Migration and transformation of Pb,Cu,and Zn during co-combustion of high-chlorine-alkaline coal and Si/Al dominated coal

Shaerhu(SEH)coal is abundant in Xinjiang,China.The utilization of SEH suffers from severe ash deposition,slagging,and fouling problems due to its high-chlorine-alkaline characteristics.The co-combustion of high-alkaline coal and other type coals containing high Si/Al oxides has been proven to be a simple and effective method that will alleviate ash-related problems,but the risk of heavy metals(HMs)contamination in this process is nonnegligible.Hence,the volatilization rates and chemical speciation of Pb,Cu,and Zn in co-combusting SEH and a high Si/Al oxides coal,i.e.,Yuanbaoshan(YBS)coal were investigated in this study.The results showed that the addition of SEH increased the volatilization rates of Pb,Cu,and Zn during the co-combustion at 800℃from 23.70%,23.97%,and 34.98%to 82.31%,30.01%,and 44.03%,respectively,and promoted the extractable state of Cu and Zn.In addition,the interaction between SEH and YBS inhibited the formation of the Pb residue state.SEM-EDS mapping results showed that compared to Zn and Cu,the signal intensity of Pb was extremely weak in regions where some of the Si and Al signal distributions overlap.The DFT results indicated that the O atoms of the metakaolin(Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2))(001)surface were better bound to the Zn and Cu than Pb atoms after adsorption of the chlorinated HMs.These results contribute to a better understanding of the effects of high-alkaline coal blending combustion on Pb,Cu,and Zn migration and transformation.

Ionic liquid-assisted preparation of hydroxyapatite and its catalytic performance for decarboxylation of itaconic acid

The synthesis of methacrylic acid from biomass-derived itaconic acid is a green route,for it can get rid of the dependence on fossil resource.In order to solve the problems on this route such as use of a preciousmetal catalyst and a corrosive homogeneous alkali,we prepared a series of hydroxyapatite catalysts by an ionic liquid-assisted hydrothermal method and evaluated their catalytic performance.The results showed that the ionic liquid[Bmim]BF_(4) can affect the crystal growth of hydroxyapatite,provide fluoride ion for fluorination of hydroxyapatite,and adjust the surface acidity and basicity,morphology,textural properties,crystallinity,and composition of hydroxyapatite.The[Bmim]BF4 dosage and hydrothermal temperature can affect the fluoride ion concentration in the hydrothermal system,thus changing the degree of fluoridation of hydroxyapatite.High fluoride-ion concentration can lead to the formation of CaF_(2) and thus significantly decrease the catalytic performance of hydroxyapatite.The hydrothermal time mainly affects the growth of hydroxyapatite crystals on the c axis,leading to different catalytic performance.The suitable conditions for the preparation of this fluoridized hydroxyapatite are as follows:a mass ratio of[Bmim]BF4 to calcium salt=0.2:1,a hydrothermal time of 12 h,and a hydrothermal temperature of 130℃.A maximal methacrylic acid yield of 54.7%was obtained using the fluoridized hydroxyapatite under relatively mild reaction conditions(250℃ and 2 MPa of N_(2))in the absence of a precious-metal catalyst and a corrosive homogeneous alkali.

Does the Hartman effect exist in triangular barriers

We study the phase,Larmor and dwell times of a particle scattered off triangular barriers(TBs).It is interesting that the dependences of dwell,reflective phase and Larmor times on the wave number,barrier width and height for a pair of mirror-symmetric(MS)exact triangular barriers(ETBs)are quite different,as the two ETBs have quite distinct scattering surfaces.In comparison,the dependence of the transmitted phase or Larmor times is exactly the same,since the transmitted amplitudes are the same for a pair of MS TBs.We further study the Hartman effect by defining the phase and Larmor velocities associated with the phase and Larmor times.We find no barrier width saturation effect for the transmitted and reflected times.This is indicated by the fact that all the velocities approach finite constants that are much smaller than the speed of light in vacuum for TBs with positive-slope impact faces.As for ETBs with vertical left edges,the naive velocities seem to also indicate the absence of the Hartman effect.These are quite distinct from rectangular barriers and may shed new light on the clarification of the tunneling time issues.

