Modeling porous structure of oil-pressboard interface and its effect on electric field distribution

The oil-pressboard insulation is a typical composite insulation system widely used in the design and manufactory of large power apparatus. The implement of oil-pressboard insulation may lead to surface electrification and discharge at the interface under certain condition. It is of significant importance to take an insight into the phenomenon occurring at the interface. Through experiment, the pressboard is found as a porous material. The interface changes abruptly from bulk pressboard to the bulk oil as a result of the porous structure. A new model is proposed which divides the interface into bulk oil region, transition region, and bulk pressboard region. The width of the transition region is decided according to the microtome figure. The effective permittivity of the transition region is calculated using a new model based on fractal theory. The model is validated and compared with previous calculation model. The effect of the existence of transition region on the electric field distribution is discussed.

Unexpected ice accumulation tends to cause many problems or even disasters in our daily *** on the superior electrothermal and photothermal function of the carbon nanotubes,we introduced a superhydrophobic/electrothermal/photothermal synergistically anti-icing *** a voltage of 15 V was applied to the superhydrophobic sample,the surface could rapidly melt the ice layer(~3 mm thickness)within 530 s at the environmental temperature of-25℃.When the near-infrared light(808 nm)irradiates on the superhydrophobic sample,the ice could be rapidly removed after 460 *** was found that the superhydrophobicity helps the melted water to roll off immediately,and then solves the re-freeze problem the traditional surfaces ***,the ice can be completely melted with 120 s when the superhydrophobic/electrothermal/photothermal synergistically anti-icing strategy was *** improve the mechanical robustness for practical application,both nanoscale carbon nanotubes and microscale carbon powders were utilized to construct hierarchical *** these dual-scale fillers were sprinkled onto the semi-cured elastomer substrate to prepare partially embedded *** hierarchical structure and partially embedded structure were obtained after completely curing the substrate,which imparts excellent abrasion resistance(12.50 kPa,16.00 m)to the prepared ***,self-healable poly(urea–urethane)elastomer was introduced as the ***,the cutted superhydrophobic sample can be mended by simply contacting at room temperature.

The superhydrophobic strain sensor is a fantastic direction,which could protect the strain sensor in harsh ***,the self-healing superhydrophobic strain sensor has not been *** this research,we developed a superhydrophobic strain sensor,which demonstrated excellent self-healing,mechanical robustness,and liquid impalement resistance *** key innovation is to partially embed hydrophobic graphene and carbon nanotubes into the hydrogel *** hodrogel substrate endows the sample with self-healing *** graphene,carbon nanotubes and hydrogel together lead to an accurate and real-time monitoring of human ***,the prepared sample demonstrated super-robust superhydrophobicity,which retained superhydrophobicity after many kinds of damage(such as 1000%stretch,10000 stretching-releasing cycles,hand-rub,tape-peeling,and high-speed drop/jet impact).

Both thermochromic and photochromic coating have attracted many attentions due to their widely applications,but the low stability is a big *** by the lotus leaf,to endow the chromic coating with superhydrophobicity is a possible *** this research,a dual response coating was prepared by adding photochromic and thermochromic particles *** prepared sample demonstrated at least four-state color switching,which can be successfully used in tactile imaging,multi-color fabric,erasable record,and security *** superhydrophobicity was achieved by introducing vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane,which not only offers low surface energy but also can cross-link with the particles to increase the ***,the prepared sample maintained superhydrophobicity after various kinds of destruction(such as sandpaper abrasion,corrosive liquid attack,ultrasonic treatment,UV irradiation,and high-speed drops/turbulent jets impact).Even though the superhydrophobicity can be destroyed by plasma etching,it can be recovered after 12 h at room temperature.

Microstructure evolution of Ti5Si3 in Cu-Ti-Si alloys

The Cu-Ti-Si alloys containing in-situ formed Ti5Si3 are prepared. In order to clarify the Ti5Si3 formation processes and its microstructure characteristics, the as-cast and deeply etched Cu-Ti-Si alloys with different compositions and cooling rates were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). It is found that the eutectic Ti5Si3 phases in Cu-Ti-Si alloys are rod-like with hexagonal cross section which tend to intertwine with each other to form a firm skeleton like a bird nest structure which can make the alloys keep their original shape even after etching off the Cu matrix. In addition, there is Cu in the center of many Ti5Si3 rods, resulting in a core-shell structure. With the increase of the cooling rate, Ti5Si3 distributes more uniformly, and the diameter of Ti5Si3 significantly decreases, with a minimum size of less than 100 nm, while the aspect ratio of Ti5Si3 increases.

A Passive Anti-icing Strategy Based on a Superhydrophobic Mesh with Extremely Low Ice Adhesion Strength

Although superhydrophobic materials have attracted much research interest in anti-icing,some controversy still *** this research,we report a cost-effective method used to verify the contribution of area fraction to ice adhesion *** tried to partially-embed siliea nanopnarticles into microscale fabrics of a commercial polyamide ***,the area fraction could be determined by altering the mesh ***,the ice adhesion strength decreases as the area fraction *** ice adhesion strength of~1.9 kPa and a delayed freezing time of~1048 s can be *** attribute the low ice adhesion strength to the combination of superhydro-phobicity and stress *** superhydrophobicity prohibits the water from penetrating into the voids of the meshes,and the small actual contact area leads to stress concentration which promotes interfacial crack ***,our superhydrophobic mesh simultaneously exhibis a micro-nano hierarchical structure and a partally-cmbedded ***,the as-prepared superhydrophobic mesh retained the ieephobicity after 20 icingldeicing cycles,and maintained its superhydrophobicity even afier 60 sandpaper-abrasion cycles and a 220"C thermal treatment.

This paper proposes a new method for power transmission risk assessment considering historical failure statistics of transmission systems and operation failure risks of system *** failure risks are integrated into the new method based on operational condition assessment of components using the support vector data description(SVDD)*** traditional outage probability model of transmission lines has been modified to build a new framework for power transmission system risk *** proposed SVDD approach can provide a suitable mechanism to map component assessment grades to failure risks based on probabilistic behaviors of power system *** the new method,both up-todate component failure risks and traditional system risk indices can be processed with the proposed outage *** a result,component failure probabilities are not only related to historical statistic data but also operational data of components,and derived risk indices can reflect current operational conditions of *** simulation studies,the SVDD approach is employed to evaluate component conditions and link such conditions to failure rates using up-to-date component operational data,including both on-line and off-line data of *** IEEE 24-bus RTS-1979 system is used to demonstrate that component operational conditions can greatly affect the overall transmission system failure risks.
