Background:Patients carrying the HongKongαα(HKαα)allele and-α3.7/αααanti-4.2 could be misdiagnosed as-α3.7/ααby the current conventional thalassemia detection methods,leading to inaccurate genetic counseling and an incorrect prenatal *** study was aimed to accurately analyze the genotypes of HKααcarriers and-α3.7/ααα***::Samples were collected in our hospital from July 2017 to October ***-four common types of Chinese thalassemia were screened by gap-polymerase chain reaction(Gap-PCR)and reverse dot blot(RDB).Anti-4.2 multiplex-PCR was used to confirm carriers of theαααanti-4.2 duplication with-α3.7 ***-round nested PCR and multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification(MLPA)were applied to accurately identify and confirm their *** data analysis,we used descriptive statistics and Fisher’s exact ***::Two thousand five hundred and forty-four cases were identified as thalassemia in 5488 peripheral blood *** results showed thatα,β,andαβcompound thalassemia were identified in 1190(46.78%),1286(50.55%),and 68(2.67%)cases,respectively.A total of 227 samples from thalassemia patients were identified as-α3.7/ααby Gap-PCR,and the genotypes of two samples were *** was a difference between Gap-PCR and combined groups(Gap-PCR combined with nested PCR and MLPA)in detecting HKαα(P<0.05).Among the 229 patients,20 patients were identified as HKααcarriers and one was identified as-α3.7/ααα anti-4.2 by two-round nested PCR and MLPA,including 15 patients with HKαα/αα,three with HKαα/αα and β-thalassemia coinheritance,one with HKαα/-SEA,one with HKαα/-α4.2 andβ-thalassemia coinheritance,and one with-α3.7/αααanti-4.2 and β-thalassemia ***::αααanti-4.2 and HKααgenotypes of patients carrying-α3.7 need to be detected to reduce the misdiagnosis rate of patients carrying HKααand-α3.7/αααanti-4.2 *** accurate genetic counseling can be provided in the clinic using nested PCR combined

We adopt the quark pair creation model to investigate the light meson emissions of several charmoniumlike *** quark pair creation model is applied to four-body systems,and we calculate the pion/kaon emissions of X(4700),Z_(c)(4430),Y(4230),Y(4360),Y(4390),and Y(4660)within compact tetraquark *** find that the pion/kaon decay widths of X(4700)and Z_(c)(4430)the resonances Y(4230),Y(4360),Y(4390),and Y(4660)cay behaviors will provide useful information for future experimental searches and theoretical interpretations.

Background Circulating trimethylamine N-Oxide （TMAO） level has been linked to adverse cardiovascular outcome and mortality in the general population, and atherosclerosis is a window of the cardiovascular disease. Therefore, the present study was designed to investigate the relationship between TMAO level and atherosclerosis in untreated essential hypertension patients. Methods We measured serum TMAO level in atherosclerosis, subclinical atherosclerosis and controls matched by age and sex. The link between serum TMAO level and CIMT was subsequently assessed. Results The level of serum TMAO was significantly higher in atherosclerosis pa- tients than in controls. Serum TMAO level was positively correlated with carotid intima media thickness （r = 0.783, P 〈 0.001）, and logistic regression indicated that TMAO was a risk factor of atherosclerosis （OR, 1.904; 95% CI, 1.197- 2.733, P 〈 0.001）. Conclusions Serum TMAO concentration positively correlates to carotid intima media thickness, and should be a good predicted biomarker for atherosclerosis.

Understanding seasonal soil erosion and deposition rates and their spatial distribution along sloping farmlands are necessary for erosion prediction technology and implementing effective soil conservation *** date seasonal change of soil erosion and soil redistribution on long gentle hillsiopes are not fully quantified due to the variable erosive forces in different seasons.A multi-tracer method using rare earth elements(REE)was employed to discriminate seasonal changes of soil erosion and its spatial distribution on a sloping farmland driven by snowmelt runoff,wind force and rainfall-runoff.A long-slope runoff plot with 5 m wide and 320 m long located in the typical Mollisol region of China was divided into eight segments,each of which was 40 m long and tagged with one of eight REE *** spot method of a partial-area tagging scheme was employed and a grid-based layout was used for REE *** showed that annual soil erosion rate was 3251.01 km^(-2)for the whole runoff plot,in which snowmelt runoff erosion contributed 537.3 t km^(-2),wind erosion 363.11 km-2 and rainfall-runoff erosion 2350.6 t km^(-2).Surface runoff is the main external erosive force of hillslope soil erosion,accounting for 88.8%of the total annual soil ***,for the eight slope segments of the 320-m long hillslope,the sediment transport ratios of each slope segment caused by snowmelt runoff and rainfall-runoff erosion were more than 23.5%and 34.7%,*** results will enrich the understanding of seasonal soil erosion on long hillsiopes.

