Electromagnetic continuous casting by imposing multi-electromagnetic field

In order to obtain cast metal of high quality, an investigation was carried out by simultaneous imposition of multi electromagnetic fields from the outside of a cold crucible copper mold. Sn 4.5%Pb as a simulator of high melting point metal was continuously cast under different conditions. The results show that multi electromagnetic fields can eliminate surface defects, and coarse columnar grains of the solidification structure is turned into equiaxed crystal with the increase of magnetic flux density. Moreover, finer equiaxed crystal structure is obtained when rapidly solidified sheet is fed into the mold during continuous casting.[

A rapidly solidified Al-Si-Fe-Cu-Mg alloy was prepared by spray deposition. The microstructure of the alloy includes silicon phase and delta -(Al,Fe,Si), Al//8Si//6Mg//3Fe, FeAl//2 and small FeSi//2 phases. The reasons of the formation of silicon and delta -(Al,Fe,Si) phase were analyzed. The tensile properties at the room temperature to 350 degree C were investigated, and the strengthening mechanism was suggested. The wear resistance and cutability of the alloy were measured as well. Mesoporous （Ga1-xZnx）（N1-xOx） hexagonal nanoplates were prepared by nitridation of layered double hydrox- ides （LDHs） containing Zn2＋ and Ga3＋ ions with different [Zn]/[Ga] ratios. Their specific surface areas ranged from 21.25 to 50.95 m2/g were much higher than those previously reported. The （Ga1-xZnx）（N1-xOx） showed broad visible light absorption and reduced band gaps with increasing Zn content. When [Zn]/[Ga]=2, the （Ga1-xZnx）（N1-xOx） absorbed strongly the light of wavelength less than 525 nm and showed the highest visible light driven 142 production efficiency. After totally repeated runs for 30 h, the H2-production activity of （Ga1-xZnx）（N1-xOx） did not fall off, indicating its good photochemical stability and photocatalytic activity for long time. Herein, the results pro- vide new insights into （Ga1-xZnx）（N1-xOx） as high performance photocatalyst and their potential application in visi- ble-light driven water splitting H2 production.

H13 steel was nitrided using a plasma surface alloying technique at the temperature of 570℃.The nitrided layers with different thicknesses and components were obtained by changing nitriding *** microstructure and composition of the nitrided layers were evaluated by optical microscopy(OM)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The wear properties of the nitrided layer against Al2O3 ball at room temperature using a ball-on-disc tribometer and against Si3N4 ball at elevated temperature using a HT-2001 abrasive wear test machine were *** results show that the nitrided layers are composed of compound layer and diffusion layer at the pressure of 100 and 450 *** obvious compound layer appears at pressure of 200 and 300 *** analysis shows the nitrided layers are mainly composed ofε-Fe2-3N,γ'-Fe4N,α-Fe,Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 *** surface hardness of plasma nitrided H13 steel is about 1100HV0.050 doubled that of *** room temperature friction coefficient of H13 steel is reduced and wear rate is decreased by nitriding at 200 and 300 *** temperature wear test indicates the nitrided H13 steel at the pressure of 100 Pa shows lower friction coefficient and wear rate which are reduced more than 6 times compared with that of H13 substrate.

The dynamic stress intensity factor of a three-dimensionalelliptic crack under impact loading is determined with the finiteelement method. The computation results can take into account theinfluence of time and the ratio of the wave speeds on the stressintensity factor. The present method is suitable not only forthree-dimensional dynamic crack, but also for three-dimensionaldynamic contact.

The influences of multiple plastic deformations on microstructure and mechanical properties of 7A04-T6 alloy by isothermal compression experiments in different passes deformation on the 6300 kN extrusion press. The experimental results showed that the strength and elongation of 7A04-T6 alloy were increased firstly and then decreased as the deformation pass increases at above 400 ℃. The grains of 7A04-T6 alloy was refined firstly and then grow, the grain was become refinement after four deformations under this experimental conditions. The second phase η (MgZn2) in the matrix would precipitate after solution, precipitation strengthening taking place. It is obvious that the number of second phase which dissolve into the matrix will increase as the deformation pass increasing. So the tensile strength reached the highest after four deformations, is 590.9 MPa, yield strength is 532.5 MPa, and elongation is 12.4%. After four deformations of 7A04-T6 alloy, tensile fracture surface of samples was composed of the deep and uniform dimples, belonging to ductile fracture. Therefore, 7A04-T6 alloy has better comprehensive mechanical properties after four deformations.

Based on the phenomenon of brittle fracture occurred during tensile test for 20Mn2A high strength circular chain used in coal mines,the fracture property is regarded as intercrystalline brittle one after macroscope observation and metallographic *** is analysed that the intercrystalline brittle fracture is due to high tempering temperature and limited processing site where final products are piled together after heat treatment,which lead to a lower cooling rate of internal chain,with Si,Mn and P etc elements segregating and enriching in the austenite grain boundary and forming high tempering *** these circular chains are tempered again for one hour at 670℃,and oil-cooled rapidly,due to the reversibility of high temper brittleness for structural alloy steel,the high temper brittleness can be eliminated and products are completely qualified after tensile inspection.
