Tuina alleviates neuropathic pain through regulate the activation of microglia and the secretion of inflammatory cytokine in spinal cord

Effectiveness and safety of acupuncture in treatment of pregnancyrelated symptoms:a systematic review and Meta-analysis

OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture(AM)in the treatment of pregnancyrelated symptoms such as acute vomiting during ***:We comprehensively searched the available literature up to November 2021,including Pub Med,Embase,Cochrane Library,chinese Biomedical Literature Database,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)on AM for the treatment of severe vomiting,insomnia,pharyngeal and pelvic pain,mood abnormalities,and dyspepsia during ***:Sixteen RCTs with a cumulative sample size of 1178 cases were *** these,964 patients were included in the *** Meta-analysis results showed that AM was more efficient than Western medicine in treating discomfort during pregnancy[odds ratio(OR)=1.19,95%confidence interval(CI)(1.11,1.28),P<0.01].AM was better than the control group in improving the visual analog scale scores[standard mean difference(SMD)=0.62,95%CI(0.53,0.71),P<0.01].AM was superior to the control group in improving Numerical Rating Scale(NRS)symptom scores[OR=7.31,95%CI(3.36,15.94),P<0.01].There was no significant difference in adverse effects between the AM and sham-AM groups and the analgesic drug group[OR=0.70,95%CI(0.39,1.28),P=0.25],but the treatment and control groups had mild adverse effects with a low ***:AM is more effective than other treatments or pharmacotherapy alone in the treatment of pregnancy-related symptoms,and is relatively ***,the quality of the included trials was rather poor,and high-quality studies are required to confirm our findings.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD), a common respiratory disease, can be effectively treated by traditional chinese medicine(TCM). Qingfei Huatan, a TCM formula, has been reported to effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of COPD patients. However, there is a lack of multi-centre,randomised, double-blind, controlled clinical trials documenting the clinical efficacy and safety of this formula in the treatment of acute exacerbation of COPD(AECOPD).Objective: This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of Qingfei Huatan formula in the treatment of AECOPD, thereby providing high-quality clinical ***, setting, participants and interventions: A total of 276 patients with AECOPD were included in this multi-centre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial and were randomised into treatment and control groups at a ratio of 1:1. Patients in the treatment and control groups took Qingfei Huatan granules or simulated Qingfei Huatan granules twice a day, for 14 days, in addition to Western medicine treatment. All patients were followed up for 3 *** outcome measures: The primary outcome was time taken to symptom stabilisation. The secondary outcomes included duration of antibiotic use, clinical symptom and sign score, TCM syndrome score, dyspnoea score, and quality of life(QOL) score. Meanwhile, the safety of the formula was assessed through routine urine and stool tests, electrocardiograms, liver and kidney function tests, and the observation of adverse events throughout the ***: The time taken for effective stabilisation(P < 0.05) and obvious stabilisation(P < 0.01), and the duration of antibiotic use(P < 0.05) were significantly shorter in the treatment group than in the control group. On days 6, 9, 12 and 14 of treatment, clinical symptom and sign score decreased in both groups,particularly in the treatment group(P < 0.01). Electroacupuncture activates AMPKa1 to improve learning and memory in the APP/PS1 mouse model of early Alzheimer's disease by regulating hippocampal mitochondrial dynamics

Objective: Studies have shown that electroacupuncture(EA) can alleviate cognitive impairments from Alzheimer's disease(AD) by regulating the expression of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK), but the specific mechanism involved remains to be elucidated. Therefore, this study explores the potential mechanism by which EA improves cognitive function from the perspective of mitochondrial ***: The four-month-old transgenic mice with amyloid precursor protein(APP)/presenilin 1(PS1)and AMPKa1-subunit conditional knockout(AMPKa1-cKO) were used for experiments. To evaluate the effects of EA treatment on cognitive function, the T-maze and Morris water maze were used. In addition,chemical exchange saturation transfer, thioflavin staining, transmission electron microscopy, mitochondrial membrane potential, and Western blotting were used to examine the potential mechanisms underlying the effects of EA on APP/PS1 ***: Both APP/PS1 mice and AMPKa1-cKO mice exhibited dysfunction in mitochondrial dynamics accompanied by learning and memory impairment. Inactivation of the AMPK/peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor-γ coactivator-1a(PGC-1a) pathway increased pathological amyloid-β(Aβ) deposition and aggravated the dysfunction in mitochondrial dynamics. In addition, EA rescued learning and memory deficits in APP/PS1 mice by activating the AMPK/PGC-1a pathway, specifically by reducing pathological Aβ deposition, normalizing energy metabolism, protecting the structure and function of mitochondria,increasing the levels of mitochondrial fusion proteins, and downregulating the expression of fission proteins. However, the therapeutic effect of EA on cognition in APP/PS1 mice was hindered by ***: The regulation of hippocampal mitochondrial dynamics and reduction in Aβ deposition via the AMPK/PGC-1a pathway are critical for the ability of EA to ameliorate cognitive impairment in APP/PS1 mice.

Objective:To determine the role of Tripterygium wilfordii multiglycoside(TGW) in the treatment of psoriatic dermatitis from a cellular immunological ***:Mouse models of psoriatic dermatitis were established by imiquimod(IMQ).Twelve male BALB/c mice were assigned to MQ or IMQ+TGW groups according to a random number *** changes in vivo were assessed by hematoxylin and eosin *** of immune cells and cytokines in mice,as well as PAM212 cell proliferation in vitro were assessed by flow ***-inflammatory cytokine expression was determined using reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain ***:TGW significantly ameliorated the severity of IMQ-induced psoriasis-like mouse skin lesions and restrained the activation of CD45^(+)cells,neutrophils and T lymphocytes(all P<0.01).Moreover,TGW significantly attenuated keratinocytes(KCs) proliferation and downregulated the mRNA levels of inflammatory cytokines including interleukin(IL)-17A,IL-23,tumor necrosis factor α,and chemokine(C-X-C motif) ligand 1(P<0.01 or P<0.05).Furthermore,it reduced the number of γδ T17 cells in skin lesion of mice and draining lymph nodes(P<0.01).Conclusions:TGW improved psoriasis-like inflammation by inhibiting KCs proliferation,as well as the associated immune cells and cytokine *** inhibited IL-17 secretion from γδ T cells,which improved the immune-inflammatory microenvironment of psoriasis.

The transformation and implementation of clinical practice guidelines for integrated traditional chinese medicine(TCM)and Western medicine(WM)is crucial to the adoption of medical science and technological findings and is an important way for TCM to be made available to the ***,clinical practice guidelines(CPGs)of TCM and WM integration in recent years was analyzed to clarify the current situation and problems in the existing guidelines according to the following four perspectives:(1)perspective of TCM and WM integration in guidelines,(2)diagnosis Using integrated TCM and WM,(3)integration of TCM and WM treatment,(4)promoting TCM and WM ***,the information and quality evaluation of CPGs for integrated chinese and Western medicine in 2020–2022 were analyzed to explore the degree and methods of integration of chinese and Western medicine *** last this study aimed to lay a foundation for the further establishment of chinese characteristic,repeatable,and calculable clinical practice guidelines of TCM and WM integration.