Cat's eye syndrome chromosome candidate 2 bromodomain(CECR2 BRD)and Bromodomain PHD transcription factor bromodomain(BPTF BRD)are the same subfamily proteins,both of which are highly conserved in sequence and binding *** remain in the development of small molecules to inhibit one of the two bromodomains(BRDs),in view of each subtype may possess unique physiological and pathological *** is still a lack of effective selective inhibitors of CECR2 BRD,which makes it difficult to fully understand the pathogenesis of CECR2-BRD in diseases,especially ***,we report our efforts to discover a series of highly selective CECR2 BRD inhibitors over BPTF BRD based on ***-based molecular optimization led to the discovery of DC-CEi-26,whose IC_(50) for CECR2 BRD was 96.7±14.9 nmol/L and selectivity was up to 590×over BPTF ***-CEi-26 showed weak potencies for other classic BRDs in different subfamily,which may serve as a chemical probe for CECR2 BRD biological research.

Petrogenesis of lacustrine dolostone is closely related with paleo-lake water *** we report the high spatial-resolution petrographic and geochemical results of a lacustrine dolomite nodule from the Qingshankou Formation,the Songliao *** and elemental signatures confirm the protogenetic origin of this nodule and its effectiveness in recording geochemical characteristics of paleo-lake water during *** low Y/Ho ratios,middle rare earth element(MREE)enrichment and subtle positive Eu anomalies within the nodule indicate a fresh water ***,the Sr isotope values in the core of the nodule(0.7076-0.7080)are close to contemporaneous seawater(0.7074),yet different from the modern river(0.7120)and the host black shale(0.7100).On the premise of excluding the influence of hydrothermal fluids,the significantly low strontium isotope values of the lacustrine dolomite might be caused by seawater interference during *** findings demonstrate that lacustrine dolomite within black shales is not only a faithful tracer of diagenetic water environment,but also a novel and easily identified mineralogical evidence for episodic seawater intrusion event(91 Ma)in the Songliao Basin,which supplements other paleontological and geochemical evidence.

Dear Editor,Generation of heterozygous genomes by hybridization between or within species can help maintain plant diversity and serve as a potential source of new species(Baek et al.,2018).Moreover,genomic heterozygosity is associated with genomic coadaptation,developmental stability,and *** definition of alleles in haplotypes is necessary to precisely characterize allelic variation controlling agriculturally important traits(Shi et al.,2019).Currently,most released genomes have mosaic assembly of haplotypes due to random selection or collapse of alleles during genome assembly(Shi et al.,2019),which masked allelic variation and functional differentiation of divergent alleles in heterozygous species.

The spatial agglomeration of agricultural production is conducive to reducing planting costs, increasing production efficiency and improving product quality. It is an important way to promote the transformation and upgrad of tea industry and realize the modernization of China's tea industry. This study used Gini coefficient and spatial autocorrelation analysis to explore the characteristics of tea spatial agglomeration in China from three geographical scales: regional level, provincial level and prefecture level from the year 2005 to 2015. The results indicated that there was a significant scale effect on the tea spatial agglomeration. The agglomeration degree increased from the regional level, provincial level to prefecture level. The types of spatial agglomeration evolution of the three scales were Ushaped, continuous diffusion, and continuous agglomeration. The spatial autocorrelation of tea production could only be found at the prefecture level. Meanwhile, at the prefecture scale, we could not only reveal the pattern changes at the regional and provincial levels, but also identify tea production agglomeration regions. Compared with the large scale, the small scale could reveal the characteristics of tea spatial agglomeration in more details. Factors such as natural resource endowments, cost factor, technological advancement, agglomeration economy, and agricultural policy influenced the evolution of tea spatial agglomeration from different geographical scales. Finally, from the perspectives of spatial transfer of tea production, promoting spatial agglomeration, building tea production bases, and breaking administrative boundaries, we proposed several policy suggestions for optimizing the spatial layout of tea production.

Remote Sensing Assessment of Ecological Effects of Marine Ranching in the Eastern Guangdong Waters, China

This study aims to assess ecological effects of the construction of marine ranching in the eastern Guangdong waters. Variations in sea surface temperature (SST), chlorophyll a concentration (Chl-a), catch per unit effort (CPUE), biodiversity, biomass and density of benthos were compared during the pre- (August in 2011) and post- (August in 2013) marine ranching. These were based on satellite remote sensing and survey data. Results showed that the ratio of Nitrogen (N): Phosphorus (P) was closed to 16, Chl-a increased from 7.5 - 12.3 mg·m-3 to 10.4 - 16.2 mg·m-3, and CPUE increased from 2.1 - 5.5 kg·h-1 to 5.8 - 14.5 kg·h-1. The species number of fish, crustaceans, cephalopods and shellfish increased by 25, 3, 2 and 3 respectively. Shannon-Wiener biodiversity index of fish, crustaceans, cephalopods and shellfish increased by 0.5, 0.4, 0.1 and 1.0 respectively. Both biomass and density of benthos increased also. The construction of marine ranching in the eastern Guangdong had restored the habitat to some extent, and played positive effects in the conservation and proliferation of fishery resources in local area.
