer from high energy consumption and low production *** this study,a range of TMNs and their hetero-composite arrays were successfully synthesized via an ultrafast flash Joule heating technology within 0.5 *** a proof concept,the nitrides and hetero-composites were applied for the electrocatalytic hydrazine oxidation reaction(HzOR),in which the Co_(4)N/Mo_(16)N_(7)arrays shows the best performance with a geometric current density of 100 mA cm^(-2)at 23 mV(*** hydrogen electrode(RHE)).This work paves a new way for the ultrafast synthesis of TMNs which could meet the ever-increased energy crisis.

Enhanced Grain Refining Effect of Mg–Zr Master Alloy on Magnesium Alloys via a Synergistic Strategy Involving Heterogeneous Nucleation and Solute‑Driven Growth Restriction

Zirconium(Zr)emerges as the most effective grain refiner for magnesium(Mg)alloys incorporating ***,Zr is introduced in the form of an Mg–Zr master ***,within Mg–Zr master alloys,Zr predominantly exists in a particle form,which tends to aggregate due to attractive van der Waals *** clustered Zr is prone to settling,thereby reducing its refining impact on Mg *** this work,a combined pretreatment process for Mg–Zr master alloys was proposed,encompassing the introduction of a physical field to intervene the agglomeration of particle Zr and the employ of high-temperature dissolution and peritectic reactions to promote the solid solution of *** results demonstrate that the particle Zr within the pretreated Mg–Zr master alloy is effectively dispersed and refined,and greater solute Zr levels can be *** subsequent grain refinement ability was studied on a typical Mg–6Zn–0.6Zr(wt%)*** outcome highlights that an improvement in the grain refinement efficacy(32.4%)of Mg–Zr master alloys was obtained with a holding time of 60 *** pretreated Mg–Zr master alloy significantly augments the efficiency of grain refinement for Mg alloys through a synergistic strategy involving heterogeneous nucleation and solute-driven growth *** crucial factor in achieving effective grain refinement of Zr in Mg alloys lies in regulating the presence and morphology of Zr in the Mg–Zr master alloy,distinguishing between particle Zr and solute *** study introduces a novel method for developing more efficient Mg–Zr refiners.

Observation of Giant Topological Hall Effect in Room-Temperature Ferromagnet Cr_(0.82)Te

Novel magnetic materials with non-trivial magnetic structures have led to exotic magnetic transport properties and significantly promoted the development of spintronics in recent *** them is the Crx Tey family,the magnetism of which can persist above room temperature,thus providing an ideal system for potential spintronic *** we report the synthesis of a new compound,Cr_(0.82)Te,which demonstrates a record-high topological Hall effect at room temperature in this ***_(0.82)Te displays soft ferromagnetism below the Curie temperature of 340 *** magnetic measurement shows an obvious magneto-crystalline anisotropy with the easy axis located in the ab *** anomalous Hall effect can be well explained by a dominating skew scattering ***,after removing the normal Hall effect and anomalous Hall effect,a topological Hall effect can be observed up to 300 K and reaches up to 1.14μΩ·cm at 10 K,which is superior to most topological magnetic structural *** giant topological Hall effect possibly originates from the noncoplanar spin configuration during the spin flop *** work extends a new Cr_(x)Te_(y) system with topological non-trivial magnetic structure and broad prospects for spintronics applications in the future.
