he international HypHI collaboration proposes to perform hypernuclear spectroscopy with stable heavy ion beams and rare isotope beams at GSI and FAIR in order to study neutron and proton rich hypernuclei and to measure directly hypernuclear magnetic moments for the first time. The project is divided into four phases. In the first Phase 0 experiment,the feasibility of precise hypernuclear spectroscopy with heavy ion beams will be demonstrated by observing π-decay channels of 3ΛH,4ΛH and 5ΛHe with 6Li projectiles at 2 AGeV impinging on a 12C target. In the later Phases 1 through 3,studies of proton and neutron rich hypernuclei,direct measurements of hypernuclear magnetic moments and the spectroscopy of hypernuclei toward the nucleon drip-lines are planned.

This paper presents an approach of active ferromagnetic shimming for C-type permanent magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） magnet. It is designed to reduce inhomogeneity of magnetostatic field of C-type permanent magnet to meet the stringent requirement for MRI applications. An optimal configuration （locations and thicknesses） of active ferromagnetic pieces is generated through calculation according to the initial field map and the demanded final homo- geneity specifications. This approach uses a minimisation technique which makes the sum of squared magnetic moment minimum to restrict the amount of the active ferromagnetic material used and the maximal thickness of pieces stacked at each hole location in the shimming hoards. Simulation and experimental results verify that the method is valid and efficient.

Background: After deinitive chemoradiotherapy for non-metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC), more than 10% of patients will experience a local recurrence. Salvage treatments present signiicant challenges for locally recurrent NPC. Surgery, stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy, and brachytherapy have been used to treat locally recurrent NPC. However, only patients with small-volume tumors can beneit from these treatments. Re-irradiation with X-ray—based intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMXT) has been more widely used for salvage treatment of locally recurrent NPC with a large tumor burden, but over-irradiation to the surrounding normal tissues has been shown to cause frequent and severe toxicities. Furthermore, locally recurrent NPC represents a clinical entity that is more radioresistant than its primary counterpart. Due to the inherent physical advantages of heavy-particle therapy, precise dose delivery to the target volume(s), without exposing the surrounding organs at risk to extra doses, is highly feasible with carbon-ion radiotherapy(CIRT). In addition, CIRT is a high linear energy transfer(LET) radiation and provides an increased relative biological efectiveness compared with photon and proton radiotherapy. Our prior work showed that CIRT alone to 57.5 Gy E(gray equivalent), at 2.5 Gy E per daily fraction, was well tolerated in patients who were previously treated for NPC with a deinitive dose of IMXT. The short-term response rates at 3–6 months were also acceptable. However, no patients were treated with concurrent chemotherapy. Whether the addition of concurrent chemotherapy to CIRT can beneit locally recurrent NPC patients over CIRT alone has never been addressed. It is possible that the beneits of high-LET CIRT may make radiosensitizing chemotherapy unnecessary. Nuclear binding energies, charge radii and the charge distributions of even-even tin （Sn） isotopes are calculated using relativistic mean field theory, and the theoretical results are found to be in accordance with the experimental data. The nuclear charge form factors for Sn isotopes are calculated using the phase-shift analysis method. It is shown that the minima of the charge form factors shift upward and inward with an increase in the neutron number of the Sn isotopes.

Nuclear double β^--decays with two neutrinos were observed for many years and a systematic law describing the relation between their half-lives and decay energies was also proposed recently [Phys Rev C, 2014, 89： 064603]. However, double β^＋ -decay （β^＋β^＋） with emission of both two positrons and two neutrinos has not been observed up to date. In this article, we pcrform a systematic analysis on the candidates of double β^＋-decay, based on the 2012 nuclear mass table. Eight nuclei are found to be the good candidates for double β^＋-decay and their half-lives are predicted according to the generalization of the systematic law to double β^＋-decay. As far as we know, there is no theoretical result on double β^＋-decay of nucleus ^154Dy and our result is the first prediction on this nucleus. This is also the first complete research on eight double β^＋-decay candidates based on the available data of nuclear masses. It is expected that the calculated half-lives of double β^＋-decay in this article will be useful for future experimental search of double β^＋-decay.

Deexcitation energies of superdeformed secondary minima of odd-odd A u and T1 isotopes are investigated with the relativistic mean field （RMF） model where the isoscalar-isovector coupling is included to change the symmetry energy. It is verified by the theoretical analysis and numerical results that the deexcitation energies of superdeformed secondary minima relative to the ground states in these heavy nuclei are sensitive to differences in the symmetry energy. In particular, the linear correlation between the deexeitation energies of odd-odd Au and T1 isotopes and the neutron skin thickness in 208Pb is established. Moreover, explorations are extended to superdeformed candidates of other mass regions. It is found that the linear correlation can even be established between the deexcitation energies and the symmetry pressure at subsaturation density. These indicate that deexcitation energies can serve as a probe to the density dependence of the symmetry energy.

BACKGROUND Radical cystectomy is considered the first choice for the treatment of muscleinvasive bladder ***,for some patients who have lost the indications for surgery,external beam radiotherapy is a non-invasive and effective *** SUMMARY A 76-year-old patient with bladder cancer who had serious comorbidities and could not tolerate surgery or chemotherapy came to the Wuwei heavy ion *** received carbon ion radiotherapy(CIRT)with a whole-bladder dose of 44 GyE and tumor boost of 20 *** he finished CIRT,his bladder cancer-related hematuria completely disappeared,and computed tomography examination showed that the tumor had obviously decreased in *** the 3-mo follow-up,the tumor disappeared,and there were no acute or late adverse *** was well tolerated in this *** CIRT may allow for avoiding resection and was well tolerated with curative outcomes.