Nuclear charge radius predictions by kernel ridge regression with odd-even effects

The extended kernel ridge regression(EKRR)method with odd-even effects was adopted to improve the description of the nuclear charge radius using five commonly used nuclear models.These are:(i)the isospin-dependent A^(1∕3) formula,(ii)relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov(RCHB)theory,(iii)Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov(HFB)model HFB25,(iv)the Weizsacker-Skyrme(WS)model WS*,and(v)HFB25*model.In the last two models,the charge radii were calculated using a five-parameter formula with the nuclear shell corrections and deformations obtained from the WS and HFB25 models,respectively.For each model,the resultant root-mean-square deviation for the 1014 nuclei with proton number Z≥8 can be significantly reduced to 0.009-0.013 fm after considering the modification with the EKRR method.The best among them was the RCHB model,with a root-mean-square deviation of 0.0092 fm.The extrapolation abilities of the KRR and EKRR methods for the neutron-rich region were examined,and it was found that after considering the odd-even effects,the extrapolation power was improved compared with that of the original KRR method.The strong odd-even staggering of nuclear charge radii of Ca and Cu isotopes and the abrupt kinks across the neutron N=126 and 82 shell closures were also calculated and could be reproduced quite well by calculations using the EKRR method.

Enhancing lithium-sulfur battery performance with In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC heterostructures:Synergistic effects of double barrier and catalytic transformation

The sluggish redox reaction kinetics of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)are considered the main obstacle to the commercial application of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries.To accelerate the conversion by catalysis and inhibit the shuttling of soluble LiPSs in Li-S batteries,a solution is proposed in this study.The solution involves fabrication of N,S co-doped carbon coated In_(2)O_(3)/In_(2)S_(3)heterostructure(In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC)as a multifunctional host material for the cathode.The In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC composite can reduce the Gibbs free energy for the conversion reactions of LiPSs,which results in superior performance.The synergy between different components in In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC and the unique 3D structure facilitate ion and electron transport in Li-S batteries.The In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)S_(3)@NSC/Li 2 S 6 cathode exhibits excellent rate capacity,with a capacity of 599 mAh g−1 at 5.5 C,and good cycle stability,with a capacity of 436 mAh g^(−1)after 1000 cycles at 1 C.Overall,this study proposes a promising solution to improve the energy storage properties of Li-S batteries,which could potentially facilitate the commercialization of Li-S batteries.

Enhanced stability of nitrogen-doped carbon-supported palladium catalyst for oxidative carbonylation of phenol

Enhancing the stability of supported noble metal catalysts emerges is a major challenge in both science and industry.Herein,a heterogeneous Pd catalyst(Pd/NCF)was prepared by supporting Pd ultrafine metal nanoparticles(NPs)on nitrogen-doped carbon;synthesized by using F127 as a stabilizer,as well as chitosan as a carbon and nitrogen source.The Pd/NCF catalyst was efficient and recyclable for oxidative carbonylation of phenol to diphenyl carbonate,exhibiting higher stability than Pd/NC prepared without F127 addition.The hydrogen bond between chitosan(CTS)and F127 was enhanced by F127,which anchored the N in the free amino group,increasing the N content of the carbon material and ensuring that the support could provide sufficient N sites for the deposition of Pd NPs.This process helped to improve metal dispersion.The increased metal-support interaction,which limits the leaching and coarsening of Pd NPs,improves the stability of the Pd/NCF catalyst.Furthermore,density functional theory calculations indicated that pyridine N stabilized the Pd^(2+)species,significantly inhibiting the loss of Pd^(2+)in Pd/NCF during the reaction process.This work provides a promising avenue towards enhancing the stability of nitrogen-doped carbon-supported metal catalysts.

