Decades of research asserted that the oligodendroglial lineage comprises two cell types:oligodendrocyte precursor cells and ***,recent studies employing single-cell RNA sequencing techniques have uncovered novel cell states,prompting a revision of the existing *** forward,the oligodendroglial lineage should be delineated into five distinct cell states:oligodendrocyte precursor cells,committed oligodendrocyte precursor cells,newly formed oligodendrocytes,myelin-forming oligodendrocytes,and mature *** new classification system enables a deeper understanding of the oligodendroglia in both physiological and pathological *** this uniform terminology will facilitate comparison and integration of data across ***,including the consolidation of findings from various demyelinating models,is essential to better understand the pathogenesis of demyelinating ***,comparing injury models across species with varying regenerative capacities can provide insights that may lead to new therapeutic strategies to overcome remyelination ***,by standardizing terminology and synthesizing data from diverse studies across different animal models,we can enhance our understanding of myelin pathology in central nervous system disorders such as multiple sclerosis,Alzheimer's disease,and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,all of which involve oligodendroglial and myelin dysfunction.

Despite considerable research underscoring the importance of carbohydrate intake in relation to the risk of type 2 diabetes(T2D), a comprehensive assessment of this relationship is currently lacking. We aimed to examine the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with the risk of T2D, to evaluate potential effect modification by other factors, including genetic susceptibility,and to explore the potential mediators for such associations. The present study included 161,872 participants of the UK Biobank who were free of prevalent cancer, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes, and had at least one validated 24-h dietary recall assessment. Multivariableadjusted age-stratified Cox proportional hazard regression models were applied to estimate hazard ratios(HRs) and 95% confidence intervals(CI) for the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with risk of T2D. During a median follow-up of13.6 years, 4,176 incident cases of T2D were identified. In the multivariable-adjusted models, a greater intake of fiber, carbohydrates from whole grains, and carbohydrates from non-starchy vegetables was significantly associated with a lower risk of T2D(highest vs. lowest quantile, HR [95% CI]=0.70 [0.62–0.79], 0.74 [0.67–0.82], and 0.83 [0.75–0.92], respectively, all P for trend population subgroups, including individuals with different genetic susceptibility to T2D. Adolescent suicide is the leading cause of death among South Korean(Korean)*** great efforts being made towards suicide prevention in Korea,the suicide rate has not decreased *** is an urgent need for a new adolescent suicide prevention *** paper describes the seriousness of the issue of adolescent suicide in Korea,evaluates its current management by the SWOT analysis(strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats)and further recommends a new suicide prevention programme that integrates national/social involvement(State Suicide Intervention Committee,suicide posts'monitoring,parental divorce information sharing and Adolescence Mental health Promotion Foundation),schoolbased programmes(continuous monitoring system,psychology consultation team and mental health educational curricula)and familybased programmes(parental education and family-school communication).In addition,genetic analysis,biochemical tests and psychological disease registration are the indispensable elements that aid in suicidal behaviour prevention and prediction.

Evaluating the projection capability of climate models is an important task in climate model development and climate change studies. The projection capability of the Beijing Climate Center （BCC） Climate system Model BCC CSM1.0 is analyzed in this study. We focus on evaluating the projected annual mean air temperature and precipitation during the 21st century under three emission scenarios （Special Report on Emission Scenarios （SRES） B1, A1B, and A2） of the BCC_CSM1.0 model, along with comparisons with 22 CMIP3 （Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 3） climate models. Air temperature averaged both globally and within China is projected to increase continuously throughout the 21st century, while precipitation increases intermittently under each of the three emission scenarios, with some specific temporal and spatial characteristics. The changes in globally-averaged and China-averaged air temperature and precipitation simulated by the BCC_CSM1.0 model are within the range of CMIP3 model results. On average, the changes of precipitation and temperature are more pronounced over China than over the globe, which is also in agreement with the CMIP3 models. The projection capability of the BCC_CSM1.0 model is comparable to that of other climate system models. Furthermore, the results reveal that the climate change response to greenhouse gas emissions is stronger over China than in the global mean, which implies that China may be particularly sensitive to climate change in the 21st century.

The increasing use of mathematical models for epidemic forecasting has highlighted the importance of designing models that capture the baseline transmission characteristics in order to generate reliable epidemic *** models for epidemic forecasting could be achieved by identifying signature features of epidemic growth,which could inform the design of models of disease spread and reveal important characteristics of the transmission *** particular,it is often taken for granted that the early growth phase of different growth processes in nature follow early exponential growth *** the context of infectious disease spread,this assumption is often convenient to describe a transmission process with mass action kinetics using differential equations and generate analytic expressions and estimates of the reproduction *** this article,we carry out a simulation study to illustrate the impact of incorrectly assuming an exponential-growth model to characterize the early phase(e.g.,3e5 disease generation intervals)of an infectious disease outbreak that follows near-exponential growth ***,we assess the impact on:1)goodness of fit,2)bias on the growth parameter,and 3)the impact on short-term epidemic *** findings indicate that devising transmission models and statistical approaches that more flexibly capture the profile of epidemic growth could lead to enhanced model fit,improved estimates of key transmission parameters,and more realistic epidemic forecasts.
