Microwave ablation(MWA)is emerging as a highly effective treatment for colorectal liver metastases(CRLMs).This review explores the advantages of MWA compared to other ablative techniques such as radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation and highlights its clinical efficacy,safety,and technical *** offers significant benefits,including higher intratumoral temperatures,larger ablation zones,and reduced susceptibility to the heat-sink effect,which make it particularly suitable for tumors near large blood *** review details the patient selection criteria,procedural approaches,and the use of advanced imaging techniques to improve the precision and effectiveness of *** outcomes indicate that MWA achieves high rates of complete tumor ablation and long-term survival with a favorable safety *** review is significant because it provides updated insights into the expanding role of MWA in treating unresectable CRLM and its potential as an alternative to surgical resection for resectable *** summarizing recent studies and clinical trials,this review highlights the comparative effectiveness,safety,and integration with systemic therapies of *** conclusion,MWA is a promising treatment option for CRLM and offers outcomes comparable to or better than those of other ablative *** research should focus on optimizing technical parameters,integrating MWA with systemic therapies,and conducting large-scale randomized controlled trials to establish standardized treatment *** our understanding of MWA will enhance its application and improve long-term survival and quality of life for patients with CRLM.

BACKGROUND In recent years,the use of ultrafine choledochoscopy has gradually increased in the treatment of ***,stone incarceration and residual spasm of the sphincter of Oddi may be inevitable when an ultrafine choledochoscope is used *** To investigate the safety and feasibility of ultrafine choledochoscopy combined with low-dose atropine in the treatment of Oddi intersphincter *** Seventeen patients with Oddi intersphincter stones were retrospectively *** perioperative clinical data and follow-up information were *** Among the 17 patients,3 were male and 14 were *** mean age was 40.6±13.9 years,and the mean diameter of the common bile duct was 7.8±1.3 *** patients successfully underwent Oddi intersphincter stone removal using a combination of ultrafine choledochoscopy and low-dose *** serious complications,such as postoperative hemorrhage,pancreatitis or bile leakage occurred in the 17 *** the one-year follow-up,none of the patients experienced stone *** Ultrafine choledochoscopy combined with low-dose atropine is safe and feasible for the treatment of Oddi intersphincter stones.

Extracorporeal liver surgery(ELS), also known as liver autotransplantation, is a hybrid(cross-fertilized) surgery incorporating the technical knowledge from extreme liver and transplant liver surgeries, and recently became more embraced and popularized among leading centers. ELS could be summarized into three major categories, namely, ex-situ liver resection and autotransplantation(ELRA), ante-situm liver resection and autotransplantation(ALRA) and auxiliary partial liver autotransplantation(APLA). The successful development of ELS during the past 37 years is definitely inseparable from continuous effort s done by Chinese surgeons and researchers. Especially, the precision liver surgery paradigm has allowed to transform ELS into a modularized, more simplified, and standardized surgery, to upgrade surgical skills, to improve peri-operative outcome and long-term survival, to increase the capability of surgeons to select more complex diseases and to expand the level of medical service to the population. This review highlights the Chinese contributions to the field of ELS, focusing thereby on features of different surgical types, technical innovations, disease selection and surgical indication, patient prognosis and future perspectives.

Analysis of risk factors for bile leakage after laparoscopic exploration and primary suture of common bile duct

BACKGROUND Bile leakage is a common complication following laparoscopic common bile duct exploration(LCBDE)with primary duct closure(PDC).Identifying and analyzing the risk factors associated with bile leakage is crucial for improving surgical *** To explore the value analysis of common risk factors for bile leakage after LCBDE and PDC,with a focus on strict adherence to *** Clinical data of 106 cases undergoing LCBDE+PDC in the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgery department(Division 1)of Chuzhou First People’s Hospital from April 2019 to March 2024 were *** and multiple factor regression analysis were conducted on common risk factors for bile *** change in surgical time was analyzed using the cumulative summation(CUSUM)method,and the minimum number of cases required to complete the learning curve for PDC was obtained based on the proposed fitting curve by identifying the CUSUM maximum *** Multifactor logistic regression analysis showed that fibrinous inflammation and direct bilirubin/indirect bilirubin were significant independent high-risk factors for postoperative bile leakage(P<0.05).The time to drain removal and length of hospital stay in cases without bile leakage were significantly shorter than in cases with bile leakage(P<0.05),with statistical *** CUSUM method indicated that a minimum of 51 cases were required for the surgeon to complete the learning curve(P=0.023).CONCLUSION With a good assessment of duodenal papilla sphincter function,unobstructed bile-pancreatic duct convergence,exact stone clearance,and sufficient surgical experience to complete the learning curve,PDC remains the preferred method for bile duct closure and is worthy of clinical promotion.

Prognostic value of inflammatory markers in predicting recurrencefree survival in gastrointestinal stromal tumor patients:A nomogram-based approach

lncRNA SNHG4 enhanced gastric cancer progression by modulating miR-409-3p/CREB1 axis

Enhancing angiogenesis and osseointegration through a double gyroid Ti6Al4V scaffold with triply periodic minimal surface