Temporal and Spectral Characteristics of Persistent Emission and Special Bursts of Magnetar SGR J1935+2154 Based on Insight-HXMT

In October 2022, the magnetar SGR J1935+2154 entered the active outburst state. During the episode, the InsightHXMT satellite carried out a long observation that lasted for 20 days. More than 300 bursts were detected, and a certain amount of persistent radiation signals were also accumulated. This paper mainly introduces the results of persistent radiation profile folding and period search based on Insight-HXMT data. At the same time, the burst phase distribution characteristics, spectral lag results of burst, the spectral characteristics of zero-lag bursts and the time-resolved spectral evolution characteristics of high-flux bursts are reported. We found that there is no significant delay feature during different energy bands for the bursts of SGR J1935+2154. The observed zero-lag burst does not have a unique spectrum. The time-resolved spectrum of the individual burst has consistent spectral types and spectral parameters at different time periods of the burst. We also find that the burst number phase distribution and the burst photon phase distribution have the same tendency to concentrate in specific regions of the persistent emission profile.

Local thermal conductivity of inhomogeneous nano-fluidic films:A density functional theory perspective

Combining the mean field Pozhar-Gubbins(PG)theory and the weighted density approximation,a novel method for local thermal conductivity of inhomogeneous fluids is proposed.The correlation effect that is beyond the mean field treatment is taken into account by the simulation-based empirical correlations.The application of this method to confined argon in slit pore shows that its prediction agrees well with the simulation results,and that it performs better than the original PG theory as well as the local averaged density model(LADM).In its further application to the nano-fluidic films,the influences of fluid parameters and pore parameters on the thermal conductivity are calculated and investigated.It is found that both the local thermal conductivity and the overall thermal conductivity can be significantly modulated by these parameters.Specifically,in the supercritical states,the thermal conductivity of the confined fluid shows positive correlation to the bulk density as well as the temperature.However,when the bulk density is small,the thermal conductivity exhibits a decrease-increase transition as the temperature is increased.This is also the case in which the temperature is low.In fact,the decrease-increase transition in both the small-bulk-density and low-temperature cases arises from the capillary condensation in the pore.Furthermore,smaller pore width and/or stronger adsorption potential can raise the critical temperature for condensation,and then are beneficial to the enhancement of the thermal conductivity.These modulation behaviors of the local thermal conductivity lead immediately to the significant difference of the overall thermal conductivity in different phase regions.

Strong vertices of bottom mesons B and B^(*) and bottomonia Υ,ηb

In this study,the strong coupling constants of vertices BBΥ,BB^(∗)Υ,B^(∗)B^(∗)Υ,BB^(∗)ηb,and B^(∗)B^(∗)ηb are analyzed in the framework of QCD sum rules.All possible off-shell cases and the contributions of vacuum condensate terms including,,,,andare considered.The momentum dependent strong coupling constants are first calculated and then fitted into the analytical function g(Q^(2)),which is extrapolated to time-like regions to obtain the final values of strong coupling constants.The final results are gBBΥ=40.67+7.55−4.20,gBB^(∗)Υ=11.58+2.19−1.09 GeV−1,gB^(∗)B^(∗)Υ=57.02+5.32−5.31,gBB^(∗)ηb=23.39+4.74−2.30,and gB^(∗)B^(∗)ηb=12.49+2.12−1.35 GeV−1.These strong coupling constants are important input parameters that reflect the dynamic properties of the interactions among the mesons and quarkonia.

Regulating electrochemical performances of lithium battery by external physical field

Lithium batteries have always played a key role in the field of new energy sources.However,non-controllable lithium dendrites and volume dilatation of metallic lithium in batteries with lithium metal as anodes have limited their development.Recently,a large number of studies have shown that the electrochemical performances of lithium batteries can be enhanced through the regulation of external physical fields.Especially,it significantly hinders the growth of lithium dendrites and promoting the reaction kinetics.This review summarizes recent innovations in the investigation of various physical fields of lithium batteries.The application of magnetic field in the synthesis of lithium battery electrode materials is introduced.The influence factors and regulation mechanism of various physical fields on the electrochemical performance of lithium batteries are reviewed emphatically.In addition,the current research status and existing challenges,along with future directions for the evolution of lithium batteries,are minutely discussed and prospected.New strategies for the further evolution of lithium batteries have also been provided.
