Catalytic oxidation of toluene by manganese oxides:Effect of K^(+)doping on oxygen vacancy

Alkali metal potassium was beneficial to the electronic regulation and structural stability of transition metal ***,K ions were introduced into manganese oxides by different methods to improve the degradation efficiency of *** results of activity experiments indicated that KMnO_(4)-HT(HT:Hydrothermal method)exhibited outstanding low-temperature catalytic activity,and 90%conversion of toluene can be achieved at 243℃,which was 41℃and 43℃lower than that of KNO_(3)-HT and Mn-HT,*** largest specific surface area was observed on KMnO_(4)-HT,facilitating the adsorption of *** formation of cryptomelane structure over KMnO_(4)-HT could contribute to higher content of Mn^(3+)and lattice oxygen(Olatt),excellent low-temperature reducibility,and high oxygen mobility,which could increase the catalytic ***,two distinct degradation pathways were ***Ⅰ(KMnO_(4)-HT):toluene→benzyl→benzoic acid→carbonate→CO_(2)and H2O;PathwayⅡ(Mn-HT):toluene→benzyl alcohol→benzoic acid→phenol→maleic anhydride→CO_(2)and *** intermediates were detected on KMnO_(4)-HT,indicating its stronger oxidation capacity of toluene,which was originated from the doping of K^(+)and the interaction between *** intermediates were observed on Mn-HT,which can be attributed to the weaker oxidation ability of pure *** results indicated that the doping of K^(+)can improve the catalytic oxidation capacity of toluene,resulting in promoted degradation of intermediates during the oxidation of toluene.

UiO-66 series metal-organic framework materials(MOFs)are typical porous materials assembled by Zr^(4+) with a large mass-to-nucleus ratio and terephthalic acid ligands,which form tetrahedral and octahedral cages arranged in a periodic triangular window *** to the strong interaction between Zr and O,UiO-66 series MOFs exhibit high thermal stability,structural stability,and chemical *** article mainly reviews the applications of UiO-66 and its composites in adsorption,photocatalysis,and resource utilization,while exploring the harm of pollutants to human health and the *** the first part,the differences in adsorption and removal mechanisms of liquid organic pollutants,heavy metals,and volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are *** results show that organic pollutants are mainly removed by physical adsorption,electrostatic interactions,hydrogen bonding,andπ-πinteractions,while heavy metals are mainly removed by chemical adsorption,electrostatic interactions,reduction,and *** are mainly removed by the pore volume and pore size structure of the *** catalysis can achieve non-toxic treatment of pollutants,and this study mainly focuses on UiO-based composite materials constructed by strategies such as semiconductor composites,ion doping,and metal/dye *** the second part,the synergistic effect between the components of UiO-based composite materials promotes the oriented and rapid separation and transfer of earriers at the material interface,thereby promoting the generation of active species such as h^(+),·O_(2)^(-) and·OH,and achieving rapid degradation of pollutants and detoxification of heavy *** the third part,heterojunctions can realize the resource utilization of pollutants in water and air,producing energy-type substances such as hydrogen and methanol while solving environmental *** addition,this article also summarizes the harm of common typical pollutants to the environment

A flexible model-free tram signal priority method with a large coordination scope in China

Tram systems with the advantages of reliable operation,comfort,low emissions and moderate capacity have been quite popular in recent years in ***,there are still problems with tram signal control(*** model,signal control strategies).In-depth analysis on existing operational issues of trams,calculation of two evaluation indexes,as well as a flexible model-free tram signal priority method were developed to deal with tram *** research in Songjiang District,Shanghai shows that:(1)The function of the green extension strategy is limited with c.a.10%tram priority improvement,while the optimal one can reach to 85%higher on average.(2)A scheme with a benefit for trams and with no negative impact,and even benefits,for general traffic can be realized.(3)The optimal solution is beneficial for intersections with a maximum c.a.70%amelioration with delay decreasing from 132.7 s/vehicle to 40.89 s/vehicle,or from 104.77 s/capita to 22.31 s/*** paper has great significance for the signal optimization and safety of tram systems,even the development of a comprehensive transportation system for a city.

Influence of surface acidity and chemical valence on low temperature activity over Pt-HSiW/CeO_(2) for catalytic combustion of chlorobenzene

Pt-HSiW/CeO_(2) catalysts were prepared for chlorobenzene(CB) catalytic combustion by hydrothermal method at different calcination temperatures,and the effects of the surface acidity and chemical valence on the catalytic activity were *** results show that the catalyst calcined at 450℃(Cat-B)exhibits the outstanding catalytic performance,and the Cat-B catalyst possesses 90% conversion of CB at148℃.The excellent catalytic activity of Cat-B is attributed to more Ce^(3+)/(Ce^(3+)+Ce^(4+)),Pt~0/(Pt^(0)+Pt^(2+)),O_(ads)/(O_(latt)+O_(ads)) and Lewis acid *** degradation mechanism is proposed based on the analysis of the intermediates with the following reaction pathway:chlorobenzene→phenates/benzoquinone→acetate→maleate→CO_(2)+H_(2)O.

The seismic performance of rubber concrete-layered periodic foundations are significantly influenced by their design,in which the band gaps play a paramount *** at providing better designs for these foundations,this study first proposes and validates the analytical formulas to approximate the bounds of the first few band *** addition,the mapping relations linking the frequencies of different band gaps are ***,an optimal design method for these foundations is developed,which is validated through an engineering *** is demonstrated that ensuring the superstructure’s resonance zones are completely covered by the corresponding periodic foundation’s band gaps can achieve satisfactory vibration attenuation effects,which is a good strategy for the design of rubber concrete layered periodic foundations.

