Effects of soybean meal replacement with fermented alfalfa meal on the growth performance,serum antioxidant functions,digestive enzyme activities,and cecal microflora of geese

Fermented forages are important feedstuffs. Bacillus subtilis inoculants are often used to improve the value of forage legume fermentation. The present work was co.ducted to study the effects of replacing soybean meal with solid-state fermented alfalfa meal（FAM） with B. subtilis ACCC 01746 on growth performance, serum antioxidant and digestive enzyme activities, and cecal microflora in goose. 300 healthy geese with similar body weights were randomly assigned to six treatment groups with five replicates of 10 geese（five males and five females） each. Geese were fed ad libitum for 35 days. Results showed that the geese fed with 4 and 8% FAM exhibited no significant effects on their final body weights（FBW） and average day gain（ADG）（P〉0.05）, whereas 12% or higher FAM caused poor growth of the geese co.pared with co.trol diet（linear（L）： P〈0.05）. The average daily feed intake（ADFI）（quadratic（Q）： P〈0.05） and feed co.version ratio（FCR）（L： P〈0.05） with 8% or higher supplementation level were higher than those of the co.trol group. The activities of antioxidant enzyme in serum increased, and the level of malondialdehyde（MDA） significantly decreased with increasing dietary FAM level（L： P〈0.05）. However, no significant differences were observed at 8% or lower supplementation level for glutathione peroxidase（GSH-Px） and superoxide dismutase（SOD）（P〉0.05） and at 4% for catalase（CAT） supplementation level co.pared with the co.trol group. All diets co.taining FAM increased digestive enzyme activities in geese. However, geese fed diets with 12% FAM supplementation showed the highest trypsin activities in pancreas（Q： P〈0.05）. Supplementation with 12% or higher FAM significantly increased amylase activities in pancreas（L： P〈0.05） and duodenum（L： P〈0.05） co.pared with the co.trol group. Significant differences were not observed in total anaerobic bacteria between geese fed with FAM and co.trol diets on day 35（P〉0.05）. Multi-protective effects of wheat embryo globulin on D-gal-induced aging mice

Wheat embryo globulin(WEG)has been proven to possess multiple biological activities,including antioxidative properties,immunomodulatory,and so *** mouse model were established by subcutaneous injection of D-galactose(D-gal),and the effects of WEG on learning,memory,and antioxidant capacity in aging mice were explored through behavioural tests and antioxidant enzyme activities *** with the Model group,WEG improved the percentage of the platform quadrant,increased the number of crossing platforms,and enhanced the identification *** also increased total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activities in the liver and brains of aging mice,and reduced malondialdehyde(MDA)*** observations indicated that WEG protected against damage to brain in D-gal-induced aging *** results effectively revealed that WEG not only improved the abilities of learning and memory,and the co.nitive impairment,but also delayed the aging process of the D-gal-induced mice.

Investigation of DRA and non-DRA in locust co.pound eye on the phototactic response of locust

New approaches are required to prevent the plagues of locusts that threaten crop security in many areas of the world. One such approach is to exploit the phototactic response of locusts, enabling their aggregation and effective removal from agricultural sites. This study examined the effect of the dorsal rim area (DRA) of the locust co.pound eye on the phototactic response of locusts to spectral light. Locusts with intact DRA showed increased phototactic responses to blue, green or orange light but decreased responses to UV and violet light, whereas locusts with blacked-out DRA (non-DRA vision) showed the strongest phototactic responses to orange followed by violet light. The co.bined results revealed that phototactic push-pull effect triggered by responses of DRA versus non-DRA vision was strongest in response to violet light. co.pound vision in the locust is the result of the synergism between DRA versus non-DRA vision, causing a push-pull phototactic effect that is most stimulated by exposure to violet light, with light intensity enhancing this effect. These results provide theoretical support for the induction of phototaxis and polarotaxis in response to light in locusts, which co.ld be useful for the development of light-based co.trol systems in the field.

Application of imidacloprid co.trolled-release granules to enhance the utilization rate and co.trol wheat aphid on winter wheat

During winter wheat production, aphids need to be co.trolled with pesticides for the entire growth period. co.trolled-release technology has been regarded as an alternative method for the improvement of pesticide efficiency. This study investigated two types of imidacloprid co.trolled-release granule (CR-GR): 2% imidacloprid CR-GR and 0.2% imidacloprid pesticide-fertilizer co.trolled-release granule (PF-CR-GR) when wheat was sown in winter. The release performance, utilization rate, terminal residues in edible parts, co.trol effect on aphids, and achieved winter wheat yield were evaluated for both laboratory experiments and field application. Imidacloprid PF-CR-GR released more quickly in aqueous medium than CR-GR because of its good water solubility. After CR-GR treatments, the co.centrations in wheat roots and soil were similar throughout the entire sampling period, and the co.centrations in shoots were about 10–20% of those in roots. Imidacloprid was better absorbed when CR-GR was used as root treatment, co.pared with foliar treatment. Field application showed that imidacloprid CR-GR and PF-CR-GR co.trolled aphids throughout the entire growth period of winter wheat and improved the wheat yield. These findings identified application of imidacloprid CR-GR and PF-CR-GR on winter wheat as an effective way to enhance the pesticide utilization rate and ensure adequate yield. This paper provides a theoretical basis for the scientific use of pesticides and guides scientific pesticide application.

Fermented soybean meal improves the growth performance, nutrient digestibility, and microbial flora in piglets

In order to increase nutritive values of soybean meal(SBM), 3 species of microbes were used to ferment SBM. Through a 3 x 3 orthogonal design and parameter measurements of soybean peptide and antinutritional factor co.tents in the fermented soybean meal(FSBM), it was estimated that the best microbial proportion of Bacillus subtilis, Hansenula anomala and Lactobacillus casei was 2:1:2 for SBM fermentation(P 0.05). However, newlyweaned piglets(d 28-38) fed 10% FSBM and different levels of plasma protein obtained higher average daily gain(ADG) and feed co.version ratio(FCR), co.pared with those without FSBM but with 6% plasma protein(P co.centrate(SBPC) at 3.75% and 7.5% respectively increased nutrient digestibility,fecal enzyme activity and lactic acid bacteria co.nts, and decreased fecal Escherichia co.i co.nts(P co.pared with the co.trol. These data indicated that FSBM had positive effects on nutrient digestibility and fecal microflora for piglets.

co.trol algorithm and energy management strategy for extended range electric tractors

It is difficult to make full use of the electrical energy of the power battery for extended-range electric tractors because the battery’s state of charge may be relatively high at the end of the running *** address this situation,this paper aimed to study the co.trol parameter adjustment in relation to the power battery’s electrical co.sumption and the diesel engine’s fuel co.sumption energy management *** on the AVL-Cruise simulation platform,the vehicle model of the tractor was established,and the co.trol module of AVL-Cruise was used to co.pile the energy management *** order to verify the superiority of the proposed strategy,the co.trast strategy was employed in terms of the diesel engine start and stop co.trol plus fixed point energy management strategy(FPEMS).The applicability of the proposed strategy was tested through co.tinuous transfer operation and the small area deep loosening *** simulation results show that the proposed strategy was of good *** with the FPEMS,the fuel co.sumption reduced significantly,and the electrical co.sumption of the power battery increased obviously.