Zokor activity promotes soil water infiltration in the Mu Us sandy land of northern Shaanxi,China

Zokors are common subterranean rodents that inhabit agricultural fields, shrublands, and grasslands in the arid and semi-arid regions of China. Zokor burrowing activities can alter soil structure and affect soil hydrological processes;however, there are few studies regarding their effects on soil preferential flow in the Mu Us sandy land. An evaluation of the effects of zokor disturbance on their habitat and soil water is important for understanding the ecological role of zokors in the soil ecosystem of the Mu Us sandy land. A field dye-tracing experiment was conducted in the Gechougou watershed on the southeastern edge of the Mu Us sandy land to investigate the effect of zokor burrowing activity on soil preferential flow characteristics. Our results showed that the density of zokor tunnels was the highest(0.40–0.46 m m^(-2)) under 30%–50% vegetation coverage and that the tunnels were approximately 3 cm from the *** stained area ratio and stained path number were higher at sites with zokors than without zokors. Stained path widths were 10–80 and > 80 mm at zokor-harboring sites exhibiting homogeneous flow and heterogeneous finger flow, respectively. In the absence of zokors, homogeneous flow and highly interacted macropore flow were predominant. Soil water content below the zokor tunnels was higher than that above the tunnels. Moderate disturbance of soil structure by zokor activity facilitated soil water infiltration. These results enabled a better understanding of the effect of soil fauna on soil structure and hydrological processes and provided recommendations for ecological construction and renovation in arid and semi-arid regions.

Dredged marine soil stabilization using magnesia cement augmented with biochar/slag

Dredged marine soils(DMS)have poor engineering properties,which limit their usage in construction *** research examines the application of reactive magnesia(rMgO)containing supplementary cementitious materials(SCMs)to stabilize DMS under ambient and carbon dioxide(CO_(2))curing *** proprietary experimental tests were conducted to investigate the stabilized ***,the carbonation-induced mineralogical,thermal,and microstructural properties change of the samples were *** findings show that the compressive strength of the stabilized DMS fulfilled the 7-d requirement(0.7-2.1 MPa)for pavement and building *** rMgO with SCMs such as biochar or ground granulated blast-furnace slag(GGBS)altered the engineering properties and particle packing of the stabilized soils,thus influencing their *** increased the porosity of the samples,facilitating higher CO_(2) uptake and improved ductility,while GGBS decreased porosity and increased the dry density of the samples,resulting in higher *** addition of SCMs also enhanced the water retention capacity and modified the pH of the *** analysis revealed that the hydrated magnesium carbonates precipitated in the carbonated samples provided better cementation effects than brucite formed during rMgO ***,incorporating SCMs reduced the overall global warming potential and energy demand of the rMgO-based *** biochar mixes demonstrated lower toxicity and energy ***,the rMgO and biochar blend can serve as an environmentally friendly additive for soft soil stabilization and permanent fixation of significant amounts of CO_(2) in soils through mineral carbonation,potentially reducing environmental pollution while meeting urbanization needs.

Post-disaster reconstruction is a topic of global concern,and traditional villages have special heritage attributes and need to face more requirements and obstacles in post-disaster *** paper summarizes four concepts based on the research on post-disaster reconstruction both domestically and internationally,as well as the recovery and reconstruction of cultural *** a field survey of traditional villages in the Ms 6.8 Luding earthquake-stricken area,it is found that there are problems such as insufficient awareness of heritage value,misalignment of scientific reconstruction technology,and insufficient protection of reconstruction elements during the reconstruction *** villages face the risk of declining or even loss of heritage *** order to effectively protect traditional villages and inherit the carrier of regional culture,four targeted reconstruction response strategies are proposed,i.e.,to"establish special planning for traditional village preservation","emphasize recovery of the authenticity of village heritage","ensure elements for village heritage recovery"and"promote the activation and utilization of village heritage",based on the problems discovered during the survey and the four concepts summarized in the research on post-disaster reconstruction of traditional *** research results hope to provide useful reference for ancient cultural areas affected by earthquakes on how to protect cultural heritage during the post-disaster reconstruction process.

Enhancing wood efficiency through comprehensive wood flow analysis:Methodology and strategic insights

The micaceous weathered granitic soil(WGS)is frequently encountered in civil engineering worldwide,unfortunately little information is available regarding how mica affects the physico-mechanical behaviors of *** study prepares reconstituted WGS with different mica contents by removing natural mica in theWGS,and then mixes it with commercial mica *** geotechnical behavior as well as the microstructures of the mixtures are *** addition of mica enables the physical indices of WGS to be specific combinations of coarser gradation and high permeability but high Atterberg ***,high mica content in WGS was found to be associated with undesirable mechanical properties,including increased compressibility,disintegration,and swelling potential,as well as poor compactability and low effective frictional *** analysis indicates that the influence of mica on the responses of mixtures originates from the intrinsic nature of mica as well as the particle packing being formed *** exists in the mixture as stacks of plates that form a spongy structure with high compressibility and swelling *** among the plates give the soil high water retention and high Atterberg *** pores are also generated by soil particles with bridging packing,which enhances the permeability and water-soil interactions upon *** study provides a microlevel understanding of how mica dominates the behavior of WGS and provides new insights into the effective stabilization and improvement of micaceous soils.
